May 30, 2010So i've had my blackberry 8900 for a year now & it's very convenient for me to just press the clicking letters of a contact name and have it narrow down my contacts to the person i want. That way, i don't have to click on the contacts icon and start finding a name.I just took out the battery of my phone & put it in a couple minutes later because of some other issues, & now i can no longer do that anymore! I press buttons when i'm on the home screen and nothing happens; there isn't the convenient shortcut to finding/narrowing down a contact anymore.

Mar 21, 2012I recently downloaded a couple of apps of my Lumia 800 and I noticed that the app list view has been rearranged in to groups by the first letter of the apps name. Although I find it functional and overall it looks well, I'd like to know if this can be turn off. The only downside I see is that I find myself scrolling down a for longer period of time.

Sep 26, 2011The shortcut widget for having shortcuts for apps in the symbian 3 or symbian Anna platform is made for having four shortcuts and nothing less. If at all, one doesn't assign a shortcut to it, still there's an icon that is shown as default when nothing is assigned.Here's what you do...1. Download the app called vacuum.sis from the web. Try this link...www.mediafire.com/?a01dw4w4azasjmn2. Install the app anywhere in your phone, phone memory, mass memory or memory card.3. Now go to homescreen and press and hold to go into edit mode.4. Tap the desired location for adding the shortcut bar and select it from the list of widgets available.5. Once the shortcut bar is added, tap it and go into the settings for adding the shortcuts to it.6. Now if you want to add only one app in the shortcut bar, select the desired location from one to four and add the app. In the rest of the locations, add the vacuum app.7.
Now close the shortcut and return to home screen. You should see only one shortcut in the shortcut bar. This way you can place any one app at any location on the grid with app.What's actually vacuum app? Its a dummy app which when installed, results in an app which doesn't do anything on installation and has a transparent icon. So an unknowing tap on the shortcut also will do nothing. Tada! You've a shortcut bar with just one app... Its customizable between one and four apps. This has been tested and works in my Nokia C7 with Anna. So should work in other symbian

Mar 22, 2012I saw that there was an update to Smart Actions yesterday in the Google Play Store. When I tried to apply the update, I received a message that there was an error downloading the update. I could not get this message to clear, so I tried uninstalling the previous updates and then re-applying the updates. Now, I get the message "Your order is pocessing, your item will be available in a few minutes." I have cleared cache and data for the play store and rebooted my Droid Razr several times, but I cannot cleare this message. Jan 27, 2015So I noticed that my moto action (approach) stopped working on my phone.
I know some people hate this feature because it seems to wake up the phone unnecessarily, but in terms of impact to battery it's minuscule to none.
I actually like this feature because using the power button to wake up the phone seems rather inconvenient after having gotten used to the approach feature.
The problem is that it suddenly stopped working for me. I know that people are going to ask if I enabled this in the moto actions menu, it's definitely turned on. I rebooted the phone several times with it on and off. None of those measures have worked.
