I just updated my Verizon S6 with the Samsung Smart Switch for Mac
right now my data isn't working, WiFi calls and texting works.
it's weird cause when I toggle off the Data it shows a line across the "4GLTE" but right now its just grayed out not letting me use data at all.
I have smart switch installed on my pc with windows 10 and i try to backup data from my g920f running latest 6.0.1.
Smart Switch is stuck at "To complete the backup using Smart Switch you need to temporarily allow some permissions. Allow the permissions on the connected device"... There's no prompt on my phone.
I tried all kinds of reconnecting, restarting but still this dialogue.
So I have had an iphone 4 for years now, its jailbroken and has been my main phone forever. However I needed an upgrade badly, so I purchased an unlocked galaxy s6. I have so much data on the old iphone I must move, contacts, pictures, music, and I dont use icloud. So I purchased an otg cable, which worked perfectly for transferring data off of my ipad, but not my iphone.
When I connect the iphone to my galaxy, it pulls up smart switch. However it stays on the "connecting to ios device" screen. When I pull the notifications bar down on my galaxy, it says "camera connected". So my question is how can I prevent my galaxy s6 from recognizing the iphone as a camera, so smart switch can connect to it to transfer my data?
I downloaded smart switch on my new phone but it isnt compatible with the old one. what is the best way to transfer my files such as contact list and photos to the new phone.

Usb storage works just fine, and the pc detects that it is Galaxy s6 connecting, but Smart Switch says "failed to connect to device". Now I do have the backup file in my pc, so could it be possible to move it to my phone and restore it from there? If so, how?

As most of you are familiar with Samsung's latest iteration of Samsung Kies, the Smart Switch, it is able to "unroot" most of the rooted devices including the Galaxy S6 (Tried it with my rooted G920F). By using the function somewhere in the "Emergency software recovery and initialization" tab, it will opt the user to upgrade/reinstall the existing software therefore unrooting your device.
My question is - how about using this method to remove the custom recovery (i.e. CWM or TWRP), thus reverting back to stock recovery?
So just in the last few days my phone has started having some issues. I got a Powerbot wireless charger(PB1020) about the same time I got my phone at release. It's worked fine , and still does as far as I know. But know, after my phone is fully charged, when I remove it from the charger it's pretty warm(this is a new development, not really had it get very warn on the wireless charger before) and then it begins to connect and disconnect from the wifi repeatedly. I'm talking like every second it switches. I keep seeing people saying to turn off Smart Network Switch, but I did that the second day I had my phone, and it's still off, so obviously its something else.
View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday i used the the mobile data connection just as normal. I downloaded from the store and everything. Then i was back in wlan. I tried Fring. I wanted to try Fring also on 3G or Edge or HDSPA or whatever comes out from my handy and goes into the air ^^ I don't know anymore.So I turned off my wlan and was down. No internet anymore and even there was no icon in the toolbar.
I turned my phone on and off, unistalled every app i installed since the last time it worked, which was just an hour before that.
The things i installed were: A brightness widget (appears under volume controll if you press the volume buttons. I forgot the name.) and "Quicksettings", which leeded to uninstalling the first mentioned unit.After that didn't help either, i changed the card in my phone with another from the same provider. It didn't work. In the same move i put my card to another smartphone and got a connection.Conclusion: Either my phone is misconfigured (which i hope for) or it's broken (which would suck but i have warrenty left).
I even tried to let my provider send me the right connection data and saved them. Nothing...I know there is the way of getting back to factory settings, but i only want to try that if i'm running out of possibilities. And of course i don't want to lose my app data. my phone is not rooted now and i know i have to, to save my app data and apps (which sucks. 1-0 for the iPhone). I you have only ideas that could be done by rooting my phone i would do so, but i would rather avoid that because of the 'maybe warranty loose'.
Am I right in thinking that the Data Network Mode access your data plan usage? Ie 500mb?When I activate this, it doesn't seem to allow me to connect to the net?Also is there a widget that allows me toggle this off and on?Doesn't it seem weird that Samsung hasn't give us a indicator like the wifi that this data network mode is ON? I could leave it on running without even knowing? Is there a good app which lets me see how much data I am using?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an s6 and the factory installed 4x1 clock/weather app no longer works. The clock still keeps time, but the weather icon on the right hand side does not show the current weather, will not update, nor will it allow me to touch the widget and enter into the settings/different cities. It was working fine up until about a week ago. I've tried restarting my phone and removing/re-positioning the widget, but no luck. It can't be uninstalled as it came with OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Huawei Android smart watch and I enabled Smart Lock so that as long as the phone and watch were connected by Bluetooth the phone would remain unlocked. If they are not connected, my fingerprint would unlock the phone. But enabling Smart Lock seems to have no effect - the phone remains locked when connected to the watch. I have rebooted the phone multiple times after turning off security and Smart Lock then turning them both back on after rebooting.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have experienced this feature on my gfs S4 so I know how it is supposed to work, but I have smart alerts turned on in the settings of my S5 but they do not seem to be working. I have not tested it with a missed called yet, but it says it works with messages and other notifications but it does not vibrate when I pick it up. Are there any other settings that might be affecting this? I do have the vibration turn on and up pretty high, and I even enabled vibrate during ringing just to be safe.

I have a trusted Device (bose Headset) added as well. But still my device gets locked automatically after 5 mins even if i am in the trusted place or connected to trusted device.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4S with iOS 5.1.1 I ALWAYS have data roaming turned off as I travel a reasonable amount and don't want the charges. All automatic downloads are also turned off. On a recent holiday to France the phone the phone decided randomly to download my emails at 3pm one Friday afternoon (after we'd been there for almost a week) - this totalled around 3MB and cost me around £10.00 This was the only time the phone did any downloads (it was in my pocket not being used at the time) - so it appears as if randomly for around 10 minutes one wet Friday afternoon the phone decided to ignore the data roaming switch and download my emails (and apparently nothing else). I have read some real horror stories online about this kind of thing but nothing where it just pops on and off.As I travel a reasonable amount I can't afford for this to keep happening.

The weirdest thing just happened on my S6: the "mobile data" switch in the swipe-down picker has disappeared!
I've rebooted the device, and even deleted the TouchWiz cache and data, but it didn't work.
When I'm roaming abroad is it possible to switch off the Network so that I can use the WiFi connection to access the Internet?
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy S2 has behaving a bit strangely now for a while, but after updating it to ICS it seems to have gotten worse!
The settings I use daily are (amongst other ones):-
- WIFI off
- bluetooth on
- ringer vibrate
- brightness 25%
Before ICS, when I switched the phone off and then on again, it would change the settings to the following:-
- WIFI on
- bluetooth off
- brightness 50%
After ICS update it now also resets the ringer to loud, not vibrate.
It seems to make the changes shortly after it boots. For example, I switch it on, put my pin in and the bluetooth is on, wifi off, ringer vibrate (as it was when it went off). However, shortly after my home screens have loaded with their icons, the BT, WIFI, brightness and ringer all change, almost as if it's loading some default settings.
Seems to be no simple way of switching the music off.

I have tried restoring my phone, resetting the network settings, and AT&T tried unregistering and re-registering my phone but still no data.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5/ Android 5.0/knox v 2.3
While adjusting my settings in Knox I switched to folder view, which has completely changed the knox environment. The main thing I now find is I can no longer toggle in and out of the knox container using the notifications area that you swipe down from the top of the screen, unless there is a specific notification, ie a new email.
The option within the Knox settings that I used to switch to folder view is no longer visible - the settings seem to have changed ( and more to the point, I can't remember the exact option) so I can't switch back.
Is there any easy fix to either add a toggle into the notifications area to enter/leave the knox container, or preferably to switch back from the folder view organisational structure to the standard environment that I assume is there by default?
New phone still not used to it....
