IPhone :: Cannot Find FaceTime Icon In Settings Or Calls On 4S
May 29, 2012
I just got a new iPhone 4s, the problem is i can't find the FaceTime icon in the settings nor in the calls, i can find it and use it on my other iPhone, i don't think because my location, because both of them are in the same area. Is there any way that i can activated FaceTime?
iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1) -- Found 4 Face time calls listed as missed, but I never received any audible alert that a call was attempted When I discovered the missed calls, had my husband call me on Face Time and it rang through properly. The 4 missed calls were all from my daughter, who is listed in my contacts; all came in one after the other (not at different times).
I have been givin an iphone but at the moment it doesn't have a sims card in it. Because of this I have been using it as an Ipod. I used to be able to use and call on facetime but recently I have found out that I cannot find it nor use it.
I just got a replacement iphone 4. On my first iphone 4 the microphone would not work on speaker phone or face time. I’ve had my new replacement phone for two days. I tried the microphone on speaker phone and it worked. I tried to connect with face time to my wife’s iphone 4 tonight. I placed a call and after I connected I looked and there is no face time button. I had my wife call me and push the face time button (yes I know it’s not really a button) on her phone it displayed connecting but it would not connect to my phone or show on my phone that there was a face time attempt. We are both on wifi and have a good cell signal. I tried to do face time through the phone contacts and the contacts icon.
I have somehow lost the icon for "contacts". My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!
An iphone 4s without facetime! I bought an iphone 4s from a retailer, i found out that the iphone 4s was originally came from UAE with a carrier etisalat. so called etisalat and i was informed by the Representive that the facetime was really banned in the country and was remove with the IOS 5.0.1 as defualt but they also verified that the iphone is factory unlocked, then i was advised that all i need to do is to restore the my iphone and i will have my facetime back since it is not banned in this country (Hongkong). so I tried to update my iPhone to iOS 5.1 however facetime setting still missing! check restriction no facetime, check phone setting and theres no facetime activation option. tried to factory reset the phone and choose country and region facetime still not available. So what i did is called apple and i talk to apple care Representative a very rude Agent and loves to Interupt his customers. i was told that whenever i update or restore my iPhone it contact the UAE apple server. and it doesn't make any sense im not in UAE im in Honghong. So i ask the rep. what can we do to make itunes contact hongkong or singapore apple server instead. Apple cannot give me a direct answer. So ask him if it something to with IMEI , Model or Serial Number, and they cannot give a direct answer again..... Come on Apple whats the sense of you releasing a factory Unlock if theres a Restrictions i Know that it the Law of UAE but you should do something About based on the location of the Customer....
I bought a new iPhone 4S and it seems that it misses the FaceTime functionality. I googled alot and all the solutions didn't fit my scenario, it doesn't appear anywhere, not in settings, not in Settings -> Phone, not in Settings -> General -> Restrictions and not in the contacts.I even checked in which country this phone should be in to make sure it's not for countries that doens't allow FaceTime at all and I saw that it was intended to be used in North America so this is not the case.
I'm still waiting to get my iPhone 4 in the mail. In the mean time I had a couple questions about facetime someone can hopefully help me out with. since facetime is supposed to be wifi only (for now) is it possible to start and execute a facetime call without a data plan (or with cellular data turned off)? I would assume so. What about starting a facetime call without ANY minutes or without a SIM card? If it's over wifi, do you even need minutes or a phone number? I would love to basically use facetime as you would use skype or ichat. I don't want to give my phone number away or need someones phone number to facetime. I just want to videochat over wifi. Also, I heard something about needing a text messaging plan in order to start a facetime call or an international facetime call, is this true? What about international facetime calls? Let's say I'm in the states and want to facetime with someone in London, do I need to have international calls enabled to face time or will absolutely ZERO (0) minutes be used if i directly start the call as a facetime call?
I can call my phone from my mac but i can not call my mac from my phone. The mac will ring once then it will show busy. Is there a setting to increase the number of rings?
So I am connected to WiFi and calling a friend in our IT department but I don't have a facetime icon or way to connect it. I'm almost 100% sure I'm on wifi. I have the signal bars.
Any thoughts?
I wouldn't have accidentally deleted the function by using a backup of my phone last night would I have?
The facetime icon is missing on my iPhone's home screen. It is still listed among the apps in my settings, so I don't think I deleted it. How do I get it back?
