the problem started with the 8520 stop working... it will load then started to fade to white screen after using the app loader to restore the os the problem got worse... now even the app loader wont detect the blackberry it will detect for a second after batt removal then the app loader wont detect it anymore
View 9 RepliesI have the curve 8520 and it keeps fading to a white screen while I'm doing pretty much anything on the phone. It has done it after I check voicemail, on BBM, fb, email...etc.etc. After it fades to white, it will freeze like that until i take the battery out or plug it in...sometimes it will just turn itself off and stay on black screen... do i need to get a new battery?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI own a two Blackberry 8520. Almost 1.25 year i bought it. Both mobile has crossed 1year warranty. In Both set the rubber buttons started to fade off... The volume, Voice dialing button is faded off completely with the Cam button on the sides.When I called Redington India Ltd Jaipur & Delhi they told the rubber panel has to be replaced completely and they need to send the phone to Banglore ( Min 10 days of time) and it would cost WOOPING 2500Rs just to replace the rubber coat on the phone! What I would like to know is
1. Why 10 days of service time?
2. If I sell my phone I wouldn't even get 2500Rs now and the repair costs WOOPING 2500rs just to replace the rubber panel on the phone. Is it the right cost given to me?
3. Can the service be done within few hours or 1 or 2 days?( Since its just replacing the rubber panel)
4. Why is the quality of Blackberry 8520 not up to BlackBerry standards? The buttons just fade off what ever is done! Sir. Spending 2500rs for one mobie is very expensive just for the rubber panel.
5. The total cost for both mobile is around Rs 5,000. It is very expensive because in both sets body (front & Back) is OK but rubber panel was fade off.
6. Having such a reputed company the quality of buttons is so poor. Is this a manufacturing Defect?
I just got me a BlackBerry Curve 8520 and installed the latest version - 822 that leaked but still no show. My problem is that I can't find the AppWorld - I mean can't find it anywhere in the menu. And the Application list says I have it installed. Anyone has any idea?! Look all over the menu but somehow can't see from where to start it up.

After i put it into charge - then only a successful start is done. So the only solution as of now i have - is whenever my blackberry hangs - i need to remove the battery - insert it again - and immediately put it into charging via USB/Electric-Power. Even if i re-insert the battery - the white screen comes - unless and until i put it into charging Earlier i was guessing - my battery was weak.

I bought a new screen and replaced the old one. Now when I turn it on, I get the white screen and i cannot dial out or recieve calls. Basically the phone is dead. I was able to connect to my desktop and install the latest OS version. I put the old screen back in and I still cannot recieve or dial. I must have done something while taking it apart or putting back together? It is a very simple procedure so I would think it difficult to screw it up. Before I took it apart, i could get phone calls and dial out but i couldnt see the outgoing or incoming call screen. I took the battery out before I took it apart. Now when I connect to my desktop, the connection comes and goes as if you were plugging and plugping in the device.

When I retrieved it, the screen is all white. I can not do anything with it. I am able to receive calls on it and I hear that I receive messages on it but I can not see anything! Now my new curve keeps freezing when I'm on the internet, the screen will get white lines across it which gradually get bigger until the whole screen is white. A reboot doesn't work unless the phone is plugged into the charger and the problem never happens when the phone is on charge.I've tried changing the browser settings so JavaScript isn't enabled, I've also reinstalled the software and finally decided to wipe my blackberry and restored it to the file i had saved from my old curve and I'm still getting the same problem.
I'm not sure whether it's linked to the battery as it also happens when making a call if the battery is low and when I reboot my curve after it's gone to a white screen the battery has usually dropped a few bars (usually from full to 2 bars)
For the past few weeks, everytime I get on the internet or listen to the media player, the screen turns white and then shuts down the phone. Once this happens, I can't turn the phone back on. I've tried taking the battery out and replacing it and it still does not turn back on. It only turns back on once it's been plugged into a charger and then shows that the battery is dead. I don't carry a charger in my back pocket and can't always plug one in if I do carry it. This is very frustrating!! 80% of the time, the battery is fully charged when the screen goes out so it's draining the battery when it does this. Is anyone else having this problem?
