Aug 30, 2010I wanted to disable all data on the bb 9700 (OS 5.545?) and only use it as a phone/SMS.Question is i went into mobile network and i set Data Services to OFF.But i also read online that if its GSM it should change from EDGE to edge, and 3G to 3g.Well anyways on this phone its still saying 3G even tho data is OFF.

Jan 16, 2012I am using a blackberry bold 9700 V5.0.0.862. My phone is unlocked and I am using it on the Fido network. I was away for 5 weeks, and while away I used a simcard from that country in my phone. When I got back to Canada, I put in my fido sim card and the internet was not working. I called Fido and they did a reset on my phone and still no data.
The tech did some trouble shooting as well as gave me the Fido APN info, I did the host routing table reset and still nothing. I have no idea what the problem could be but Fido has told me there is nothing else that they can do, as I am using an unlocked device. I cannot connect to the internet, my BBM does not work, and I am not receieving emails. I can make phone calls and send texts. I have pulled the battery out many times. My phone says 3G.I don't know if some of the setting on my phone locked from using the international sim, if my sim is corrupted, or if I need a new phone.

Sep 14, 2011I've just switched carriers as I've moved to Barbados, but when i try to activate the data on my phone with the new sim, it says the phone is incompatible with the service.I was advised by the new carrier to cancel the old data plan (which was prepaid so i had just forgotten about it) and to try again. It's still not working.

Is it possible to get these memos?I connected it to my computer to move The data from my phone to my laptop, but it had a password and as people with passwords know, you need to enter it twice to connect. I have granted them trusted application status, and have even gone in and checked all the permissions manually but some things simply won't allow me to use data. celluar data: OFF
enable 3g: OFF
data roaming: OFF
and i kept getting this response "turn on cellular data or use Wi-FI to access data" anyone know how to fix this? am i suppose to leave Cellular data on? i turned it off because i thought it would be wasting data. (got 200MB plan)

However, I'm unable to access web servers or services on my own LAN.First spotted when I tried to set up the 'Mail' application and creating custom settings to connect to my own IMAP and SMTP server on IP address 192.168.0.199. The mail app would inform me that the server was unreachable or words to that effect.Using both the Nokia web browser and Opera, I have since tried connecting to a local web server again on 192.168.0.199 and both browsers replied with address unreachable. Have also tried connecting to my router on 192.168.0.1 and again I get address unreachable.My phone connects to my wi-fi with address 192.168.0.15 - and with gateway 192.168.0.1, DNS 192.168.0.1 as per any other device on my network.I have also tried doing exactly the same thing on a Nokia N8 - and the N8 is successfully communicating with local servers.I'm running v14.53 and had same problem with 14.23.

Jan 20, 2010for the past week i was unable to access my email services. I have done a handheld wipe as well on my phone also after that which result that my email icon etc is not showing anymore. When i run a diagnostic test everythingis fine except for the PIN-PIN.

I phoned my service provider and according to them everything is in order on there system. They have tried to resend my email service books but i don't recieve it. Jul 14, 2010I was experiencing slowdowns on applicationss accessing the SD card for storage and caching. Among them are browsers like Dolphin, applications like Twidroyd, and news applications like Huffington Post. It helped with some of the applications by setting their storage options to internal memory, but the best solution so far, without rooting your phone and adding some MODACO mod, is to go to Settings, go to Managing Applications, go to Running Services, look for something that mentions DRM, then kill it.
Killing this does not harm the system, as I tested this already, and it speeds up access to applications that cache on the internal SD card. Of course, another way is to disable all SD access, and everything flies. But I find killing DRM services works well. DRM services is not part of the standard Android set, since I don't find this on the HTC phones, so killing it won't harm anything. Killing off Samsung's own slow ware such as Daily Briefings and the social Feeds widget may also help speed up the UI further, but on the other hand, these widgets can also be useful for some people.

Mar 21, 2012I got the notification on my phone telling me to update so I clicked yes, it started backing up my data (or so the screen says) but then got stuck at 11% for AGES. I tried to exit out of it or do anything but it wouldn't let me so I removed the battery, but then when it rebooted it just went back to the 'backing up your data' screen, and is now stuck at 7%. I tried removing the battery again and leaving it for a while but still no luck.
