as you know within any screen on the phone when you press and hold the Blackberry button for less than 2 seconds it will bring up a "quick menu". Some icons are ALWAYS listed under this "quick menu" whether they are closed or not, such as BB messenger, Browser etc. Is there any way I can add or remove icons in this quick menu?
View 4 Repliesi have a problem with my bb bold 9780. the folders in the main manu keep changing their names from german to english (my selected language is german). e.g. the games and the application folder, the rest has still its german name. and also there appear new icons, some with a question mark in it (but on top it says sounds), some i don't know. it seems to me, that my bb kind of splits folders and than some of the icons show up in the main menu.
this started yesterday and so i updated my bb. after this everything was fine again. i deleted some of the apps that were installed with the update (Internet, myspace, ...) and after the restart there was the same problem again. i installed some new apps (slide lock, games, themes and password lock) before and some time after the problem started. i don't know if this has any to do with it.
Like the title suggest, every time i try to use the browser to go on a site i get this "unable to connect to the internet please try again" I dont have the BB data plan, but the internet always worked over wifi and yesterday it stopped working and i dont know why. I did a quick pull hoping that would fix the problem but it hasn't. Anyone can help me? Also the bolt browser works over wifi...

i do have data plan and the internet always worked before i update my BB to .714 after update it stopped working and i don't know why..? I did a quick pull hoping that would fix the problem but it hasn't. I also check my "Manage Connection" my Mobile network is "ON" Wi-Fi is "OFF"also the Bluetooth is "OFF" also try to "OFF" my "Mobile Network" and put it "ON" again but nothing same issue happens....
I try to go "Options>Advanced Options>Browser>Default Browser Config and make sure it is set to "Hotspot Browser" but nothing happens...
Anyone can help me?
On my 8350i I can quickly lock my device by holding down the A button. How do I do this on my bold BTW I'm on 9700/5.0.0.714

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a new BB 8330m user (carrier is Sprint).I have an icon for Pocket Express (which came with the phone) on my screen that I can't remove. I have deleted it from the applications list and do not see it in the modules list but the icon still shows.I also have icons that have the "Hide" checked but are not really hidden. The icon looks as though it is transparent.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe drag down quick settings menu has disappeared from my Z3. Dragging down from the top with 2 fingers does not bring the menu down. Neither can I use the notifications at the top right to access the menu. However, I get to the sounds setting panel by using the volume button.
Tried this:Settings > personalization > Quick settings
but I do not see Quick Settings option.
One thing that I miss from CyanogenMod is the ability to add things to the quick settings menu. Is there an app available that will allow you to modify the quick settings menu on stock Android? My phone is rooted so but otherwise it's stock. I don't miss the instability of CyanogenMod, just that one feature, so I don't want to install a custom ROM, I just want to add a couple of things to the quick settings menu.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new bold 9700 to use, instead of my bold 9000. With blackberry desktop manager is used the device switch wizard to transfer everything to my 9700. However when it was done, my email icons were gone. I can only read my emails with the "messages" icon, but not my different email adresses appart. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

If i press the menu button nothing happens (no it's not locked) if I hold the menu button the "running app popup appears and i can open the running apps" if I press the back button i'll get a white screen..(today i upgrade my Doc. to go and since then i'm expiring the problems)

I am experiencing the following behavior in my Xperia:
It is important to notice that I didn't removed such icons, because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. When you remove/insert icons on this panel, they auto arrange in this screen. So it is not possible to leave the screen with these "holes".
This happens when I switch users in the phone. The guest user does not have the same icons than the proprietary, so when I switch back, my icons are not restored. To workaround I have to edit this menu and move any icon, or restart the phone.
I have BIS and a couple of email accounts. I've used this device for years now. This morning all POP email icons disappeared except my Gmail account. How do I get them back?

Regardless of whether you launch Ovi from the quick launch type thing on the homescreen or on the menu, it doesn't work.
If you attempt to click on the icon on the homescreen, nothing happens.
If you click on it on the menu screen, the clock in the top right corner flickers and nothing happens.
I can't bear another hard reset, but i guess if i have to i will, any ideas?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9700 on the Bell Network and have lost all the BB functions. Phone was working fine and then I lost all ability to access email and BBM.
The email icons are there but the BBM icon vanished along with all my other app icons (NHL, Weather, ZoomPass etc.). I've also noticed that the blackberry logo that is usually beside the 3G icon in the top right is also gone. What is weird is that the phone can still make calls, text and browse. Bell data support says everything is fine on there end. I've wiped the unit via JL_Cmder and reinstalled the latest OS 5.0.0.545 and still not working.
Starting when I installed 5.0.0.545, and continuing on .593, and .593 pwncakes hybrid I have this minor problem I did not used to have. On my browser's go to page, the icons for the search options are cut off or missing. See the images below. This did not happen with my stock .293, .405, or any versions I used prior to .545
Is this "normal" or is something a little off with my 9700? I don't think I've wiped it since my .545 install, just upgraded.
Techno help needed again! Can some body please explain; why the small icons (pictures) for my email accounts keep disappearing and re-appearing whenever they choose? More importantly how do I stop them disappearing again?

Go to options>advanced options>service book Then delete the service books for those demo games and the icons disappear, I have done it with both my 8520 and my 9700.
I recently upgraded then downgraded os's and now my email icons are all plain. Usually aol or yahoo icons would show. Also, my 2 gmail account icons I cant seem to get into. I click on them and it just freezes. What am I doing wrong. Even my blackberry messenger contact pictures look blank.

One thing I'm wondering though is can the application icons on the bottom of the main (wallpaper) screen be changed for other applications? This is the default theme that came with the phone, btw. I've seen screen shots of this theme with different application icons. I set up 2 emails on my phone and now my phone has the Messages icon, 2 email icons, SMS/MMS icon, Contacts icon, and Calendar icon. I'd like to be able to switch these around if possible. For instance, I only want to see the "overall" Messages icon, and replace the 2 email icons.

Pressing the Alpha keys doesn't do anything. Only the numbers 0 through 9 are working.Is this an option? I can't seem to find where to turn this on.
