Jan 5, 2012I've recently bought new Bold 9900 phone and it is great. But now I have little problem with Blackberry Protect service.When I setup phone first, I have setup Blackberry Protect service as well and it worked fine. But then there comes update of Blackberry Protect to version 1.1.1.50. Since this update was installed, I can't connect to Protect service anymore.Bold wants to do a new setup of Protect service when I launch the App. This looks good, but after "Blackberry ID" screen it freezes at "Connecting to Blackberry Protect" and this status holds there for couple of hours and nothing happens (on 3G and on WIfi also). I have tried to uninstall BB Protect and then reinstall it.

Aug 1, 2012I am unable to log into the blackberry protect. Every time I click on blackberry protect, it prompts me to click open blackberry protect. It will ask for my I'd and password. I have tried putting in the password several times but I am unable to login. Initially I thought I had forgotten my password or putting the wrong password .....then I changed my password but I am still unable to login I am not sure of the problem.....

May 24, 2012I have exceeded the number of attempts to verify my password for blackberry protect .... n now I'm unable to login to my app world n blackberry protect ... also I am unable to edit my blackberry ID due to the login problem .... I have tried rebooting it yet no changes .... currently my wifi is on .... each time I try to edit my Blackberry ID (under the option>device>blackberry ID) , it says i have exceeded the number of attempts to verify my password , try again in 15 minutes, when the security lock out time ends .... even after 15 minutes it still says im unable u to unlock it ... n the same message appears ... and also under the blackberry protect it shows:Blackberry ID :

Aug 20, 2011My BB ID works on the Blackberry website, but I can't use the BB ID on my new Bold 9900 (it says 'unable to log into your Blackberry ID account'). Vodafone suggested I cleaned the memory (options, security, advanced security, memory cleaning), and then tried to delete my old BBID (the one that worked on my old Bold 9700) and set up a new BBID, but that didn't work either. After looking online others have tried security wipes but many say they haven't worked. I'm unable to access Blackberry protect and 'my world' in Blackberry App World, or do anything that involves using my BB ID on my phone

May 22, 2011I am having problems activating BIS on my bold 9650.
Device Info:
Carrier : Vodafone India
Model: BB Bold 9650 OS5.0.0.975
I bought the device off a top seller on ebay ( has 99.7% feedback and has sold around 50 of the same devices so far). It is a Verizon unlocked BB Bold 9650.I have registered the device on my Carrier. Contacted the carrier many times and they say my BIS has been activated. But it says "edge" in small, and BIS status as not connected.
Things i have tried so far:
1) Tried my SIM on a friend's BB and BIS works fine
2) Tried battery pull several times.. no use
3) Registered from the Host routing table.. says "Registration message sent" but no replies
4) my HRT and Service books are empty
5) Have Network settings to Automatic, GSM/UMTS, 2G
6) Data services are ON
7) Firewall disabled and no IT policy
8) Tried wiping device twice
9) Tried creating a new account on my Service provider BIS registration site.. it says my device has not been registered with the service provider?

Aug 25, 2011I recently installed BlackBerry Protect on my phone. I think it's a great app, with tons of potential to be useful. The only thing I'm a little unsure about is that in order for it to work properly on my Bold 9900 I had to disable encryption. The question I have, which I hope someone out there can answer: is that a big deal/ is it a smart tradeoff? I don't know that much about encryption, but it sounds like something I would like to have (Can you ever have to much security in a handheld?)
