Well I got a black berry bold 9790 about a month ago; however, the touch screen stops responding and doesn't work again until I switch the phone off and remove the battery, it doesn't work even I reboot the phone without removing the battery.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy mini pro started behaving weird lately. A few days ago the touch screen stopped working. The phone was not responding to anything but the hardware buttons. I was already prepared to take it to repair, but after 2 days I restarted it and everything was back to normal.This time it worked for about a day and then again...while unlocking it the touch screen went dead. Keeping it turned off for a day "solved" it this time. It can't be a complete hardware defect, otherwise it wouldn't just start working again after some time.

I recently got a 9790 and it was working fine for about a month or so however recently I've noticed that the touch seems to stop responding. I have to do a physical battery pull and then it starts working again. I thought maybe it is a software issue and upgraded to the official 7.0.0.592 yesterday however the problem still remains the same.

I got a call, dried off, used it, and the buttons on the phone became frozen and all touch input was no longer working. I finally soft reset the device by holding down the power button for 15 seconds (ignore the pull down to shut down tile, you can't drag it) and reset and it works again, but I am concerned. A little bit of humidity seems to have knocked it out, but it may be a coincidence.

1. Cold Reboot (Pull battery when device is on)
2. Simple Reboot (Pull battery when device is OFF)
3. Remove battery then, SIM & SD Card, plug in battery then pull it again & put everything back in

At first it was not working of just the odd phone call but since a couple of days ago it seems to happen with every single phone call. If I answer the phone or make a call there is absolute silence from the ear speaker although the person on the other end of the phone can hear me. Therefore, in order to hold a conversation on the phone I have to either activate loudspeaker or use the headset.
