Aug 22, 20141) I can not connect to the intenet/wifi at home. Had the update go through on the 18th and since then,it will not connect. Connects everywhere else. Went to a Tmobile store and they backed up everything and did a reinstall. Still wont work. Building has reset the router. Says secured, WEP, but wont connect and then goes and shows disabled.
2) When it was reinstalled, now I can not skip two spaces when texting or in emails and then the period inserted and next letter is capitalized. How do I get that back...

Mar 3, 2010For about a week my phone has been adding extra periods and spaces when I press the space bar. This has been happening with SMS, MMS and email. I knw about that short-cut (press the space bar twice to enter periods) but its doing that after almost every word. I have changed the sensitivity to the lowest setting possible but it continues to do it, even when i text slow. Not sure as to what I should do.

Mar 12, 2010I just got the storm 2 and there are two things that annoy me, one is the enter button sends my text messages and on my curve that button made a new paragraph. My question is how do you drop down a line (make a new paragraph) when texting on the storm 2?I understand the OS 5.0.32 doesn't have the feature to turn off the enter button from sending, hope verizon releases an os update soon.

Jan 21, 2010Well for some reason everytime i receive i text message from a friend or some random person, my music stops. As far as I know, on other blackberry device that i had in the past, the storm, tour, curve, the music would keep on going and I would be happy with it. Now since it stops every time, i have to go back to the music player and play it again.

May 31, 2010Since today i can't enter my Homescreen or menu. If i press the menu button nothing happens (no it's not locked) if I hold the menu button the "running app popup appears and i can open the running apps" if I press the back button i'll get a white screen..(today i upgrade my Doc. to go and since then i'm expiring the problems)
I tried Batt. pull and I went back to a older back-up but it is'nt working.

Jan 18, 2010I have been given my new 9700 device. Great! But I like to switch languages and before I used the ALT-ENTER shortcut to do this. Now, when I try this shortcut, it locks the BB Does anyone know how I can disable this? I've gone to Languages and changed the following:
Input language shortcut: ALT-ENTER
Enable Quick Selection: YES
But it still locks the keyoad whenever I try this

Feb 7, 2010All incoming SMS/text messages appear under the contact name and number of the previous sender - no reference to the ID of the latest sender - is anyone aware of a solution? My 9700 is running v5 0.0.423 (platform 5.1.0.116). problem only appeared when I connected up to sync with my PC.

May 12, 2010I bought a Bold 9700 about a month ago and everything was fine un til I had to call T-Mobile to get an exchange about a week ago. I got my new Blackberry 9700 but the only problem is, when I set my password and enable it, the phone doesn't prompt me to enter the password whenever I unlock the phone. It only asks if I go to settings>password lock or when I reboot the phone. I'm new here, and I apologize if this has been posted before.

When we're SMSing and I use the emoticons , they don't show up like they're supposed to on her Incredible - she just gets the jumbled text characters, no emoticons . Is this a setting on her end? We've tried everything. If she uses the Incredible's smiley's in tm's to me, they show up fine on the BB Bold . . .

May 11, 2010Every time I try to call a number (LAN LINE) that has a block on unidentified callers, I get the message "The number you are calling does not accept unidentified calls please enter your 10 digit phone number" The funny thing is that this problem just started to happen. A week ago it was fine. When I do call a number that is not blocked, my number comes up correctly on the caller ID but shows as unidentified. Sometimes, it shows up as international.Now, funny thing is that if I put my SIM in my Pearl, I can make calls no problem. There are two settings on the Bold under general options. One is called "Restrict My Identity" In this case, I have have it set to NEVER. I have also tried NETWORK DETERMINED, but neither of them make difference. The other setting is called "Show My Number" and this is set to YES.I have talked to AT&T until I am blue in the face. They say it is a problem with the phone and that it needs to be replaced. I hardly believe that. I have a friend with the same phone and it has the same problem.I did see some threads on this before in other forums, but never did see an answer to the problem.Finding a solution would be very nice.Already tried doing a factory reset and a security wipe on the phone.

Jan 23, 2012I own a blackberry 9700 since 2 yrs. I tried for the first time to save my device data on my computer by using the BB Desktop Software. To connect my cell phone and my PC, I had to provide a "password". I typed my device password and then my SIM Card pin #, without any luck. An alert message indicated that this was my last chance to enter the right code, and if I don"t, all my device data would be merely erased.
I also cannot access anymore to my cell phone as long as I don't provide with this "mysterious" password. The point is also that I switched off my device. If turn it on, I will have to type the word "blackberry" first, and then the said password will be requested: at this step is it the SIM card PIN # or necessarily the device password?
I didn't use my cell phone for several weeks since that time, so scared to do a wrong thing. When I just tried to reload the battery, I saw the phone doing like a "reset". Then I took off the battery to stop the process. Did I do something wrong? Is it now too late to get back my data?
BB Bold 9700 :: Is Your Lock Button Hard To Push?
Jan 12, 2010So all of a sudden I find myself having to push pretty hard to lock the phone. Not sure if It was dropped and something happened but I remember being able to tap the top of the phone with ease, just like the mute button on the right side, now there is a very noticeable difference.Anybody having this issue? I hate to sound like that guy who is super anal about his phone, I swear I'm not that guy, but this is just bothering me.

May 8, 2015I upgraded my Z3 dual using PC companian and I am getting worst of worst battery life which lasts hardly 8 hours with a average 2 hours on screen by using only one sim....Don't recommend me to turn off my mobile data, live wallpaper etc etc...I don't need two days of back up as advertise, I only need atleast one day...
And my question is can I downgrade it to KitKat without rooting my phone??? When I used Sony Emma software to connect my phone with PC it showed that your phone is locked and to enable the functions you have to unlock your phone....
And the other doubt is how can I enter into recovery mode to hard reset my phone??? I tried with a lot of button combinations and all are resulted in normal boot up..And tell me any othere ways to regain my battery back up without downgrading if there is any ( even I don't think so )

Feb 26, 2010I just upgraded to 5.0, which was painful enough in the first place, but I _HATE_ this new feature."the ability to send an SMS text message with the press of the Enter key."This isn't Twitter.I would like to put more than one line in an SMS message.Does it just _look_ like it is sending, or am i overloading the friends of mine that don't have unlimited messaging.What a brain dead feature to invoke with no option to turn it off. "ability" makes it sound optional, but i can't find the option.And I don't want to put emoticons into what should be a text-only messaging system!

Sep 1, 2011I just updated my BB 9700 for the first time (511 updates to be exact). The upgrade is currently at 11 out of 12 upgrades and it is taking about 45 minutes to initialize before it gives me the message: "The desktop loader is unable to connect to the device, you may need to enter a password on the device."
The BB is not asking for password and I do not have any password protection on it. I have unplugged the USB from computer and the phone, reconnected and clicked retry and it continues to give me the same message 45 minutes later. I am freaking out a bit because it cleared all my contacts off and I believe the process it is trying to do is to restore that information.

May 6, 2012I'm running across this issue which might be difficult to explain so bear with me. When I send text messages to people who don't have a smartphone/iphone, if the last word of the text appears on it's own line within my message box then it will send that last word to the recipeint as a separate text message. it does this even if the text is really short and definitely hasn't reached the 140/160 character count max. I'm not sure if this occurs with those that have smartphones. Does anyone know if there is a setting I'm missing/could change to get this to stop? My fiance is getting really annoyed with it.
