With Glance on my 950 Im only getting the time and date - I can't get the notification icons to show. I have them all set (email, calls, messaging) and have enabled them to show, but they don't.
View 1 RepliesAfter trading in my unlocked 950 for the ATT 950, glance doesnt show SMS notifications. Missed calls, VM, and facebook all show normally on glance. SMS turns on screen and toast notification as normal, just not on glance screen.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI use my phone as my alarm so I keep it plugged in next to me, and I enjoy the glance screen on at night for groggily checking to see if o have to get up or not! I've tried the different colors and night mode, bit don't like any of those.

View 4 Replies View RelatedCan add third party notifications to the slots on Glance, I have just updated my 640 to W10M and I can no longer add them, WhatsApp for instance , when I add it from the list I just get a red cross in the box and notifications don't appear on the glance screen.
The core MS apps still work, phone, ski calendar etc. With double tap to wake absent on the 950 I'm going to have to reconsider upgrading if I can't have glance how I want it too, feels like a huge backward step, meanwhile ill have to go back to 8.1 ...
The Glance screen on my 1020 sometimes needs a few seconds to activate after I locked the phone. At other times, it starts showing the clock instantly. I didn't have this with my 920, where Glance always came on instantly after locking.

Some icons are ALWAYS listed under this "quick menu" whether they are closed or not, such as BB messenger, Browser etc. Is there any way I can add or remove icons in this quick menu?

It is important to notice that I didn't removed such icons, because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. When you remove/insert icons on this panel, they auto arrange in this screen. So it is not possible to leave the screen with these "holes".
This happens when I switch users in the phone. The guest user does not have the same icons than the proprietary, so when I switch back, my icons are not restored. To workaround I have to edit this menu and move any icon, or restart the phone.
I just picked up my E72 phone and I was wondering if there was a quick way to access notifications that come at the bottom of the screen when a new SMS has come in or there has been a missed call. Its really irritating to get an SMS, then when I unlock the phone and scroll using the opti-pad to the tab with new SMS it keeps going passed it. So maybe there is a way around this? Like a shortcut key?

When having text notification sounds, on other phones I know there's a quick button to silence it let's say if it goes off and you're talking to someone. I know from reading so far the only "quick" way to do that is hold down the volume button. Is there literally no other button on the phone that you can just click to silence your notification, while having notifications have a volume. I have a hard time hearing so I tend to leave the notifications/ringtone volume on. With a lockscreen.

It will have lots of times when it doesn't register touch, like when I'm typing, scrolling, or when trying to pull down the quick settings/notification bar, it takes several tries. Also, when I set the phone flat it won't hardly register any touch at all.
I have tried the following to try and resolve it:
- complete factory reset
- changed launchers and keyboards
- making sure screen is clean/fingers aren't cold etc
- changing the long press settings for the phone
Is it possible without root to get rid of these from the notification drawer? I thought initially that s finder was handy but have never used it and what quick connect is (when i click on it all it does is turn bluetooth on??) which is stupid because the bluetooth toggle is directly above it!

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a number of icons/programs on my Torch that are not showing up for some reason. Now of course I've tried selecting "Show All" from the BlackBerry menu, yet none of the missing programs show up.It first started a few months ago, where my Twitter app stopped showing up (even though in BlackBerry App World it showed as installed, yet was no where to be found). I managed a work-around, by using UberSocial, so I didn't bother looking into it. Then I tried downloading Hoot Suite, with again the same problem; App World said it was installed, but the actual program was no where. Now I just had a third program do the same thing, but this one's more important. The actual app for BlackBerry App World is now not showing up; so not only can't I use its barcode reader, but I obviously can't download any programs, or update any.

There are some icons showing up at the very top of my bar that aren't obvious and from what I can tell this is the 'notifications bar'. Things such as e-mail are obvious, but there are other ones I can't exactly distinguish. Is there a goto reference chart so I know what these notifications are? I have 2 blackberry curve 8520 phones. Usually when there are new notifications on facebook or when I have a new email it is displayed on top of the home screen. On the one phone, I have a notification for facebook which I have already checked out, but the notification won't go away. On the other phone, there is an icon that looks a lot like the "earth" on the email icon. I have searched all over this phone - email messages, BBM messages and updates etc.

That way, i don't have to click on the contacts icon and start finding a name.I just took out the battery of my phone & put it in a couple minutes later because of some other issues, & now i can no longer do that anymore! I press buttons when i'm on the home screen and nothing happens; there isn't the convenient shortcut to finding/narrowing down a contact anymore.
