My touch screen suddenly stops working. It will not start working again unless I take the batt out.. this only works for a short while however. Many people seems to be having the same problem, my phone is only a few months old and has not been dropped.

I was already prepared to take it to repair, but after 2 days I restarted it and everything was back to normal.This time it worked for about a day and then again...while unlocking it the touch screen went dead. Keeping it turned off for a day "solved" it this time. It can't be a complete hardware defect, otherwise it wouldn't just start working again after some time.

I recently got a 9790 and it was working fine for about a month or so however recently I've noticed that the touch seems to stop responding. I have to do a physical battery pull and then it starts working again. I thought maybe it is a software issue and upgraded to the official 7.0.0.592 yesterday however the problem still remains the same.

I got a call, dried off, used it, and the buttons on the phone became frozen and all touch input was no longer working. I finally soft reset the device by holding down the power button for 15 seconds (ignore the pull down to shut down tile, you can't drag it) and reset and it works again, but I am concerned. A little bit of humidity seems to have knocked it out, but it may be a coincidence.

At first it was not working of just the odd phone call but since a couple of days ago it seems to happen with every single phone call. If I answer the phone or make a call there is absolute silence from the ear speaker although the person on the other end of the phone can hear me. Therefore, in order to hold a conversation on the phone I have to either activate loudspeaker or use the headset.
