IPhone :: Group Texting: reply To Just The Original Sender Of A Text?
Apr 19, 2012
How do you reply to just the original sender of a text message that was sent to a group? I think it is crazy that all recipients need to see yes or no answers & sometimes pay for all the additional texts. Likewise, I hate that you have to send a separate text back to the sender. There should be an easy fix, like reply or reply all. Does anything like this exist? Iphone 4S, iOS 5.1.
I receive group texts and wish to reply only to the sender, however when I reply, everyone in the group receives my reply. What do I need to do to remedy this?
Is there a way to set my BB 9000 to delete the original text on emails automatically? It's really a hassle to go through the menu to delete the original text every single time...
I have the 9900 and 3 of my friends I do group text with have iphones and I can't respond to the group texts, it only goes to the individual when I respond. I continue to just send it on the original group text each time so they all receive it, but it shows up as a new text each time to them so starting a new thread. Is there a app I can download somewhere...

I'm having a problem with texting. Send a text to frien and my wife's text and mine will recieve the response. My friend is sending the text only to me... What can I do?
All incoming SMS/text messages appear under the contact name and number of the previous sender - no reference to the ID of the latest sender - is anyone aware of a solution? My 9700 is running v5 0.0.423 (platform 5.1.0.116). problem only appeared when I connected up to sync with my PC.
I am a coach so I would like to set up a distribution group on my phone for texting, can this be done? Found the group part in my contacts, but not sure if that is where you go.
Some of the texts come straight through to the group text while others go to the individual person's text and I have to hit a download button, then once it downloads it goes to the group text. However, some never download and just expire. If I've been gone for awhile it's kind of annoying to go through and click download on each text that didn't go to group.
is there any way, whether through third-party app or perhaps OS 4 "group texting",that i can set up all the numbers into a group, type a message, and just select all quickly and send to all of them?
So I have received 2 group messages in two days. One had 11 people in it, and one had 15 people. I cannot reply for some reason it's greyed out. I have a different one with 8 people in it and it works fine.
I recently bought an M9 and have been loving most of the features. I've used a WindowsPhone for the past ~3 years and wanted something different. For years now, I've been a part of a group text with a few friends. There were no issues with it on my old phone, but I'm running into some issues with the M9.
For example: When I open the group text, there's a bubble that says "Converting to MMS message" every time. This happens even if I just backed out of the message and re-entered it.
Every time I send a message, a loading icon pops up in the middle of the screen. After the loading icon goes away, the message that I sent has another icon inside of it that stays there for a few seconds. Eventually, that icon goes away too. Some of the messages that are sent to me by my friends come through as individual texts with a download link. If I follow the download link, it appears in the group text.
Scrolling through the group message is extremely choppy. Everything else on this phone has been smooth, this is the only thing I've noticed that doesn't load well
Since the new JB update I have lost the ability to group email and group text. I used to be able to go to the "To:" field, type in the group name and click it. Now that is all gone. Is there a way to get it back or is this another JB issue?
When I receive a multimedia group text, the texts only show the originators number and not the other Group numbers.
This phone is a SAMSUNG GALAXY 6, using Android 5.0.2
Other suggested truning on Group Conversation or Group Messaging in the settings , but that option does not appear.
The instructions I received are below , but like I said, it did not show up on the settings. Is there a difference in the Android versions that would cause the menu to be different or the setting to located somewhere else?
1.) Go to main screen 2.) Go to messages 3.) tap MORE AT TOP RIGHT OF SCREEN 4.) SELECT Settings 5.) SELECT MORE SETTINGS 6.) SELECT MULTIMEDIA MESSAGES 7.) TURN GROUP CONVERSATION ON
I got my Nokia Lumi1 1020 about 2 weeks ago. I''m switching from iPhone 4. Whenever I try to text my family (they all have iPhones) I get a can't send message response. This keeps happening over and over.
I sent an iMessage to my husband which he swears he never saw or replied to. (I believe him ) But later this evening, both our phones show a reply that looks as if it was sent from his iPhone immediately after I sent mine. It said something that kind of made sense as a reply, but definitely didn't sound like him. Weird!
I have a question about SMS texts. My Fire Dept sends text messages with the call location and info to our phones. I would like to save the Caller ID to a contact so I can assign a custom text tone. The problem is that every text ID is different. The first was 1 (410) 000-052 and then the next was 1 (410) 000-053.
When I receive a text message, I don't want the name of the sender of the test message to appear on my screen. All I want to see is a small, white number inside of a red circle, attached to my Message icon. I'm sure there is a way to turn off this feature, but I haven't yet been able to figure out how to do it.
