I'm having a bit of trouble deciding between the Nexus One and the Blackberry 9700. I've heard some problems with the Nexus One and the Blackberry 9700 seems to work perfectly fine, no problems at all. My phone will be used mostly for web browsing, sms and mms, and email (gmail). Which phone do you think is best for me? Anyone own both, care to share? Also either phone will be replacing my computer, since mine broke. If there are already posts about this, I'm sorry just trying to get some help quickly because I don't have access to a computer for to long so I have to make up my mind quickly
Attempted various browser settings options and still unable to access secure(https) websites... the message ""... Returned an error when attempting to fulfill your request... I have also attempted access through opera mini, here I manage to get to the https site however the login process fails. Appreciate your guidance in resolving this.. N.B. I had no such problems with my old Nokia E71 ... I was hoping my new BB 9700 is an upgrade...
So I connected my 9700 to my Wireless router and it shows me that the connection is successfull but if I turn off my Mobile Network to just access the net via Wi-Fi nothing seems to be happening as if there was no connection.I tried doing the battery pull but no help
The synchronization between my computer and my Bold 9700 say "progressing"... for the last 30 minutes...I really start to believe that Blackberry is a bad product... if is not a problem with synchronization is my tablet or my phone...I had installed version OS 6... Please let me know if you have any suggestion or a fix... I need to have my information on both sides...(computer and phone Bold) ASAP....
I recently got my first blackberry bold 9700 and have started experiencing problems with the emails. When I receive a new email I go to click into the message but when its loaded it from a previous email and not the email I am trying to access. Then if I know I do not want to open the email and just delete when I click to delete it deletes a previously saved email or bbm message.
Bold 9700 -When I try to turn on wi-fi, the check box will appear checked for a few seconds and then just disappear, leaving the wi-fi off. When trying to search for wi-fi network, I get a message asking me to turn on wi-fi to perform scan; I click ok, then after 20 seconds or so, an error message appears stating that wi-fi can"t be turned on.
When i connect my bold 9700 to my computer with the usb, the manager pops up and everythings fine. My only questions is that i cant eject safely with the windows safe removal tool. IS there any way to eject safely, or does it not matter?
When I send emails from my computer....they show up on my blackberry. Is their a setting to change this? Its kinda annoying, and dosnt really make sense...
How do i get pics off my bb onto my laptop?I put the usb cable into my laptop then the other end into my bb, then it said insert the disk that came with the bb, which i did.It says its successfully installed the software, but i cant find nothing on my laptop.I thought it would be the same process as with a digi camera, plug the usb into your laptop and camera then a pop up comes up saying do you wanna put pics from your cam to your laptop. What am i missing?
can we use one computer to switch two old devices to the two new ones (via the switch device wizard)? Essentially does the desktop software allow me to switch one device, and once that's done can I repeat the process for the other device?
I didn't see a thread that pertained to my problem, so if there is then let me apologize ahead of time for the duplication. Anyway. I have a Bold 9700 and the new version of Desktop manager. I went to transfer photo and video from by BBBold to my computer, but the media manager just throws me into my Roxio and it doesn't recognize the media card in the BB. Worse yet, the computer will show the BB as a removable disk, yet when I clicked on it to try and transfer the file the "old school" way, it then says it doesn't recognize the drive. I'm doing this through transfer cable, my laptop doesn't have bluetooth built in. The old Desktop had a nice, convenient dual window setup where you could just drag files back and forth. If anyone knows how to make the new Desktop manager do that or how I can accomplish the file transfers that apparently Desktop doesn't want me to do, please let me know.
I'm having trouble pairing my Bold 9700 with my computer. I did it once, but had to take it off, and now I can't redo it. I have Windows 7 64-bit. When I try to pair it with my computer, it says it cannot find the driver and only recognizes it as a modem. It doesn't recognize that I'm actually pairing a Blackberry device. As a result, I cannot add it in the Desktop Manager. Got the desktop manager to recognize it. Seems like that was just luck, and everything does seem to work. However, my computer says there is problems with the device as it cannot find 2 drivers. It actually doesn't work at all. It's clearly driver related. It only recognizes it as a modem and a bluetooth remote. Nothing blackberry related. (When I use the USB, it's fine). Just another small problem, every time (or almost) that I connect my phone to my computer and open the Desktop Manager, it tells me some sort of Chinese character support needs to be updated. However, when I tell it ok, and it rechecks to see what needs to be updated, it says no new updates are available.
A bit of a newbie here..Is it possible to use a Bluetooth connection to my laptop in order to utilize the hardwired access internet to my laptop. I am NOT looking to use BB as a modem for my laptop.
What is the easiest way to tether my berry to my laptop? I am a small business owner, and I often do work late at night in my truck, with no access to WiFi. I remember a long time ago seeing a thread on it, but I recall it being slightly complicated/using commant prompt.
I'm about to get a 9700 soon and I have a question When you use Hotmail with this phoneIs there an App that you use to access your hotmail account? Or do yo navigate to hotmail through a web browser and send emails that way? please let me know.
I had my Bold 9700 delivered from Saudi Arabia. I was absolutely in love with the phone with its incredible speed and my favorite thing about it was the 3G network. It worked absolutely great in Egypt. When I moved back to the US (Ive been here 3 days now), I can only use T-Mobiles EDGE network. If I search manually for networks, it finds AT&Ts 3G network, but I cant use it since Im T-Mobile and not AT&T. When I went to the T-Mobile store, they told me that since T-Mobile didnt sell me the phone, my phone wouldnt find their 3G network. Any idea what I can do to fix this? The phone is brand new, and its a shame that I cant use its best feature
The back up files on my lap top (windows 7) cannot be accessed, the note tells me -
Adobe Reader could not open "Blackberry Bold 9700- (date) .ipd " because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and was not correctly decoded)
Why is the file saved to Adobe if it is a unsupportable file?
The synchronisation was done as per proceedure and works in other respects. It is not done by e-mail. Who is hiding my calendar - is it BBry or Microsoft?
BBry back up seems to remove ( I cannot ge them in any other Windows location that I can find) all my previous calendar records and then puts them in a file I cannot open!
This either means I have to go back to using a paper diary and therefore can do without a 9700 or any other BBry product - or I go to an entire MAc set -up.
my BB bold 9700 just can't access to my memory card sudendly and I don't know why because everything works ok so far, until yesterday.yesterday I have access to all, music, photos...and today a friend calls me and the ring tone is differente and when I try to change it...no access to memory card, says that don't have none?!!!I try to take the battery off for 5 minutes, put the memory card in my Pc and works fine...I don't understand, it's like if my BB don't have any memory card in!
I just got the new bold and i put memory card and transfered all my numbers via the DM with no problems BUT my computer wont recognize my memory card(the folder option thing that should pop up) nore will it show a folder in "My Computer".What do i need to do to get it to work?
is it possible to view my text messages or emails on my computer when i connect my blackberry? for example, if i want to print out a conversation i had with someone, how can i do that?
When I work at home, I want to connect my BB Bold 9700 to my PC and use my monitor and my keyboard to send text and emails. After a while, my fingers get cramped using they BB keyboard and there must be a way I can do this. My razor came with software that connected my phone to my PC and you could see everything on your monitor and use your PC keyboard...it was awesome. Surely, there is software with BB that does this.
