All incoming SMS/text messages appear under the contact name and number of the previous sender - no reference to the ID of the latest sender - is anyone aware of a solution? My 9700 is running v5 0.0.423 (platform 5.1.0.116). problem only appeared when I connected up to sync with my PC.

When someone sends a group text message, how do I respond ONLY to the original sender? When I respond now....it goes to everyone.

Here is my problem: if I receive an sms from someone, any other sms sent to me afterwards will appear as if they were sent from the 1st person. i.e. the contact number or name of the others will not show.thus if I also compose an sms, it will show the contact number of the 1st sms received. I can only send to another contact if I delete that 1st sms received and then compose a new one, after which the newly selected contact will show.

I think it is crazy that all recipients need to see yes or no answers & sometimes pay for all the additional texts. Likewise, I hate that you have to send a separate text back to the sender. There should be an easy fix, like reply or reply all. Does anything like this exist? Iphone 4S, iOS 5.1.

The Bold 9700 has a big prblem with its SMS service because it only shows the 1st sender only and I always think messages coming are from the same guy!! I can not answer because I am not sure of the sender as it doesn't show! what shall I do?

As far as I know, on other blackberry device that i had in the past, the storm, tour, curve, the music would keep on going and I would be happy with it. Now since it stops every time, i have to go back to the music player and play it again.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi've just upgraded to the blackberry 9700 from a nokia n958gb but texting is not as easy i liked to move down a line or two sometimes when txting but on this phone if i move down it sends the text i know that there is a setting on the storm 2 for you to change the setting of the return key but i dont have that setting on this does anyone know how to do this or am i stuck with what i have at the moment

View 5 Replies View RelatedIf like me you cant unlock your Bold after the latest update - what they haven't told us that you can now lock and unlock the bold by pressing the top left of the phone, this toggles the button lock on and off - no idea how you lock the phone with your own numbers now, so I cant see how this is an improvement at all, seems like asecurity flaw to me! Nice if they told us what the upgrades would do!

View 6 Replies View RelatedDespite putting the very latest firmware on my 9700, the email Settings Application ( in Setup Folder - Email settings) still takes me to a browser based setup on the BIS . my old 8900 and my work 9700 has an application type interface.. Why is this a problem ? Because it wont let me setup gmail Contact sync .. Keeps giving me a message "To start xxxxxxxx@gmail.com contacts synchronization with your BlackBerry® device, complete the security activation on your device:
1. In the Setup folder, log in to the Email Settings application.
2. After you log in, the security activation starts. When security activation is complete, wireless synchronization of your contacts with your device automatically begins."
This does not work and I'm guessing because i dont have the latest email settings on the device.. I have tried re-installing firmware , wipes etc..
I cannot find the BB App World icon. I think it disappeared after I downloaded the latest version. I have deleted and re-downloaded. I have looked in every folder. I have downloaded and replaced the existing version. I have re-booted by taking the battery out, etc. The software is in my applications. I have gone through every folder clicking on show all also.

There are some icons showing up at the very top of my bar that aren't obvious and from what I can tell this is the 'notifications bar'. Things such as e-mail are obvious, but there are other ones I can't exactly distinguish. Is there a goto reference chart so I know what these notifications are? And is there a quick way to access these notifications so they take me to the respective app so the notification is removed?

These 50 to 70 messages per month serve no purpose but to increase my phone bill. I have asked my carrier (Movistar), who has told me there is no way to block the sender (obviously: my carrier is happy with the fact that 10% of my phone bill comes from these SMS messages). Any way to block a specific sender?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got this problem after i upgrade my bold to OS 5.0.0.411 .I received 1 txt message and everything seemed fine.. at least I thought so ;A bit later I got a second txt (SMS) message but the content of the msg didn't make any sense as it seemed only relevant to another person in my contacts...
I had one sms in my SMS/MMS inbox and all SMS that came in after that appeared to be from the same person although they weren't! .... In other words, I get the threaded SMS but showing ALL incoming messages as being from the same person (the first one that sent me SMS after I installed the OS 5.0.0.411)!

I have an Z2 and my boyfriend has the Z3 compact and gets the same error - he tried to reset the phone and the error still ocurred.
Is there a way to take a few images from the gallery or Google pix and put them in a homepage folder for ultra quick reference? I have a couple pix that I often have to refer to but they are currently really deep on the list and have to significantly scroll to get to them.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a 9780 and my texting app is completely gone. This is the third time it's happened, I'll turn my phone off and when I turn it back on my texting is gone. I've done a universal search on my phone for my texting and there were no results. I can still get texts through my messages folder, but my phone doesn't vibrate and it doesn't flash red. It usually lasts for about a month and then I'll randomly turn my phone off and when I turn it back on my texting will be back.
This is absolutely outrageous and incovenient, seeing as I use texting more than BBM or any other means of communication.I've talked to my service provider, they've told me that the only way I'd get it back is a security wipe, which is also inconvenient and poses the risk of just losing my texting again in another month- in addition to losing all of my bbm contacts (I realize I can back them up but they would have to readd me in their phones), and content.
How to fix auto scroll on my bold 9780 especially when texting it just scroll up it is quite embarrassing.

For some reason, I am able to connect to WiFi, but when I do I am only able to use the internet. I am not able to use the WiFi to make calls or to send texts. My T-Mobile signal is pretty weak, so it would be nice to use the WiFi to make calls and send texts from home and work.

Every time this happens they have to do something on there end to get my text messaging going again. I KNOW this is not the answer.

I called my local provider and they told me to delete the contact but that person still comes up at the top title even after they are deleted.

When we're SMSing and I use the emoticons , they don't show up like they're supposed to on her Incredible - she just gets the jumbled text characters, no emoticons . Is this a setting on her end? We've tried everything. If she uses the Incredible's smiley's in tm's to me, they show up fine on the BB Bold . . .

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
