Motorola Smartactions :: Smart Actions Not Updating?
Mar 22, 2012
I saw that there was an update to Smart Actions yesterday in the Google Play Store. When I tried to apply the update, I received a message that there was an error downloading the update. I could not get this message to clear, so I tried uninstalling the previous updates and then re-applying the updates. Now, I get the message "Your order is pocessing, your item will be available in a few minutes." I have cleared cache and data for the play store and rebooted my Droid Razr several times, but I cannot cleare this message. Anyone else experiencing issues with applying the latest Smart Actions update?
Since the .893 update has come out and the smart actions app from the RAZR was not in it. Does anyone think we will ever be getting this app in an OTA? This is one app that seems like it is useful. This would at least be a little bright spot in my rather abysmal Bionic "experience".
I just noticed my SAs were wiped out with the update. Not a biggie but also not expected. I do see where they added some SAs and UI changes with the update.
I am trying to setup a rule with smart actions to look at the wireless i connect to as a trigger then change the volumes of the phone when it detects my work wirelessProblem is smart actions only allows me to change the ringtone volume i need to turn down the notification volume as weel but there is no option for this WHY?
Have just bought a new UK RAZR XT910. Have set up smart actions and have them enabled, but no matter what I do, disable, re-enable, delete, re-create, reboot, check DST time settings, nothing works. Can someone please tell me where I am going wrong.
i have the motorola razr uk version but my smart cations app wont activate / deactivate the profile when it should, im having to do it manually. its version 1.0
if you set something to happen on a certain Day between a certain time the phone just ignores the fact that it's the wrong day to perform that action and just looks at the time ?
Been trying to set up some rules based on recomendations from this vid url...where they suggest using the Smart Action trigger for "Motion Detector" to save battery, and which looks pretty useful! However, I have a UK version of the RAZR and the Motion Detector feature does not seem to be enabled! Why is that? Is there a way of enabling it? Whilst I am on this topic I was also wondering if there is a way to restore the Smart Action Samples, as I managed to delete a couple of them accidentally.
Why do we have to constantly keep our Wifi connection on thoughout the day for Locational Smart actions to work properly? Why cant we have Location in Trigger and Wifi(on) in Actions since its also using our GPS location to location us and Wifi for more accurate location?
When creating a Custom Trigger and selecting "Wi-Fi network" I find the following Actions greyed out: Does this mean you cannot select them or are they enabled by default? IF they are enabled by default, why can't you save the Custom Trigger without selecting an additional Action.
Anyone know of a web site that lists Smart Actions that folks have created? Seems to me that this would be a great thing to share. I can see where the Smart Actions app could be very useful.
I have read as many threads as I can find, but I still have this problem. I delete all the Smart Actions and that works for a while, then it comes back again. According to Status, my system is up to date
I was just reading a press release about features the new Moto Droid Razr will have and they listed "Smart Actions", which is a very very neat feature. What "Smart Actions" does is enable the phone's user to set up certain conditions and situations that would set off specific actions by the phone. Sure, you can probably find a similar app in the Android Market, but isn't it nicer to find this app on your phone right out of the box?internal clock on the handset and the GPS, you can set your screen to lower the brightness by 20% at a certain time of day, or turn off the sound at a certain location. Not only can this function as a saver (increasing battery life by up to 30% according to Motorola) by turning on and off certain features at specific times or places, you can also use "Smart Actions" to make sure that your favorite website is up on the browser, refreshed and up to date when you get up in the morning. You can also set your not to ring while at a meeting. Motorola includes some preloaded and suggested rules to help get you started.
Getting a battery life increase with the smart actions app completely disabled. Before it was constantly running in the background even with no actions on so yesterday I disabled it completely and saw a very noticeable battery increase.does it really happened due to removal of smart actions app ?
see Smart Actions include the ability to control MEDIA volume in addition to the existing ringtone volume. The best examples of when this might come in handy:In the car, being able to turn media volume up to loud so you can stream music through your stereo and control it entirely through the car stereo. I find mysef always having to find my phone and turn media up on the phone first, so I don't accidentally blow a speaker when I get in the car without the phone connected. At work being able to turn the media volume to mute. This way I can sneak a round of Scramble or Words with Friends in without my cube neighbors hearing the tell tale sounds of the games.
Is there any talk on including a new action to turn off/on LTE? Turning LTE off automatically when battery is low can really help save on battery power.
I have a SA for when I'm in the house. Trigger: Detect my wifi, then: Disable Cellular Data, Turn on blue-tooth, dim brightness to 45%, lower ringer volume, But when I leave the house, I want it to Turn Off Wifi and enable Cellular Data. Is there a way the SA can detect that I am not connected to my home wifi and disable wifi and enable Cellular Data, or just enable one SA and disable the active one?
i have set up the pre formated sleep mode using the time trigger, however, each night it shuts off before the set time. i have the night trigger set from 11pm to 1159pm everyday, the morning trigger set from 12am to 7am everyday and the weekend trigger set from 701am to 9am saturday and sunday. sometime in the wee hours of the morning it shuts itself off in the middle of the morning time frame. ive checked my phone at 3 am and 5 am to find the smart action has shut off. i have to open and close smart actions to get it to come back on. ive deleted the action, cleared cashe and started over, deleted and started from scratch and used the pre formated sleep mode. i cant think of why it stops working.
On my previous iPods and iPhone, I've always used live updating smart playlists to keep my music fresh. By adding the simple rule to not include anything played in the last "x" number of days, any song played would disappear from the playlist. In other words, once you play it, it no longer fits the requirement for the playlist, so it drops off, creating a continuously updating, self-contained playlist. I just noticed that my iPhone 4 no longer does this. The playlists do not update until they are synced in iTunes.
I set up a Action in my XT910 with opening the WIFI at 0600 in the morning. It's OK to open the WIFI.But in the same Action, I also set up to start the mail, news and weather service after the WIFI option. It doesn't work for these three services to access/download the related data automatically. How can I modify this Action in order to start the WIFI and download the mails, news and weather service by itself?
So I noticed that my moto action (approach) stopped working on my phone.
I know some people hate this feature because it seems to wake up the phone unnecessarily, but in terms of impact to battery it's minuscule to none.
I actually like this feature because using the power button to wake up the phone seems rather inconvenient after having gotten used to the approach feature.
The problem is that it suddenly stopped working for me. I know that people are going to ask if I enabled this in the moto actions menu, it's definitely turned on. I rebooted the phone several times with it on and off. None of those measures have worked.
After upgrading to ICS and being forced to do a FDR, I eventuallly realized my Smart Actions were no longer woking properly. I deleted them and was adding them back one by one. The ones that are not location-based work okay but I cannot actually get a location trigger to save. I press on Location, it shows me my one location I have set up right now, I select that one, press done to go back out to the smart action page, but the location value is not set. I tried clearing the cache, system and app, already but nothing changed.
I just realized I can set a location if I am not editing a sample action. Starting with a blank rule, it works but I still hae so save the action and then save the trigger.
Is there way to send myself an email if I miss a phone call? When I'm at home my razr max is hooked into my housephones with xlink. Both the cell phone and xlink are located in a closet. Every once in a while a call doesn't go through to my house phone or answering machine - just my cell and I end up not know about the call for quite a while. I always have email turned on so I thought having my cell phone email about the missed call would be a good way to be notified. I tried texting to my gmail acct but smart action is looking for a phone number to send the text to.
I very recently purchased the RAZR MAXX after much research and reading regarding the phone, battery life (of course), and the Smart Actions feature. Thinking that I can downsize from two smartphones into one. Unfortunately, this is not going as well as planned.I am a small business owner and needing the ability to silence the ringer on incoming calls; except for those from certain contacts that I need to be audible after-hours...I've gone into Smart Actions and done the following:Create a new rule "from scratch" named "After Hours"The only trigger is "Timeframe" and specified as the following:
Mon, Tue, Wed & Thu from 8pm until 8am.Fri from 1pm until 11:59pm.Weekends: Sat & Sun (all day)Actions are specified as the following:Ringer Volume is specified as "Silent"VIP Caller Mode: and the specified contacts I wish to activate an audible ringer during the specified times listed during the timeframe trigger are in this list. Ringer volume is set to MAX and the vibrate option is selected/active.The rule has been successfully saved and is showing as being active as we are currently in the time specified for this rule to trigger. Now the heart of the issue: After receiving a call from a number that is not on the VIP list, my RAZR MAXX will no longer sound an audible ring on ANY incoming calls until the "After Hours" rule timeframe has passed. This is including calls from individuals that ARE in fact, in the VIP caller list...
My personal mobile is in the VIP caller list as a way for me to test the audible ringer. A test call from my mobile phone does activate an audible ringer and the phone vibrates. Now, if I receive a call from a business customer while the After Hours rule is activated, of course the phone does not ring nor vibrate. The phone only lights up for the duration of the ring time until the caller is sent to voicemail. After receiving the call from the business customer, I placed a test call from my personal smartphone. Incoming calls from this my personal mobile WOULD trigger an audible ringer previous to receiving a call from a number that was NOT on the VIP list. Now, the phone remains silent, no vibrate alert, no audible ringer. The phone only illuminates until the call is routed to voicemail.
I've tried basic troubleshooting: uninstall updates and reinstall updates for the Smart App. Have deleted and recreated the Smart App rules. Restarted the phone. Nothing seems to work...Could someone please give me a clue as to what may be the "smoking gun" for this. A quick search of the web features others that had mentioned the same issue with their handsets but no real resolution to this problem. And, I really would like to be able to use this feature of the new device, otherwise I just purchased a new $300 phone to carry around beside my Droid X. In that case, I may as well just return the MAXX and return to my previous Droid X.
I have a Atrix HD. The app used to mostly work, now I'm having major issues. Everytime I try to change any setting, the app crashes and I just get a message "Unforunately, SmartActions has stopped."
There a fix for this so that I can make changes or this app is no longer supported?
I have set up the SmartActions app with the Caller ID option set up for phone calls only, no text messages. I have the Motorola RAZR MAXX HD paired with a Motorola H720 Bluetooth headset. Is there a setting that directs the announcement of an incoming call to the Bluetooth device only? I don't want to announce to the world that I have a call coming in via my phone speaker.
If my Bluetooth is turned off, I would expect the audio to be directed to the phone speaker. But if my Bletooth is on and active, shouldn't the announcement go to the Bluetooth?
