I signed up for the teathering service today. Supposedly, I can hook the usb cable in my cpu and the BB will work as a modem in places that I don't have a wireless connection??? The At&t cust service said if I plugged it in the computer would walk me through. No such luck.. Any help for a non techee type user.

Can anyone help me? I am trying to tether my BB Bold 9700 to windows 7. I have unl data plan but not "tethering". My BB desktop software does not have the modem feature. Is there a way to do it? If so how?

I called Tmobile and was told that while they no longer support it, it could be done but that Tmobile would not provide me with directions to do so. Is there anyone out there that can give a technology challenged nerd like me step by step instructions to tether my 9700 to my pc with Windows vista. I have searched the forums and cannot find anything that fits what I need, instructions given are for other carriers than Tmobile and/or for Mac OS or Windows XP. I need info for Windows Vista OS, Tmobile carrier and 9700 blackberry.The blackberry desktop manager gives me the following error - unable to detect configured blackberry ip modem device. I have already verified that I do have a dial up modem and that it is working properly.Please help. I know that I can purchase TETHER and more than likely will but would like to learn to do this

I have a portable device (Archos 5 UInternet Tablet) that uses the Android operating system.I want to tether the blackberry and use it as a modem via a Bluetooth connection. I've been onto the BB site and the instructions there speak only of Windows and Mac operating systems. I can pair the BB to the Archos but it won't connect and the Archos reports that the BB will not support tethering.Can anyone help me fix this?
I had a curve, was able to use it with my laptop. Is there a way to use the bold so I can get internet on my laptop.?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make some sense out of the slow modem speeds I am getting on the 3G network. Below is a comparison between the different methods tried and the results. The SIM was transferred into a Sierra wireless card, then the speeds took off. All tests were tried at the same time of day, to the same servers, with IP header compression turned off for the BB connection, all on the 3G networks. I even tried a Rogers SIM for comparison where I could. Changing "modem speeds" on the link to the BB made no difference.
Normally I may just accept the differences, but I am looking to have about 25 users connect this way, to save on having a PCMCIA card or USB, as well as a separate data account. I have connected my notebook to the 9700 via Bluetooth and a USB 2.0 connection. My 9700 is connected to the Telus network, software version 5.0.0.442 (726)...

Can do this with my Dell internal modem, but the company does not pay for long distance on my land line. Every thread I have read is always tethering for using to connect to the internet. View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever I open up visual voicemail to listen to a message, when it starts to play it at the lowest volume setting, I have to keep clicking the volume button up while the message is playing to get it back up. Very annoying. Also, I have a Jawbone Prime and whenever I connect it to the phone and make a phone call, it always defaults to the lowest volume and I have to do the same thing. Is this some type of bug? I can't figure out how to change the default volume for those, I have volume settings for the phone set to remember the last setting, but it always defaults to the lowest volume when I first connect it.. Then remembers that setting until I disconnect it and reconnect it again. Very weird. Can anybody tell me what's going on?

Right now when I press key lock, my wallpaper shows for a few seconds, but then it switches to the big clock. How to I get it to stay on my wallpaper and not show the clock? Please verify your desktop installation is configured correctly and restart the desktop." Tried installing and uninstalling many many times but to no avail. Can anyone out there shed some light?
