Since today i can't enter my Homescreen or menu. If i press the menu button nothing happens (no it's not locked) if I hold the menu button the "running app popup appears and i can open the running apps" if I press the back button i'll get a white screen..(today i upgrade my Doc. to go and since then i'm expiring the problems)
I tried Batt. pull and I went back to a older back-up but it is'nt working.
I've had my 9700 probably for about 3 weeks now, coming from the 8900. I know the OS is different, so has the shortcut for profiles changed? With my 8900 I could press F, to get to my profiles. And altho I have disabled dial from homescreen on my 9700, pressing F does nothing, however all other shortcuts worked. Am I missing something?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been given my new 9700 device. Great! But I like to switch languages and before I used the ALT-ENTER shortcut to do this. Now, when I try this shortcut, it locks the BB Does anyone know how I can disable this? I've gone to Languages and changed the following:
Input language shortcut: ALT-ENTER
Enable Quick Selection: YES
But it still locks the keyoad whenever I try this
I bought a Bold 9700 about a month ago and everything was fine un til I had to call T-Mobile to get an exchange about a week ago. I got my new Blackberry 9700 but the only problem is, when I set my password and enable it, the phone doesn't prompt me to enter the password whenever I unlock the phone. It only asks if I go to settings>password lock or when I reboot the phone. I'm new here, and I apologize if this has been posted before.

Every time I try to call a number (LAN LINE) that has a block on unidentified callers, I get the message "The number you are calling does not accept unidentified calls please enter your 10 digit phone number" The funny thing is that this problem just started to happen. A week ago it was fine. When I do call a number that is not blocked, my number comes up correctly on the caller ID but shows as unidentified. Sometimes, it shows up as international.Now, funny thing is that if I put my SIM in my Pearl, I can make calls no problem. There are two settings on the Bold under general options. One is called "Restrict My Identity" In this case, I have have it set to NEVER. I have also tried NETWORK DETERMINED, but neither of them make difference. The other setting is called "Show My Number" and this is set to YES.I have talked to AT&T until I am blue in the face. They say it is a problem with the phone and that it needs to be replaced. I hardly believe that. I have a friend with the same phone and it has the same problem.I did see some threads on this before in other forums, but never did see an answer to the problem.Finding a solution would be very nice.Already tried doing a factory reset and a security wipe on the phone.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI own a blackberry 9700 since 2 yrs. I tried for the first time to save my device data on my computer by using the BB Desktop Software. To connect my cell phone and my PC, I had to provide a "password". I typed my device password and then my SIM Card pin #, without any luck. An alert message indicated that this was my last chance to enter the right code, and if I don"t, all my device data would be merely erased.
I also cannot access anymore to my cell phone as long as I don't provide with this "mysterious" password. The point is also that I switched off my device. If turn it on, I will have to type the word "blackberry" first, and then the said password will be requested: at this step is it the SIM card PIN # or necessarily the device password?
I didn't use my cell phone for several weeks since that time, so scared to do a wrong thing. When I just tried to reload the battery, I saw the phone doing like a "reset". Then I took off the battery to stop the process. Did I do something wrong? Is it now too late to get back my data?
I have been trying to find a way to 'hard enter' line spaces when texting so as text can be sent in paragraphs rather than block.

The upgrade is currently at 11 out of 12 upgrades and it is taking about 45 minutes to initialize before it gives me the message: "The desktop loader is unable to connect to the device, you may need to enter a password on the device."
The BB is not asking for password and I do not have any password protection on it. I have unplugged the USB from computer and the phone, reconnected and clicked retry and it continues to give me the same message 45 minutes later. I am freaking out a bit because it cleared all my contacts off and I believe the process it is trying to do is to restore that information.
have a nokia n8 and i installed 3 antivirusbut i was going to desinstalled two but when i start it freezes and i cant even start the menu and i cant desinstall i dont know how to take the battery and i dont want hard reset for the payed games or etc?

Regardless of whether you launch Ovi from the quick launch type thing on the homescreen or on the menu, it doesn't work.
If you attempt to click on the icon on the homescreen, nothing happens.
If you click on it on the menu screen, the clock in the top right corner flickers and nothing happens.
I can't bear another hard reset, but i guess if i have to i will, any ideas?

View 14 Replies View Relatedi've had this happen to my 8900, and thought there was something wrong with the phone, but after doing a official update from t-mobile on mt 9700 the same thing happens. whe doing a battery pull and the phone reboots. only on the main screen (the screen with all the apps and folders) the screen is completely blank or white and the only way i can see the folders or apps is by highlighting them. only happened after i updated it and only happens when doing a battery pull, once i reset the wall paper it will be fine until i do another battery pull. i already uninstalled and reinstalled my blackberry desktop and try to reload and that didn't fix it. anyone had this issue or know how to fix it.

View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to v40, I've compared the new homescreen to the old homescreen and to the old homescreen with v21-31, these are my findings.
- The old homescreen on v40 does not have the email notification that Nokia introduced a short while ago and which was obviously VERY well recieved globally.
- The new homescreen on v40 has kinetic scrolling contacts which is, um, cute. It has the ability to control the music player (What I found to be very buggy, crashing it by simply pressing 'forward' when it's playing a folder with 1 song).
- The new homescreen on v40 does not have calendar and tasks, probably for the space the new music player-thing takes. This was my FAVORITE thing on the homescreen and I am sure I'm not alone.
I truly hope Nokia addresses these issues by either returning the email notifications to the old homescreen or somehow allowing to see the calendar and tasks on the new homescreen. Or both.
