I don't want that functionality on my phone. And RIM doesn't have any other equipment similar to that without touchscreen.I know that exist some applications that permit to lock the screen during a call, but what I really want it's to disable the touchscreen.Is there an official or officious way to do that?

Oct 9, 2012I have updated my OS to 7.1.0 Bundle 2039 and have noticed a few changes. Today my homescreen has a row of icons appeared at the bottom. In the previous version you could turn off the icons and only have a small up arrow shown that you could select to show the icons.

Sep 20, 2012My battery was going on my phone so I went and got the charger and on my return my phone had died. I plugged this in and gave it the 5 mins to charge up a bit. However when this had loaded and turned on - my screen was locked. I clicked the side button to unlock this which asked me to type my password in! It wont allow me to typeit in .... its like my phone doesnt pick up the buttons I am pressing. Jun 3, 2011My BB has been working fine. It's set to ask for a password if its been untouched for 10 mins and I've never had a problem with that. I do sometimes lock the keyboard by pushing the button top left, but again that's never been a problem. Right now the screen is blank. If I push the ball or any keys, nothing happens. If I plug in a charger the clock comes up, but still nothing works. If I remove the charger I then briefly see the screen and if I'm lucky pushing the ball brings up the "device is locked" screen with options saying unlock, emergency or cancel - but it stubbornly refuses to respond to pressing anything else, goes dim and then goes blank again. The battery has lots of power (it wasn't flat but has been charging anyway) and I've tried removing both the battery and sim card several times - all without success.

Sometimes when i restart my device, it won't display the blackberry logo and the progress bar, i just get the blank lit up screen. and after 5 - 10 minutes or so, i use random buttons on the keypad to get the display back, but nothing works. i just see blank screen and lit up keypad. It is taking multiple attemts to unlock my phone.I also observed that when I get to call, to cancel dragging the icon from right to left this is required multiple attempts.i.e many time dragging icon from right to left.
I don't know whether it is software problem or hardware. As I purchased this phone in UK and using it in India, I am not sure how much service I can get in india from SE.I have bill for the mobile too.in other posts somebody told me to remove yahoo and i did the same but didn't find any difference.in short the touch scence is not responsive during unlock and for a while once get the home screen. Aug 24, 2012Does anyone have issues using their Bold 9790 outside, in the open air, when there is a breeze/wind blowing? Or even in the car if the air vents are blowing, even slightly? Whenever I am outside, even if there is hardly any wind, I am unable to send any kind of messages or scroll through menus, as the 'cursor' keeps going back up to the very top of the phone. So if I am trying to send a message, it scrolls right back to the oldest message. I have gone into the settings and made the sensitivity as low as it will go, but it makes no difference.

Oct 30, 2012since i bought this phone in April, its always been giving me SOS mode except for when i orient the phone in a certain way, in certain spots of my room. Other that that, i can't go anywhere in the house, its just SOS. I bought the phone with WIND Mobile. Thinking it was WIND that had the problem, i unlocked the phone to try it with Fido. It's confirmed that it is NOT the wireless carrier that has the problem, its the actual phone itself.
I don't want to believe that I spent $400 to buy the phone and its nothing but an expensive paper weight.
BB Bold :: 9790 Rebooting OS 7.1?
Oct 28, 2012I have had my 9790 for 3 months and about 2 weeks ago I updated the os to 7.1. After I did this I started to have this issue where it would start to reboot on its own, sometimes once a day, sometimes 5 or 6 times in a row and it would drain the battery. Also I noticed the battery level on the screen isn't reflective of what the battery level actually is, it would go from full to red in seconds. its really drive me crazy.
I would do a battery pull and it would be back to 80 or 85 percent. I bought a new genuine blackberry battery to see if that was the issue but still same problems. I wiped the device and re-installed the original os from desktop manager twice and the problem is still there, very frustrating, any one have the same issue and managed to fix it?
BB Bold :: 9790 Keeps Rebooting?
Mar 19, 2012Three weeks ago I got my BB 9790 and I am very happy! Only thing is, it keeps rebooting (about 3 times a week) . I have changed phones 3 times now (within 8 days I get a new phone) but I have the same problem each time. Probably a software thing? Are there any others that have the same problem and maybe a solution?
