Nov 15, 2011I just bought this phone and the next day when i wanted to download an application or remove one of my email accounts, it asks for blacberry id username and password but it cant log in. i changed the password, removed battery started it without sim card but nothing helps.

I think the account is frozen - I can log into the normal BB account but not into BB beta. What gives?

Aug 20, 2011I just purchased the BB Bold 9900 and switched from my Torch 9800. All seemed good after the Desktop manager data and application switch, then switched to the new PIN on my provider's Blackberry page and everything went smooth.I was able to login to the device Email setup (using Blackberry ID) then also to App World and all worked perfectly.A few hours later, and without any reason, now signing in to Blackberry ID through either the Email setup or App World fails with the error "Unable to login to your Blackberry ID account
I can login with the same BB ID and password on the Blackberry ID website, so the account is not locked out. Also, I am not typing the wrong password on the device, because when I do, I get a different error (the email and password combination is not that of a valid Blackberry iD).So apparently, this is an issue with the actual Blackberry ID authentication module. I read a lot of blogs and forums, and many people said it's due to the cached PIN (since I migrated data from my old Torch). I tried removing App World and re-installing a different version (including the Beta 3.0), still same problem occurs.

Feb 14, 2012I am trying to modify the settings of an email account I have set up. Using Setup/email accounts it requests an ID Username and password. I have typed in I believe valid user ID and password and get the message "unable to log in to your Blackberry ID account". This is a different message to that if I type the worong password as that says "the user name and password do not correspnd to a valid balckberry ID". I've tried resetting the password and I can log into the web site using my ID and passord, but not my phone.

Jun 6, 2010I finally got a chance to hold and try both models side by side, and it's amazing what a difference the extra 2mm width of the 9650 makes to the keyboard. It is considerably better and more like the original Bold 9000.
Blackberry make a mistake in shrinking down the Bold 9700 too much. It really should be a few mm wider to optimise the keyboard - which is one of the key diferentiating features of the Bold series. The extra size would also prevent Blackberry losing valuable corporate customers who really need a great keyboard and don't mind a more substantial device.
