This morning I retrieved all my information from protect except my bbm contacts now I've lost my phone contacts? How can I retrieve this information again
View 1 RepliesI am trying to understand how I can protect my personal information stored in Outlook Contacts from being stored on my employers enterprise server? The blackberry torch 9800 I have is my personal equipment and I have several email accounts that go to it. However, I'm also on my employers enterprise server and they now have all of my passwords to various websites. Is there anyway to keep specific contacts off an employers enterprise server while still having them appear on the blackberry torch?

All my contacts are backed up on BB Protect as problems with my BB meant I couldn't back up to BB desktop software. However now I can't access them.My provider (vodaffone) transfered my SIM to a MicroSIM to use with my new iphone so the original normal sized SIM I have is no longer functioning meaning I cannot use the BB handset to download the contacts from BB Protect. We tried to do this in the Vodafone shop with no success as BB protect wouldn't recognise the new device and wanted the old one which I no longer have (I've had 5 in 7 months).All I want to do is get a list of the 300 contacts locked away in BB protect in any form. I don't even care if i have to sit and type them all in again..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new BB Torch 9810 and I'm trying to restore from BB Protect but not all contacts restore - and it seems random which ones don't. I tried a resolution posted about unticking not restoring contacts which are e-mail synchronized but the only option under "Synchronisation Options" on my Torch is "Deleted items". When I look at the back-up data on Protect for the old device (Torch 9800) each synch has 2 Address Book entries with different numbers of items. Could it somehow be restoring only one of these two files?

Problem is, I can't run Prtoect on the new Bold 9780 I bought, which makes the whole Protect idea kind of useless.I was on the phone with a Rogers Tech Support person, but there was nothing we could do to get Protect to run on my Bold.

It will ask for my I'd and password. I have tried putting in the password several times but I am unable to login. Initially I thought I had forgotten my password or putting the wrong password .....then I changed my password but I am still unable to login I am not sure of the problem.....
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery so often on my N8, I get a call from "someone". All I see is the phone number, with no indication of who it's from. Then I find out it's from someone who should have already been listed in my contacts.
Is there any way to search through contacts by phone number? At least that way I'd know who the call was from, before calling back.
Also, is there anything to do (or not to do) that will minimize this problem? I have multiple phone numbers and email addresses for several people, but I didn't think that would create an issue.
How come when I add new information in my contact at first it looks like its been saved, but after a while it dissapears?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed BlackBerry Protect on my phone. I think it's a great app, with tons of potential to be useful. The only thing I'm a little unsure about is that in order for it to work properly on my Bold 9900 I had to disable encryption. The question I have, which I hope someone out there can answer: is that a big deal/ is it a smart tradeoff? I don't know that much about encryption, but it sounds like something I would like to have (Can you ever have to much security in a handheld?)
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy BlackBerry Protect system has gone into overdrive it wont allow me to access any app updates, update various settings etc because i cant sign in to it. i know i have the right password but even tried changing it and it must be right as my 'remaining attempts' isnt increasing. i just keep getting the error message "unable to log in to your account" can this be fixed? i really dont want to have to restore factory settings to try to fix it, its taken ages to program it all?

But now I have little problem with Blackberry Protect service.When I setup phone first, I have setup Blackberry Protect service as well and it worked fine. But then there comes update of Blackberry Protect to version 1.1.1.50. Since this update was installed, I can't connect to Protect service anymore.Bold wants to do a new setup of Protect service when I launch the App. This looks good, but after "Blackberry ID" screen it freezes at "Connecting to Blackberry Protect" and this status holds there for couple of hours and nothing happens (on 3G and on WIfi also). I have tried to uninstall BB Protect and then reinstall it.

I set up my Droid with my original gmail account, I'll call it gmail1. For various reasons I want to have 2 additional gmail accounts so I played around, created them in gmail, I'll call them gmail2 and 3. Cause I wasn't sure what I was doing I ended up with contact lists for each with slightly different info and they all got merged into my contact list on my Droid.So the net is I have a person with 2 addressess, another with 3 birthdays (all the same day, but merged from the 3 accounts. would like my Droid to only sync contacts with gmail1, but the contact list already contains the extra data. Is there a way to eliminate that extra data? I removed the contacts from gmail1 and 3 and synced them to the Droid, but all their stuff still exists in my Droid contact list.
