my iphone 4 (ios 5.1) doesn't make a sound on it's speakers when receiving a call or using app.however music plays on speakers as well as some apps like "magic piano". Internet uses speakers correctly, too. vibration works when getting a call, but no sound. turning vibration off doesn't make a difference.testing the ringtone works fine, too, but i don't hear it during a call.when using headphones all apps produce the sound they should and incoming calls play the ringtone, too. changing volume level doesn't make a difference.during a call i can turn on loudspeakers without a problem. mute works as expected, too. but no matter what i do, all incoming calls stay silent and most apps and system sounds like keyboard clicks are muted. i missed numerous calls because of that, so how can i turn the sound back on?
iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1) -- Found 4 Face time calls listed as missed, but I never received any audible alert that a call was attempted When I discovered the missed calls, had my husband call me on Face Time and it rang through properly. The 4 missed calls were all from my daughter, who is listed in my contacts; all came in one after the other (not at different times).
When I change the position of the Mute/Silent switch, I get the icon to change (either the bell or the bell with the line through it), but the phone continues to right and never goes on silent. If the icon changes, it seems the switch must work physically, right? As far as I know, I haven't changed any settings.
I have a problem with my x10 mini pro. Most of the times, while in call it is going to mute.. I am using the phone very close to my ears and i can see it is blank when i take out to see whether it is in mute or not. whether there is any existing remedy for this or someone can raise a request to sony ericsson to have mute as a hard key or in a menu form like it is present in normal mobiles?
I have a samsung galaxy 6 and all incoming calls are setting my ringtone to mute. I put my ringtone volume as high as it will go. Then I call my phone. Sometimes it will ring once with volume before it magically sets my ringtone to mute, but regardless, ever incoming call sets my ringtone to mute by the 2nd or 3rd ring.
I'm still waiting to get my iPhone 4 in the mail. In the mean time I had a couple questions about facetime someone can hopefully help me out with. since facetime is supposed to be wifi only (for now) is it possible to start and execute a facetime call without a data plan (or with cellular data turned off)? I would assume so. What about starting a facetime call without ANY minutes or without a SIM card? If it's over wifi, do you even need minutes or a phone number? I would love to basically use facetime as you would use skype or ichat. I don't want to give my phone number away or need someones phone number to facetime. I just want to videochat over wifi. Also, I heard something about needing a text messaging plan in order to start a facetime call or an international facetime call, is this true? What about international facetime calls? Let's say I'm in the states and want to facetime with someone in London, do I need to have international calls enabled to face time or will absolutely ZERO (0) minutes be used if i directly start the call as a facetime call?
I can call my phone from my mac but i can not call my mac from my phone. The mac will ring once then it will show busy. Is there a setting to increase the number of rings?
I just got the BB Torch 9800. It's my first touchscreen phone, so I'm sorry if this has been discussed before. While I'm on a phone call, the following buttons automatically appear on the touchscreen: Mute, Hold, Speaker Phone, and Add Recipient. I have yet to complete a phone conversation without hitting one of these buttons with my cheek. I cannot for the life of me find a way in Options to stop these buttons from appearing during phone calls.I am actually considering returning the phone over this.
I just got a new iPhone 4s, the problem is i can't find the FaceTime icon in the settings nor in the calls, i can find it and use it on my other iPhone, i don't think because my location, because both of them are in the same area. Is there any way that i can activated FaceTime?
When making or receiving voice calls via my network operator's service, no one can hear me, i.e my audio input. I can hear the person on the other end of the phone fine but they can't hear me whatsoever. However when I use the likes of viber, skype and facetime, my audio input is perfectly fine and the person on the other end of can hear me. Note both viber and skype calls work just fine and 2 way communication is audible regardless if I have a 3G or Wifi connection. Plus I have full signal bar strength when near a mobile tower so that eliminates antenna issues. Also have taken alternative turns to cover both the top mic and the bottom mic during a viber or skype call and my audio input can still be heard. I've done a reset, a hard reset of the phone and a reset of the network settings, still to no avail. Have updated iOS to the latest version 5.1.1.
Yesterday I changed my Apple ID Password. Since then when I try to make a FaceTime Audio call from my iPad or my iMac it get a Call Failed Using iPhone message. Â
My iPad sees my iPhone as far as using the Hotspot and FaceTime has my phone number listed as the one to use. Â
I have my FaceTime set up on both devices, wifi on full bars, but it says FaceTime failed when I call. I also call from both devices at once and it makes no difference. I know the information is correct.
I just got this iPhone yesterday. I've never had a Smartphone (and I'm 23; crazy right?) so while I'll catch on quickly there's some stuff I'm missing. Today I went to watch a video in Viddy (app). I had the phone set to silent (volume all the way down, Mute/Vibrate Button switched to ON where the orange dot is showing) yet the video came in playing loud as can be.I wanted to check on how I could mute everything (apps included) so that if I'm ever in a more quiet place wanting to watch a video, they won't come on loudly.
all of a sudden there is no sound from the phone , no music , the volume keys stop working, n then suddenly it starts working.. its pretty annoyin , specially when i connect my phone to mar car aux .. it has been happening since yesterday.. hopefully i get some good advice here, otherwise i will have to go to the service center..
I've been having this problem since Sept 2011.. when I place a call, the receiving end cant hear me (they can if I either put it on speaker or use a headset), I just noticed (Ive just upgraded to ios 5.1.1) that the mute icon is always on and just gets highlighted when I press it.. either way (highlighted or not), I'm always still on mute.
Why does my 4s phone mute itself? I also have a hard time hanging up after a call. The screen goes blank like it's in a sleep mode. I have to use 2 hands to make it hang up--one to hold the home button and the other to hit the end bar. I've "Reset All Settings" in General Settings like other posts have suggested. This worked for a short period of time but now the phone is back to muting itself. Why does this happen?
