my screen randomly lining into pure white and becoming unresponsive. It requires a battery pull to correct the problem, and it doesn't seem to affect the way everything else is running. BlackBerry has had me do a 'clean install' on the device
View 14 RepliesAnyone else suffering from their curve 8520 os: 5.0.0.681 randomly crashing and only showing a white screen as well as it being unable to reboot unless it is plugged in? It often occurs when I'm playing media, using apps and maps. Had the same problem with my previous phone so it was sent in for repair and replaced but I'm still suffering from the same problem with the replacement handset!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought my new Curve 8530 from Sprint a couple weeks ago, it's a great phone and I love it! ( like all of my past blackberries ). There is just one issue that is bothering me, the E key can be unresponsive at times. For example if i hit it with my right thumb, it usually wont key in, but it always will with my left thumb. It's not a HUGE deal, but it is just a little bothersome.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust about every day, my BlackBerry Curve 8530 becomes unresponsive to any keys. I use Password Lock (because I have no choice--I upgraded and lost Keyboard Lock) and if I see that the red light is blinking and I go to "sign in" and it won't respond to any keys, including the convenience keys, dial/hang-up, trackpad and click, and Media buttons. However, the phone is still operating and will respond to new messages coming in, phone calls (though you can't use any keys), and Bluetooth, etc. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing fixes it except for pulling the battery (and waiting for it to restart--which takes longer than my computers). This did not happen back under Keyboard Lock before I upgraded the first time. I'm currently on 5.0.0.734Does anyone have any idea of what's happening, or what can be done to get out of the situation when it does occur, short of yanking the battery?
View 4 Replies View Relatedhi just recently, the letter "a" on my 8520 wont respond and sometimes my trackpad will freeze on me. and if i leave any of my keys untouched for more than 20 seconds i would have to press down on a key to get a response from the phone. im running a .681 but ive only heard good things from it. any suggestions/ideas to whats causing the problem ?

Hence the volume button and shortcut buttons on the side have peeled off and other parts of the lining are also tearing off. This is a manufacturing defect. I have checked on google and have seen that there are lot of people complaining of the same problem.

After i put it into charge - then only a successful start is done. So the only solution as of now i have - is whenever my blackberry hangs - i need to remove the battery - insert it again - and immediately put it into charging via USB/Electric-Power. Even if i re-insert the battery - the white screen comes - unless and until i put it into charging Earlier i was guessing - my battery was weak.
View 1 Replies View RelatedStarting today my music player has been randomly stopping during songs. I checked my memory card in another phone to make sure it wasn't the problem, and it wasn't. It also happens on the stock Blackberry Music. It will play for a minute tops, and then stop playing. The music player doesn't close, it's just like if I had pressed pause. Normally pressing the play/pause button at the top of the phone a few times will do the trick, but this is quite annoying. If I wait long enough the music will resume again. I also checked my device memory and it's not low at all, and this will happen as soon as the phone is on with only the mandatory programs running. Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas what could be causing it? I've done a few battery pulls but I'm still having the same problem.

After I use the track pad to scroll upper left then upper right the bottom right and bottom left the screen is normal. Has anyone else had this issue?

After the Sprint screen, an 'uncaught inception' message pops up, then it proceeds to verify security software.....the screen turns bright white and a tiny message in the middle of the screen says: app error 523 with the word 'reset' highlighted under it.....I can't do anything but click on it, for it to shut down and go through the whole exact thing all over again..
View 9 Replies View Relatedmy dog got hold of my 8530 and put a toothmark in the screen cover. The screen was also damaged meaning I could see white and grey stripes. I bought a new screen and replaced the old one. Now when I turn it on, I get the white screen and i cannot dial out or recieve calls. Basically the phone is dead. I was able to connect to my desktop and install the latest OS version. I put the old screen back in and I still cannot recieve or dial. I must have done something while taking it apart or putting back together? It is a very simple procedure so I would think it difficult to screw it up. Before I took it apart, i could get phone calls and dial out but i couldnt see the outgoing or incoming call screen. I took the battery out before I took it apart. Now when I connect to my desktop, the connection comes and goes as if you were plugging and plugping in the device.

When I retrieved it, the screen is all white. I can not do anything with it. I am able to receive calls on it and I hear that I receive messages on it but I can not see anything! View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a BB Curve 8520 Smartphone (EDGE WIFI) v5.0.0.681.From almost a month now i am facing a problem whenever i m using my phn for more than 5mins in a stretch.Even while browsing internet or during call the screen jst blurs and goes totally white and then i have to take d battery out nd reinsert it and it will try to restart for a min or so nd again go sompletely white midway.The only way the phn restarts is by reinserting the battery while being attached to the charger.Although it doesnt have battery issues as when the phone starts again the battery indications are correct and doesnt show a drained out battery.I upgraded software frm BB website and also tried deleting all the new apps that i had downloaded but still the problem wont go.The phn works perfect and doesnt freeze even once when constantly connected to the charger.But practically thats not possible

So I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, Recently it has been fading into a white screen whether im listening to music, searching images, browsing the web, in a phone call etc. then it will not fully load up after I take the battery out and put it back in so I attach a charger which gets it to work every time.I went into the Orange shop and asked what this may be, they said to do updates on the phone, which there are no updates to do.

Now my new curve keeps freezing when I'm on the internet, the screen will get white lines across it which gradually get bigger until the whole screen is white. A reboot doesn't work unless the phone is plugged into the charger and the problem never happens when the phone is on charge.I've tried changing the browser settings so JavaScript isn't enabled, I've also reinstalled the software and finally decided to wipe my blackberry and restored it to the file i had saved from my old curve and I'm still getting the same problem.
I'm not sure whether it's linked to the battery as it also happens when making a call if the battery is low and when I reboot my curve after it's gone to a white screen the battery has usually dropped a few bars (usually from full to 2 bars)
For the past few weeks, everytime I get on the internet or listen to the media player, the screen turns white and then shuts down the phone. Once this happens, I can't turn the phone back on. I've tried taking the battery out and replacing it and it still does not turn back on. It only turns back on once it's been plugged into a charger and then shows that the battery is dead. I don't carry a charger in my back pocket and can't always plug one in if I do carry it. This is very frustrating!! 80% of the time, the battery is fully charged when the screen goes out so it's draining the battery when it does this. Is anyone else having this problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife wanted to sell her BB curve 8520 for a BB upgrade Phone and so to delete all data I did a memory wipe. the phone never started after the wipe and got stuck on the white screen with a small clock in the middle...it stays on for a few min ...goes blank and starts again with the white screen....this keep on repeating on and on!!..I tried to use a method given in other treads by re intalling the software but I cant even connect the BB to my PC via USB (DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED)...I even tried different computers and different USB port and different WIndows (Win 7 and XP) still no luck!
