BB Curve :: 8520's Keyboard Has Started To Play Up / Wont Send With Enter Button On BBM
Jan 1, 2011
My 8520's keyboard has started to play up.It wont send with the enter button on BBM.If I dont lock it and the screen goes black, i have to hold either the power button or the middle button to get the screen back.My alt button wont let me hold and type, I have to press it individually for each different symbol or letter.I've restored my whole phone but no difference.
I cannot find the equivalent of the enter button on the on-screen keyboard. Where is it? I always have to slide the physical keyboard open to press enter. It gets kind of annoying.
It seems Xperia Keyboard update (6.6.A.0.30) has been released. I found it on Play Store, but there is no update nor install button for me to update it.
Attached screenshots to demonstrate the problem.
1st picture - no install / update button. 2nd picture - xperia keyboard search result and it is already installed.
I'm on D6653 and 5.0.2, and Xperia Keyboard version 6.6.A.0.12.
I have an iPhone 4, running iOS 4.0.1 and sometimes I will link up my Apple Bluetooth keyboard to it when texting. Its great! However, I can't seem to find a "send" button? Like if I was chatting in iChat I would just push enter but in SMS's an enter just takes you down a line...so is there some kind of secret shortcut for the end button rather going back and forth between the keyboard and tapping the screen?
My Curve's keyboard has suddenly started to malfunction, some letters double or triple up. This is especially problomatic when typing in a password or texting. The keys also seem to have a slow response time. Especially the backspace button which i have to click multiple times to get to delete things. And it seems random for which letters it doubles up, but this problem has been happening for the past 4 days.
I noticed the screen started flickering on my blackberry 8520.Then all of a sudden it went off and I can't switch it back on again. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in again and that didn't work.
for past few days bb curve started showing gsm insted edge . i checked with other mobiles they are working fine.i switched off and restaterd it .but no use . i wiped all the settings also but it is not changing.
My blackberry started booting and it never completes this process. I have waited and the bar never passes letter "e" in blackberry. I have waited a lot of time and also tried taking out the battery and rebooting it again. What can I do? Is there a way to reset my phone manually?
When I use my browser to get to Gmail or Blogger, I have to sign in. So, I enter my username and password, but the Enter key doesn't work to load the page up. Nor does it work when I use the tracker to click on "sign in". Nothing happens so I can't access these sites. If I go to another website, for example, Google.com, enter my text and click the Enter key, it loads and shows me my results. Links seem to work on other websites too. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and have a suggestion?
the problem started with the 8520 stop working... it will load then started to fade to white screen after using the app loader to restore the os the problem got worse... now even the app loader wont detect the blackberry it will detect for a second after batt removal then the app loader wont detect it anymore
I've been trying to set up my email account through the wizard set up and have been largely unsuccessful. I read a couple of posts that have given a step-by-step process. My only problem is that I don't have an option that says 'Add account.' Here are the steps I've followed:
1) Go to Email Setup 2) Choose 'I want to create or add an email address. 3) Click next 4)Click next again 5)Then, I get a message which says 'Existing Users, to log in, please provide your username and password.'
I don't have an option to add an account. When I put in my username and password into the fields, I get a message saying please enter a valid username. (My service provider already set up my Gmail, and couldn't add the other one. I told him I'd figure it out)
When I turn on my BB, the numeric keypad is locked (123 sign on upper right activated).I am therefore unable to enter my password which contains letters. How can I unlock the numeric keypad, as all the other keys are inactive?
My blackberry curve 8520 keyboard is unresponsive. I have done several hard resets removing the battery sim card and memory card. Once I put all of the components back in the phone it restarts and brings me to the screen to enter my keyboard password. When I press the keys none of them respond and the screen stays blank and eventually dims away. NO keys word and the scroll pad will only scroll but not select. I am in dire need of a solution-
I have a Curve 8520, I've had it almost a year ago. Yesterday an APP ERROR 523 appeared on my screen and I found out that an application crashed. So I tried to upgrade my OS from 4 to 5. It was successful but I wasn't able to scroll down to press the OK button. After a couple of hours trying to scroll down, I pressed the OK button. But my trackpad and keyboard is not functioning well because when I pressed the home button my BB is not showing the home screen, instead it shows me my phonebook.
I went to advanced options and updated my wireless and now when i lock my phone i have to unlock by hitting mute.does anyone know how i can get my old lock feature back ( * + send)
Downloaded OS 5.0.508 and now lock icon is missing. I can hold the A button and put it in what seems to be sleep mode, but my name and info does not show up on the home screen anymore. And you now push the mute button to unlock the keyboard. These are the only changes I have noticed. I liked the other way better.
how can I turn off the keyboard from lighting up, when the device screen is on. I don't want the keyboard light to turn on when I'm using the device because it wastes battery. And my second and most important question is, why is the battery life so poor? My curve battery get's me through one day, and all I do is SMS, facebook, and IM. I don't use it 24/7 during the day either. I've had to charge it every night! Do I have to give the battery time to be "broken in"?
After I upgraded my 8530 to the new OS last week (pushed down by Big Red), my Keyboard Lock function disappeared! I can't find ANYWHERE where I can lock my keyboard now! What gives?
I recently took charge of a Blackberry Curve 8520 - I noticed that after I had linked it to my PC via Blackberry Desktop Manager, the icon for the keyboard lock was removed from the menu. I've looked in the obvious places in Options to try and re-instate the icon but can't seem to see anywhere which allow me to do ths. I've also searched for hidden items but nothing seems to be hidden.
Yesterday the keyboard started to do strange things: when I'm writing text messages it skips some letters it starts automatically to cancel all I have wrote without I have pushed "del"sometimes it automatically locks and no one key can remove the lockI already tried to remove and replace the battery but the problem still remain.
I recently got a Curve 8900, and I can only lock/unlock it by pressing the top button. On my brother's Curve.he's able to lock/unlock by pressing A+Send. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get mine to do the same thing.I went to the "Tips and Tricks" section for my phone, and it actually says that the A+Send option is the standard way to lock/unlock.Now I'm confused. Please help.
When I try and play wmv files on my blackberry curve 8520 it plays the sound but not the video clip. I have removed the battery and replaced it but still does not work. It says that wmv is supported.
When i talk on the phone the keyboard light fades away; however, the call, blackberry, back, and end buttons all stay on THE WHOLE TIME i talk. I have talked for 30 minutes and it stays on. I have all the settings to as low as they go and i have it to where the lights fade. I just cant seem to figure out if this happens on everybody's phone or its just mine and i need to get it replaced. I have had no other complaints on this phone and the battery lasts a pretty long period of time for me but i know that if this issue gets fixed it would last even longer.
