I am using the phone very close to my ears and i can see it is blank when i take out to see whether it is in mute or not. whether there is any existing remedy for this or someone can raise a request to sony ericsson to have mute as a hard key or in a menu form like it is present in normal mobiles?

I've tried resetting by turning my phone off and back on, i also checked settings but don't see anything wrong.
Voice calls aren't clear and keep dropping on my mini pro.I don't think it's signal either. My phone shows full signal strength and I haven't had any issues with my sim card in other phones. The closest thing I've found that sound related is on this forum for the mini pro 2011. http://http://talk.sonyericsson.com/message/100711#100711ould it be electrostatic or something to do with the speaker picking up the antena signal?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung galaxy 6 and all incoming calls are setting my ringtone to mute. I put my ringtone volume as high as it will go. Then I call my phone. Sometimes it will ring once with volume before it magically sets my ringtone to mute, but regardless, ever incoming call sets my ringtone to mute by the 2nd or 3rd ring.
I've turned gestures off.
I have no updates for the phone.
No recently added apps.
Power saving is turned off.
my iphone 4 (ios 5.1) doesn't make a sound on it's speakers when receiving a call or using app.however music plays on speakers as well as some apps like "magic piano". Internet uses speakers correctly, too. vibration works when getting a call, but no sound. turning vibration off doesn't make a difference.testing the ringtone works fine, too, but i don't hear it during a call.when using headphones all apps produce the sound they should and incoming calls play the ringtone, too. changing volume level doesn't make a difference.during a call i can turn on loudspeakers without a problem. mute works as expected, too. but no matter what i do, all incoming calls stay silent and most apps and system sounds like keyboard clicks are muted. i missed numerous calls because of that, so how can i turn the sound back on?
info:iphone 4, ios 4.3.3
When I change the position of the Mute/Silent switch, I get the icon to change (either the bell or the bell with the line through it), but the phone continues to right and never goes on silent. If the icon changes, it seems the switch must work physically, right? As far as I know, I haven't changed any settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the BB Torch 9800. It's my first touchscreen phone, so I'm sorry if this has been discussed before. While I'm on a phone call, the following buttons automatically appear on the touchscreen: Mute, Hold, Speaker Phone, and Add Recipient. I have yet to complete a phone conversation without hitting one of these buttons with my cheek. I cannot for the life of me find a way in Options to stop these buttons from appearing during phone calls.I am actually considering returning the phone over this.

Perhaps an application that can shut them off, or some type if setting?
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe keys of my blackberry aren't working anymore even though the screen is working and it hasn't got wet or anything. It isn't working since a few days, and it's driving me crazy because I receive all the messages and notifications but I can't read them since I can't type my password. I took the battery off, restarted it a thousand times but nothing seems to work .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got the new Bold 9900 a couple of weeks ago, and everything was working fine, but then a couple of days ago, everything just seemed to stop working. On BBM, whenever I try to send a message, the little red clock just appears, and I'm not seeing anybody's recent updates. My emails aren't coming through & none of the internet based apps are working. I've tried the hard reboot and reinstalling all the apps but nothing has worked.I've also done the Host Routing Table registration stuff but have not recieved any message. When I click on the service staus option, under the Blackberry Enterprise Service option, it says 'not connected'.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just received the Bold 9650 with 6 OS on it a few weeks ago. Although I am receiving text emails alright, the HTML emails aren't displaying correctly. It is just a bunch of jibberish displaying on the screen. After searching online for a solution, everyone just keeps saying to enable HTML under the messages option... but I'm not even finding the messages option choice? Under the Options menu, I have:
Sounds and Ring Tones
Networks and Connections
Display
Typing and Input
Device
Call Management
Security
Accessibility
Third Party Applications
how to get my HTML messages to display? I've tried taking the battery out and I've also tried "Get Images" and that doesn't do anything at all.
I can't find the option to silence the click sound when I take a picture.I have the camera on silent too.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when I receive a MMS message with sound, it default to mute and I am not able to hear it. On the old bold (9000), I was able to change the volume or make it mute right on the message. This doesn't give me an option to change the volume.I checked in my settings and there is nothing that looks wrong.

View 14 Replies View RelatedThe title says it all - I have a Bold with the oh-so-common broken mute key and I know that the latest 5.0 builds modified the lock/standby behavior. What is the latest build I can use?I can theoretically just use the warranty to get another refurb, but this is 9000 #2 to lose the standby button after 3 months, so I'd rather just hop on Craigslist and buy a 9700, then sell this 9000...
Also, has ANYONE been able to successfully use Blackberry AIM Recently? I seem to always have to choose "Refresh List" to get my messages - I've resent service books and even wiped my phone and reinstalled AT&T .303. I've tried the old 2.1 version that's available on here somewhere (which used to work well) as well as the latest 2.5.32 (which I don't really like anyway because of the 2-line contact list).
9700 phone on Orange UK, version 5.0.0.351, platform 5.1.0.98 how do I disable the little mute/lock button on the top of the phone? It works beautifully but means that when the phone is in my jeans pocket it unlocks itself and I've made several random calls. any ideas how to switch it off?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just updated to 442 and everything else seems fine except for the fact that when on a call, as soon as the backlight times out, it mutes the mic and the party on the other end cannot hear me. Clicking the trackball "unmutes" the phone until the backlight times out again. This happens whether I'm on speakerphone or not.
I posted this in the actual OS thread as well but figured someone in here may read this and know of a solution.
I've done quite a few battery pulls hoping this would resolve the issue but it hasn't.
The nice thing about upgrading from 296 to this is when you are on a call and the backlight times out, the screen and everything but the 4 buttons on the trackpad row go dim. So if its dark you can still find these 4 buttons rather easily. I just wish I could figure out this mute issue.
I have a Bold 9000 on the AT&T network running v5.0.0.464. I'm having a problem with the Mute button (on top). I use the button to put the device into sleep/hibernation/whatever. I have had this problem with three devices (all 9000's) and have had each replaced because I was told that it was a hardware error by the AT&T rep. However, I have done some testing on additional devices (corp. environment) and have been able to reproduce the issue, or more accurately stated, I have been able to observe the issue occurring on each device in my test group over time.Basically, when the device is new, the button works very snappy. Over time, looks like 2-3 months, the button begins to show intermittent issues and takes longer and longer being held down to activate the function (starting or sleeping). Eventually, this function has quit working on every device I've tested (out of the box devices with no apps beyond the delivered ones installed). Removing the battery repeatedly and on a regular schedule of once a week has not had an impact on the issue during testing or in Prod. Being new to supporting these devices I looked around and did some searching but haven't found a solution that has worked for our situation.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have tried looking before posting this but I can't find anything to help me. I upgraded to 5.0.0.545 and my mute key no longer puts my phone into standby mode. How can I lock the keyboard when I put my phone into my purse now? Is this OS filled with bugs or is it actually better?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have been a BB lover for years. My Curve 5320 served me well and I loved it. When the new Bold 9700 was released I was one of the first to get it b/c businesses were offered the opportunity to get it before individuals. I was so excited about 3G, it's sleek look, etc. My excitement has officially crashed and burned. When placing calls it will fail repeatedly before even dialing the number. It will fail during calls up to 5 and 6 times in a few minute period, which is HORRIBLE during business calls. It will lock up when I'm trying to move between apps, it will spontaneously shut itself off. I'm feeling like my BB is possessed. This is my second 9700. The first the E key would stick or repeat 20 times on a text and the calls would fail, so they diligently sent me a new one. Thankfully, I no longer have to edit every text for 100 e's (i'm stopping @ theeeeeee storeeeeeeeeeee is theeeeeeereeeeeee anything you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed), but the failed calls thing is really pissing me off! Also, the volume on calls is really low in comparison to my Curve. To top it off, the 3G speed seems as slow as, if not slower than my former EDGE. I am hoping and praying that a software upgrade will fix all of these issues, but if it doesn't are there any suggestions as to what i can do? Other than switching to an iPhone? I for one happen to love my Qwerty keyboard and am not exactly fond of the on-screen keyboards.
