Apr 22, 2010If like me you cant unlock your Bold after the latest update - what they haven't told us that you can now lock and unlock the bold by pressing the top left of the phone, this toggles the button lock on and off - no idea how you lock the phone with your own numbers now, so I cant see how this is an improvement at all, seems like asecurity flaw to me! Nice if they told us what the upgrades would do!

Jul 14, 2010Despite putting the very latest firmware on my 9700, the email Settings Application ( in Setup Folder - Email settings) still takes me to a browser based setup on the BIS . my old 8900 and my work 9700 has an application type interface.. Why is this a problem ? Because it wont let me setup gmail Contact sync .. Keeps giving me a message "To start xxxxxxxx@gmail.com contacts synchronization with your BlackBerry� device, complete the security activation on your device:
1. In the Setup folder, log in to the Email Settings application.
2. After you log in, the security activation starts. When security activation is complete, wireless synchronization of your contacts with your device automatically begins."
This does not work and I'm guessing because i dont have the latest email settings on the device.. I have tried re-installing firmware , wipes etc..

Jun 23, 2010I cannot find the BB App World icon. I think it disappeared after I downloaded the latest version. I have deleted and re-downloaded. I have looked in every folder. I have downloaded and replaced the existing version. I have re-booted by taking the battery out, etc. The software is in my applications. I have gone through every folder clicking on show all also.

Jul 28, 2012i live in saudi arabia but i was in US for a month and i used T-mobile sim card then 4 days ago i came back to my country (saudi arabia) and ever since i came back i was trying to access my device using my saudi (zain) sim card i used to use before i go to America !!!but the phone keeps asking me the blackberry ID and i type it correctly and i type the password correctly untill i exceded the number of trials ! so i went for changing the password it sent me an e-mail for changing the password and it all went alright untill i returned to my phone trying the new password and it tells me this massage(unable to login to your blackberry ID)why!
the second problem is that ever since i returned to my country i no longer have the e-mails icon anymore i used to have it before i go to US and during my stay in US too but now it disapears and i tried to set up my e-mail and it tells me sorry we are temporarly unable to authurise your e-mail something like that i don't remember?

When I receive a new email I go to click into the message but when its loaded it from a previous email and not the email I am trying to access. Feb 2, 2010I had my Bold 9700 delivered from Saudi Arabia. I was absolutely in love with the phone with its incredible speed and my favorite thing about it was the 3G network. It worked absolutely great in Egypt. When I moved back to the US (Ive been here 3 days now), I can only use T-Mobiles EDGE network. If I search manually for networks, it finds AT&Ts 3G network, but I cant use it since Im T-Mobile and not AT&T. When I went to the T-Mobile store, they told me that since T-Mobile didnt sell me the phone, my phone wouldnt find their 3G network. Any idea what I can do to fix this? The phone is brand new, and its a shame that I cant use its best feature

Adobe Reader could not open "Blackberry Bold 9700- (date) .ipd " because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and was not correctly decoded)
Why is the file saved to Adobe if it is a unsupportable file?
The synchronisation was done as per proceedure and works in other respects. It is not done by e-mail. Who is hiding my calendar - is it BBry or Microsoft?
BBry back up seems to remove ( I cannot ge them in any other Windows location that I can find) all my previous calendar records and then puts them in a file I cannot open!
This either means I have to go back to using a paper diary and therefore can do without a 9700 or any other BBry product - or I go to an entire MAc set -up.

Aug 20, 2012my BB bold 9700 just can't access to my memory card sudendly and I don't know why because everything works ok so far, until yesterday.yesterday I have access to all, music, photos...and today a friend calls me and the ring tone is differente and when I try to change it...no access to memory card, says that don't have none?!!!I try to take the battery off for 5 minutes, put the memory card in my Pc and works fine...I don't understand, it's like if my BB don't have any memory card in!

Aug 13, 2010I have a problem with a new blackberry bold 9700 i have just bought. I live in bolivia and i purchased this phone, asked in the store if it is compatible with my network etc and we tested with my sim. It worked fine for calls and got a 3g signal.When i returned home I tried configuring the internet access andn could not get this to work. So today i took it to my provider and asked a tech to configure and he said that i must first buy a "plan blackberry" for it to work - ok i said ad went to change my plan to plan blackberry - but after i had this the tried to set it up and then tell me that the phone is locked to only use at & t blackberry service.
So my questions are ..
1. - is this true?
2. can i unlock this somehow?
seems unfair that i have paid full price for a phone that is tied to a network that doesn't exist in my country - it was imported legally - if i cannot change it.
BB Bold 9700 :: Unable To Access Home Screen
Jun 1, 2010I figured this maybe a simple case of reloading the firmware but I wanted to know id nyone else had any insights.
Basically I can't get to the home screen, I have a password on my phone, soon as I try to unlock it the phone locks up.
I've done a battery pull and removing the SD card and the SIM but no joy.
But if I use the phone to make calls its fine.
Its really weird to say the least.
It could be the password causing it, is there anyway for me to disable the password outside of the phone itself? Such as using desktop manager? Or should I just bite the bullet and update the firmware?
