BB Bold :: Get A List Of The 300 Contacts Locked Away In Protect In Any Form?
Jan 28, 2012
After numerous problems with BB I've cut my losses and got an iPhone. All my contacts are backed up on BB Protect as problems with my BB meant I couldn't back up to BB desktop software. However now I can't access them.My provider (vodaffone) transfered my SIM to a MicroSIM to use with my new iphone so the original normal sized SIM I have is no longer functioning meaning I cannot use the BB handset to download the contacts from BB Protect. We tried to do this in the Vodafone shop with no success as BB protect wouldn't recognise the new device and wanted the old one which I no longer have (I've had 5 in 7 months). All I want to do is get a list of the 300 contacts locked away in BB protect in any form. I don't even care if i have to sit and type them all in again..
My keypad is in the locked state and the numbers (123) locked state... so I can't type in the correct password.
Pressing ALT or ALT-# does not fix the problem... I am also traveling in Europe and do not have an international plan... But I was able to use the camera yesterday.
Calendar on previous iPhones could show dates and events in list format, a very useful format. iPhone6 does not seem to have this format. Is there a workaround for this?
This morning I retrieved all my information from protect except my bbm contacts now I've lost my phone contacts? How can I retrieve this information again
I misplaced my blackberry (bb) and locked it via bb protect online. When I found my bb I entered the password(pw) but it kept saying incorrect pw. Now I'm trying to reset the pw on bb protect but it keeps saying the current pw I've entered is incorrect.
There are two contact lists on my bold. Both are named Destop. Only one is able to sync with my outlook desktop. How can I transfer the contacts from one to the other list so that they all sync.
After I restore my BB9700, I found there are 2 almost identical contacts lists in my cell. How could I remove one of the list that I don't like it in the cell?
For the first time today I could pause on a contact name and it would automatically show the number for that person under the name. I scrolled thru my contacts later and it doesn't do it anymore. I liked that option and would like to "turn it on" if possible. I've had my bold for about 3 mons and it has never done it b4 or again. Just once just today. I'm running os .714 on TMO if that matters or is important.
I have just purchased a Bold 9700, and everything is working fine except syncing the contacts from Outlook.
I am also syncing the Calender, which works fine, but when I sync the contacts also, I get the following error message ox80040Fb3
I have the latest software verson of the Blackberry User Tools, and I have tried un-installing and re-installing again, but the same error comes up.
If I only sync the contacts from the phone to Outlook then this works, but I cannot sync both ways or from Outlook to the phone. My last phone was a Blackberry Pearl, which I had no problems syncing with Outlook. The Blackberry User Tools Version for the Pearl was Version 4.3, which I re-installed and tried that, but I still got the same error.
I'm thinking it must be a problem with the software on the phone, as the problem didn't happen with my other Blackberry, and it's happening with both versions of software.
I am using Vista Home Premium, with Office XP. Does anyone have any ideas?
I cannot seem to find a way to remove the default synchronizing email address that has been saved onto my BlackBerry 9700.It shows a email address that I have deleted from my BlackBerry. There are no options to put my current email address as the synchronizing email.
I just downloaded the new OS, and for some reason my contacts got messed up.
Some contacts were tripled, and doubled, some numbers were moved to different contacts, or deleted.
Is there a simple, or any kind of way to get back my old contacts list from a previous backup, while at the same time keeping the new OS, and replacing only this contact list?
I have a BB Bold 9700 and during the holidays, I went to my parents' place, where there was no cell coverage... But the weird thing is that my Contacts disappeared as soon as I lost connectivity.... I figured they would reappear when I had coverage again, but not!
So I did a restore from my latest backup in BB Desktop Manager (latest version) and it still didn't work... I don't know what to do anymore...
The rest is still there, calendar, saved messages, pics, etc...)
Just wondering if there is a way to transfer my contacts from my Samsung Rant to my new BB Bold 9700? If there is not a way that I can do this, without reentering everything, but an ATT store can that would be fine too just want to find out before I take the time to reenter everything or go to a store to ask.. Thanks for any imput.
I finally got a chance to hold and try both models side by side, and it's amazing what a difference the extra 2mm width of the 9650 makes to the keyboard. It is considerably better and more like the original Bold 9000.
Blackberry make a mistake in shrinking down the Bold 9700 too much. It really should be a few mm wider to optimise the keyboard - which is one of the key diferentiating features of the Bold series. The extra size would also prevent Blackberry losing valuable corporate customers who really need a great keyboard and don't mind a more substantial device.
so my Blackberry has broken and im getting rid of it but all my contacts are saved on the BB.they are backed up on Blackberry Protect online but how do i get the contacts from BB protect to my SIM card???
I recently upgraded my OS for my 9700 and did a handheld wipe.I do weekly backups on blackberry protect but it doesn't seem to be restoring my BBM contacts.
I have a new BB Torch 9810 and I'm trying to restore from BB Protect but not all contacts restore - and it seems random which ones don't. I tried a resolution posted about unticking not restoring contacts which are e-mail synchronized but the only option under "Synchronisation Options" on my Torch is "Deleted items". When I look at the back-up data on Protect for the old device (Torch 9800) each synch has 2 Address Book entries with different numbers of items. Could it somehow be restoring only one of these two files?
When your BB is locked, you can press the Emergency button and select a number to dial. I was just wondering if there is a way to add another custom number in there? Thought it would be good for people in my company to be able to put a personal emergency contact in there in case they are in an accident, because our company phones lock automatically after a short period.
Amazing feature...now..not only can you backup your contacts as a BB file but you can save them on your PC as normal contacts which have full details (email, numbers, etc.)
You can download version 6 here >>> https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...247A852FAD3647
Went to an at&t store today and played with the 9800. I had been excited about it, but had never used a touch screen before. Wow, forgetting any issues that “may” exist with OS or the device itself which others have more than covered enough elsewhere in this forum, I was somewhat disappointed. As implied, it’s not the device or OS, but the use of a touch screen vs. my Bold 9000 that I love so much (and thus I’d probably have the same view with switching to any other touch screen device, BB or not). (However, the 9000 keyboard still IMHO exceeds all others including the 9800, which I found to be small, even for my small fingers).
But for those of you who have switched from similar devices to a touch screen, how was the experience? How long did it take to get fully used to a touch screen etc.? One thing I anticipate missing - believe it or not - is the ease of getting around on my Bold. Now I have PocketDay and have 2 short cuts assigned to every key. Not sure if I’ll have the same abilities on the 9800 etc.
In linking to new Playbook, messed up and had to 'start again' with blackberry phone. Messed up also with my old password and after 10 tries it froze. I have gone through password reset process but still blocking me with the message: Your account has been locked. Please try again after the lockout period has expired or call customer service.Any suggestions other than a call to technical desk. I've been researching forums and seems to be the case that lock is indefinite. Incidentally, I didn't see the option after 10 tries to enter word 'blackberry' but it was late at night and frustration had kicked in. Possibly I missed that.
I used Protect on my old 8220 and backed up all my contacts.I lost my 8220 but checking Protect website, my data is there. Problem is, I can't run Prtoect on the new Bold 9780 I bought, which makes the whole Protect idea kind of useless.I was on the phone with a Rogers Tech Support person, but there was nothing we could do to get Protect to run on my Bold.
