BB Curve :: Keyboard And Trackpad Do Not Work At All?
Sep 3, 2011
i woke up to my blackberry curve 3g not turning on, i plugged it into the charger then unpluged it and the screen was on. The trackpad and the keyboard was not working at all. i have tried taking the back out whilst the phone is on, however this worked once and has not worked since.
Yesterday my phone froze and I took out the battery and then my keyboard and trackpad did not work. So I went home and did an software update. But then it was slow and my memory card did not pick up and when I tried to type my phone typed a B when pressing alt.
As if they are not connected, i can move the trackpad left to right and up to the volume icon, but can't click, and the keyboard and side keys do nothing I pulled the battery, that didn't work, the bb site says to delete data, well tried to and 3/4 thru desktop software says the phone is disconnected, so i can't delete all the data i clicked restore, still no keys work and no water, the liquid detector is white?
I have a Curve 8520, I've had it almost a year ago. Yesterday an APP ERROR 523 appeared on my screen and I found out that an application crashed. So I tried to upgrade my OS from 4 to 5. It was successful but I wasn't able to scroll down to press the OK button. After a couple of hours trying to scroll down, I pressed the OK button. But my trackpad and keyboard is not functioning well because when I pressed the home button my BB is not showing the home screen, instead it shows me my phonebook.
my blackberry curve usually works perfectly fine but in this last week its been crashing a lot.. & for hours on end! The only thing I can do is scroll, I can't press the trackpad in, use the keyboard, or any other buttons just scroll.
I have a BB Curve 3G 9300 which I have bought in London about 14 months ago.Right now I am in Brazil & the track / touch pad from my BB does not work at all. I was looking up on the internet & found out that there was a faulty batch with this issue.I cannot use my phone because the trackpad is faulty. What can I do in order to get it fixed or replaced?is there any other option for me to get my normal phone back?
i have done nothing to damage my phone. a few weeks ago, my trackpad would not work, but i plugged it into the charger and took the battery out again. about a week ago,the same thing happened and the same thing helped it. today though,it happened again, and plugging it into the charger and taking out the blackberry didnt help it. i cant get to much on my phone, as obviously i cant get to a lot as i cant use the trackpad.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 and the trackpad won't work. I can select the item it is on and I can access the menu but other than that, I can't do anything else due to the fact that the trackpad doesn't work
My BlackBerry Curve 9300 track pad frequently does not work. When this happens I remove and replace the battery to reboot the phone. I sometimes have to do this up to six times before the track button starts working again. Once the button is working, within 10 minutes to half an hour the track button becomes inoperable again and I have to go through the same procedure again.
On my blackberry 9300 the trackpad doesn't work it use to about two days ago on and off and i would have to type what i wanted to find in and click enter on the keyboard to select it i would like to know any ways of fixing this?
My track pad doesn't work when attempting to take photos. It will not zoom in or out? Also my light behind the key pad has went out, do i have to take it in to be repaired or is there a setting?
I have a 6 month old phone that has never been wet. Today for no apparent reason all the buttons stopped working. The trackpad can be used to scroll back and forth across the home screen till the screen fades due to inactivity.
I got a problem in my trackpad, my trackpad doesn't work totally, I try to restore my old back up and it works again then suddenly when I update my bb app world it my trackpad doesn't work again, I try to delete applications that I think that may causes malfunctioning or freezing my trackpad, then, I totally wipe out my bb, but the problem is still the same, trackpad doesn't work, I am using OS6, I don't know whats the cause of this problem, I try to put my backup files again and trackpad doesn't work anymore when i wipe my bb.
hi just recently, the letter "a" on my 8520 wont respond and sometimes my trackpad will freeze on me. and if i leave any of my keys untouched for more than 20 seconds i would have to press down on a key to get a response from the phone. im running a .681 but ive only heard good things from it. any suggestions/ideas to whats causing the problem ?
I have a Curve 9300 with OS 6. I cannot return the device to the original retailer (out of warranty). This is kind of what happens.
1.)Trackpad stops scrolling after backlight switches back on. After waiting 10 seconds it works ok
2.) After an hour or so the trackpad stops scrolling entirely. The "push button" of trackpad still works though.
3.) I hard reset the device. Trackpad stops working entirely (doesnt scroll and pushing it as a button does not work either)
4.) I send phone in for repairs.
5.) If it works after "cleaning and reseating trackpad" my phone works fine for a few days. Then problem starts all over again.
6.)If cleaning does not work, they replace my trackpad. This usually works for a few weeks to a month. Then the problem starts all over again?I am getting sick of having the phone getting sent in for the trackpad to just be replaced again and again.
My Curve 8900 is less than 6 months old, and suddenly the keyboad will not work, so I cannot make/receive calls, and although the trackball works, it will not "click" to unlock it. Seems to be an intermittent fault. As I own the Blackberry (it is not bought through a service provider), I tried to contact Blackberry customer services UK, who seem to be reluctant to deal with consumers. My service provder, O2 were much more helpful. How can I get a replacement/repair under warranty, or fix the problem?
I have a BlackBerry 9700. Yesterday the keyboard became really weird. It strted pressing u even if i was pressing something else. Also if i pressed q,e or some other letters it would close the text message I was writing. Also if i pressed spacebar, it would keep going till i pressed something else (same with backspace). the buttons either side of the trackpad (back, menu, ring, hang up buttons) keep flashing , like blinking on and off and the trackpad isnt working amazingly. whenever there is call keep on rejecting. This all happened in one day
The screen is frozen, but the phone responds when it is closed. I hear the trackpad, but it doesn't move, nor do any of the keys work. I have removed the battery - left it out overnight, still won't respond.
I have had my BB for about a month now and it was working fine. The trackpad is very responsive and when the unit is closed the track pad works great but about a week ago the trackpad stopped working when the keyboard slider was open, after a few swipes it would come back to life however now the problem is worsened to the point where the trackpad is unresponsive when the kb is opened but as soon as I slide the kb back the track pad comes to life, this is the second unit that I have had problems with in 30 days. I have tried all the standard stuff like pulling the battery for a few hrs and such.
My atrix works with the hd dock and saitek backlit usb keyboard fine. I also have a gigabyte bluetooth mouse thats works with the ocassional dropout. The problem is I just got a motorola bluetooth keyboard with trackpad and it doesn't work in webtop mode. The mouse portion of the keyboard works sometimes and then drops out, but I can't type anything. The caps lock light will not even come on. When I undock the phone the keyboard will work and then disconnects randomly. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. Hopefully this will be fixed with a software update.
Yesterday the keyboard started to do strange things: when I'm writing text messages it skips some letters it starts automatically to cancel all I have wrote without I have pushed "del"sometimes it automatically locks and no one key can remove the lockI already tried to remove and replace the battery but the problem still remain.
My new Pearl 9100 keeps freezing and then restarting on itself. It's super annoying because this happens about every hour. When it restarts the entire trackpad won't work, even the button. The only way I've been able to get it to work again is to restart it until it does! It usually takes about 7 restarts until the entire trackpad will work, then it restarts again.
I have a Blackberry Bold 9700. It was purchased at Rogers, but it is currently under Koodo's service. The file free on my phone is 86,607,023 Bytes. The applications installed shown is only "FREE Earth Floats Animated Theme" from Mobstar Media Ltd. I'm not entirely sure what BT device model/version means, but if it's Bluetooth, I've never used that (and it is currently disabled according to my phone); however the previous owner may have used it with Rogers.
Now for the question:
Earlier today I dropped my BlackBerry on the floor and when I picked it up, I sent a text. Soon afterwards, my phone would not respond to pressing in (clicking) the trackpad. My phone still allowed me to scroll upwards, downwards, and to either side; the only thing it would not rspond to is pressing the trackpad.I had an epiphany in which I realized that I could simply hit the enter key to do anything (so far) that clicking in my trackpad will do; however, I still would like to be able to press in my trackpad to select options and such.
I read up some articles and they all said to either:1. Remove the battery for a period of time, or remove the battery/memory card/sim card for a period of time. 2. Press the button in 'hard' and this will 'free it up'.I did both of these, but had no luck.
One thing that I thought might help is reinstalling the operating system, but I can't find my cord. I called a friend and he said I could borrow his cord tomorrow, but since no one had suggested this as a potential solution, I didn't want to unecessarily hold off posting about my problem.
I have a Blackberry Bold 9650 and the trackpad freezes or doesn't work. This has happened a couple times, and I have to completely restore the device, but this time nothing works. The keypad works fine, but the trackpad doesn't work at all, and thus I can't access anything but the phone. I have updated all the software.
