i've just upgraded to the blackberry 9700 from a nokia n958gb but texting is not as easy i liked to move down a line or two sometimes when txting but on this phone if i move down it sends the text i know that there is a setting on the storm 2 for you to change the setting of the return key but i dont have that setting on this does anyone know how to do this or am i stuck with what i have at the moment
View 4 RepliesWell for some reason everytime i receive i text message from a friend or some random person, my music stops. As far as I know, on other blackberry device that i had in the past, the storm, tour, curve, the music would keep on going and I would be happy with it. Now since it stops every time, i have to go back to the music player and play it again.

Supposedly, I can hook the usb cable in my cpu and the BB will work as a modem in places that I don't have a wireless connection??? View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever I open up visual voicemail to listen to a message, when it starts to play it at the lowest volume setting, I have to keep clicking the volume button up while the message is playing to get it back up. Very annoying. Also, I have a Jawbone Prime and whenever I connect it to the phone and make a phone call, it always defaults to the lowest volume and I have to do the same thing. Is this some type of bug? I can't figure out how to change the default volume for those, I have volume settings for the phone set to remember the last setting, but it always defaults to the lowest volume when I first connect it.. Then remembers that setting until I disconnect it and reconnect it again. Very weird. Can anybody tell me what's going on?

Right now when I press key lock, my wallpaper shows for a few seconds, but then it switches to the big clock. How to I get it to stay on my wallpaper and not show the clock? We were comparing our devices and founf that at certain area the Storm 2 signal is on 3G with the bb logo but my Bold 9700 signal shows EDGE. But when I change the option at Mobile Network to 3G only, my Bold 9700 is able to lock the signal to 3G, however when I change back Mobile Network to 3G & 2G it goes back o EDGE (not immediately though).
I am currently running OS .680.... Is there a fix to the problem above or it is a known Bold 9700 issue or a known .680 issue. I have not try this with previous OS so not sure if it will acted differently.Any opinion. Am considering downgrading the OS but will wait for feedback first.
This phone goes to a black screen and I have to reboot it. It does this setting still or holster. I have done the update and this didn't fix it.

My Setup Wizard only offers the second option with the BB Enterprise Server. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I realized that the application memory gradually decrease. It does not gain the memory back when I delete the apps. I don't understand but my application memory is under 10 mb. Yes it is very low. I think that's one reason why my bb curve 3g has been slowing. If there is a way to gain the application memory, that'd be such a great help.Because I don't know how to gain back the application memory, I was thinking to reset the phone to factory setting? As in like deleting everything on the phone and so it'd be like when I first got my bb curve 3g.

However, in an attempt to fix the non-responsive screen I re-booted the device to factory settings (advice from EE) and restored the data from off the PC. However, it now seems to sync with my gmail account in preference to my Hotmail and as a result has duplicated all of my contacts. Where do I go to in the BB menus to change the setting back to Hotmail for the sync of organizer and mail?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9780 and my texting app is completely gone. This is the third time it's happened, I'll turn my phone off and when I turn it back on my texting is gone. I've done a universal search on my phone for my texting and there were no results. I can still get texts through my messages folder, but my phone doesn't vibrate and it doesn't flash red. It usually lasts for about a month and then I'll randomly turn my phone off and when I turn it back on my texting will be back.
This is absolutely outrageous and incovenient, seeing as I use texting more than BBM or any other means of communication.I've talked to my service provider, they've told me that the only way I'd get it back is a security wipe, which is also inconvenient and poses the risk of just losing my texting again in another month- in addition to losing all of my bbm contacts (I realize I can back them up but they would have to readd me in their phones), and content.
How to fix auto scroll on my bold 9780 especially when texting it just scroll up it is quite embarrassing.

For some reason, I am able to connect to WiFi, but when I do I am only able to use the internet. I am not able to use the WiFi to make calls or to send texts. My T-Mobile signal is pretty weak, so it would be nice to use the WiFi to make calls and send texts from home and work.

When we're SMSing and I use the emoticons , they don't show up like they're supposed to on her Incredible - she just gets the jumbled text characters, no emoticons . Is this a setting on her end? We've tried everything. If she uses the Incredible's smiley's in tm's to me, they show up fine on the BB Bold . . .

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.
