BB Bold 9700 :: Switch Two Different Devices On Same Computer
May 26, 2010
can we use one computer to switch two old devices to the two new ones (via the switch device wizard)? Essentially does the desktop software allow me to switch one device, and once that's done can I repeat the process for the other device?
My last BB Bold 9930 took a dip in the river and was never to be found again! I now have a new one and need to "switch devices" without the original device.
I have just got a Bold 9700 and am really starting to like this phone. But I cannot get the bluetooth to work properly. It will pair with my devices but will not connect to them. It says connection failed or connection not supported. It will not connect to my cars built in bluetooth either, I have a new 2010 galaxy and it accepts the cars passkey but will not connect. I Really need my phone to connect to my car. When I go to my paired device list and click on a device I do not get a connect option, which I have been told to use. I am on vodafone in the UK and have contacted them to see if they can help but they tell me they do not help with Blackberry's (funny that when they take my money for it) so I am unsure where to contact now for help.
Since I switched phones from a 9000 to a 9700 I tried doing this through desktop manager. But everything got erased from the 9000 (contacts, everything!) and nothing got uploaded to my 9700. Is there any way I can find the lost info??? I am pretty sure i never did a back up from the 9000. I cant believe I lost all my contacts!!!
I have a blackberry 9700 I've had it for 16 months now. I would say its in the best condition but it was working fine until all of a sudden it switched off. I tried taking out the battery it didn't work I bought a new battery that was fully charged and still nothing happened not even the red light. I have put on charge for a about 1 hour or more some times for the past 4 days and still there isn't any responds. I have taken the battery out for a few hours as well and placed into the phone again and still nothing.
my blackberry bold 9700 which is only about 3 months old, went completely flat this morning, i put it on charge (and its been charging for about 4 hours now) the screen is black, then the red led light comes on, then after a few seconds the horitzontal blackberry line comes on, it gets about 1/4 of the way then it switches off and starts again. i have alt+shift+delete a couple times, i have battery pulled about 20 times, it just continues doing it
I had BB Bold 9700 , I was using it with Du , I cancel my data plan with Du and installed my Etisalat SIM Card.I did not subscribe to Etisalat Plan yet , can I use the Mobile to access my personal email accounts through wireless ONLY until I subscribe with a data plan.
AFTER A MONTH WITH THE 9700 I JUST RAN THE SWITCH DEVICE WIZARD TO PORT SOME APPS AND SUCH FROM CURVE 8310.NOW EVERYTHING ON THE 9700 LOOKS LIKE THE 8310 AND I LOST ALL MY SMS/E-MAILS/ETC BUT THE APPS HAVE ALL SWITCHED OVER(EVEN THE THEME IS NOW FROM THE 8310)I THOUGHT I HAD A HANDLE ON THIS BUT APPARENTLY DO NOT - RAN THE SWITCH BACK WIZARD ONLY TO BE IN THE SAME BOAT AS BEFORE.HOW BAD IS THIS AM I COMPLETELY UNABLE TO RESTORE MY ORIGINAL 9700 SETTINGS?
Well as some of you no who helped me (thanks by the way) I got a white screen on my blackberry baby..so I have a warranty being sent out to me, is there a way I can switch all my information over to the new phone..anyone have to do this, to where you can give me suggestions so this goes smoothly. I had berrybuzz on my phone, will i have to buy it again?
I'm switching from an 8800 to the 9700. When I connected the 8800, whatever it did took a few minutes (it has you connect the old device). Then I connected the 9700 as it asked me to, and that was at least an hour and 15 minutes ago. It says "Task in progress", and on the progress bar it has not moved a millimeter. Like, nothing. I have maybe 30-40 contacts and no extra software, and 3 messenger contacts.
Recently the data on my 9700 will not switch from WiFi to cellular. If it's attached to a WiFi network, everything works fine. However when I leave that network and the BB needs to use EDGE/3G it does nothing. It will not even attempt to transmit or receive unless I do a battery pull. If I leave WiFi off, everything works fine. It is now running OS v6.0.0.668 by AT&T. I just updated to this OS in hopes that it would fix the issue, but no luck.
I've had my Storm 1 since it came out originally, and it looks like it survived a road-side bomb in Iraq; cracked screen and all.A friend of mine got a free replacement Storm 2 which he gave me over the weekend. The phone is mint, I'm just waiting for my Verizon store to get me the battery cover so I can use the phone in everyday use.
My question is this....I saved all the device memory from my ST1 to my DM, and I'm going to transfer it to the ST2...what else do I need to know to switch it over seemlessly; SIM card etc., because the ST1 was my first Blackberry, so I'm not exactly knowledgeable about switching between devices.
I want to switch devices on Blackberry Desktop Manager from a Curve 8330 to an 8520. This will move all data and third party apps as well as the pin. Will this change the phone number as well? I do not have a sim card.
Brand new devices.I have a problem with auto complete text. Once I transfer language from eng to other language with the keyboard shortcut (alt+enter ) the auto text stops working. Furthermore, the option box just disappears from the menu (options - text and languages ) !. Reset by battery removal fixes the problem. But, onces you repeat the above action the auto text complete disappears again...Some bug is there.... tried it with all 5 devices of my office.I contacted my provider- they were not aware of the problem and I demonstrated it to them. They dont know how to solve it...
The synchronization between my computer and my Bold 9700 say "progressing"... for the last 30 minutes...I really start to believe that Blackberry is a bad product... if is not a problem with synchronization is my tablet or my phone...I had installed version OS 6... Please let me know if you have any suggestion or a fix... I need to have my information on both sides...(computer and phone Bold) ASAP....
When i connect my bold 9700 to my computer with the usb, the manager pops up and everythings fine. My only questions is that i cant eject safely with the windows safe removal tool. IS there any way to eject safely, or does it not matter?
When I send emails from my computer....they show up on my blackberry. Is their a setting to change this? Its kinda annoying, and dosnt really make sense...
I'm having a bit of trouble deciding between the Nexus One and the Blackberry 9700. I've heard some problems with the Nexus One and the Blackberry 9700 seems to work perfectly fine, no problems at all. My phone will be used mostly for web browsing, sms and mms, and email (gmail). Which phone do you think is best for me? Anyone own both, care to share? Also either phone will be replacing my computer, since mine broke. If there are already posts about this, I'm sorry just trying to get some help quickly because I don't have access to a computer for to long so I have to make up my mind quickly
How do i get pics off my bb onto my laptop?I put the usb cable into my laptop then the other end into my bb, then it said insert the disk that came with the bb, which i did.It says its successfully installed the software, but i cant find nothing on my laptop.I thought it would be the same process as with a digi camera, plug the usb into your laptop and camera then a pop up comes up saying do you wanna put pics from your cam to your laptop. What am i missing?
I didn't see a thread that pertained to my problem, so if there is then let me apologize ahead of time for the duplication. Anyway. I have a Bold 9700 and the new version of Desktop manager. I went to transfer photo and video from by BBBold to my computer, but the media manager just throws me into my Roxio and it doesn't recognize the media card in the BB. Worse yet, the computer will show the BB as a removable disk, yet when I clicked on it to try and transfer the file the "old school" way, it then says it doesn't recognize the drive. I'm doing this through transfer cable, my laptop doesn't have bluetooth built in. The old Desktop had a nice, convenient dual window setup where you could just drag files back and forth. If anyone knows how to make the new Desktop manager do that or how I can accomplish the file transfers that apparently Desktop doesn't want me to do, please let me know.
I'm having trouble pairing my Bold 9700 with my computer. I did it once, but had to take it off, and now I can't redo it. I have Windows 7 64-bit. When I try to pair it with my computer, it says it cannot find the driver and only recognizes it as a modem. It doesn't recognize that I'm actually pairing a Blackberry device. As a result, I cannot add it in the Desktop Manager. Got the desktop manager to recognize it. Seems like that was just luck, and everything does seem to work. However, my computer says there is problems with the device as it cannot find 2 drivers. It actually doesn't work at all. It's clearly driver related. It only recognizes it as a modem and a bluetooth remote. Nothing blackberry related. (When I use the USB, it's fine). Just another small problem, every time (or almost) that I connect my phone to my computer and open the Desktop Manager, it tells me some sort of Chinese character support needs to be updated. However, when I tell it ok, and it rechecks to see what needs to be updated, it says no new updates are available.
For some reason my iPhone won't connect to my computer or other devices like my in-car radio tuner. It does still charge when plugged into the wall charger but when it's plugged into the computer it doesn't charge or connect at all and doesn't show the connected symbol in the top corner of the phone screen.
I just got the new bold and i put memory card and transfered all my numbers via the DM with no problems BUT my computer wont recognize my memory card(the folder option thing that should pop up) nore will it show a folder in "My Computer".What do i need to do to get it to work?
is it possible to view my text messages or emails on my computer when i connect my blackberry? for example, if i want to print out a conversation i had with someone, how can i do that?
When I work at home, I want to connect my BB Bold 9700 to my PC and use my monitor and my keyboard to send text and emails. After a while, my fingers get cramped using they BB keyboard and there must be a way I can do this. My razor came with software that connected my phone to my PC and you could see everything on your monitor and use your PC keyboard...it was awesome. Surely, there is software with BB that does this.
My wife and I have iPhones, and we also have an iPad. She synced her phone with my desktop for the first time, why i have no idea, but she did. The next day, I synced my iphone with the desktop to put some new music on. When it was done, I had all her apps on my phone. Is there anyway to get the computer to recognize different iPhones and iPads on the same iTunes account and not do that? Had the problem with my iPad too. Got all my phone apps on it and had to do some deleting!
