View 1 RepliesI was charging my phone while using it and it suddenly shut off. Whenever I try to turn it on the welcome screen "samsung powered by android" comes up for 1 second and then goes black and nothing else happens. I've had the phone for about 8 months and never rooted or installed any software other than official updates. I was just playing a game while it was charging when it stopped working.
every combination of buttons i press even the factory reset gives the same result, the welcome screen for 1 second and then nothing. I was able to get to the OS change warning screen though but when i cancel it goes back to the welcome screen problem. Charging it shows the charging symbol going on and off every second.
I downloaded smart switch on my new phone but it isnt compatible with the old one. what is the best way to transfer my files such as contact list and photos to the new phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI initially tried to flash the Lite'ning ROM but then I got the issue where there is a boot loop with the (S) screen. Afterwards I tried following the instructions on this thread: [URL]
After this, my phone doesn't even go past the Samsung Galaxy S II screen (black and white) and just freezes there. The only way I can turn it off is to remove the battery pack. Fortunately I can still access recovery and download mode. I've tried redoing the instructions on the thread i mentioned several times and still no go. I have no idea what to do right now.
i'd only used the sgs2 for a couple of days before going on holiday for a couple of weekshile away i turned off data roaming (there was wifi where i was staying)ll advertised sw updates had been appliedhe sgs2 was repeatedly shutting down - not rebooting, powering off - sometimes 4-5 times in a single daya couple of times it did this just as i pressed the home key - the screen would light up, but in less than a second it went black - the phone had turned offit happened when on battery, it happened when plugged into the charger, in a case, out of a case, in my pocket, sitting on a tableried lots of things, deleting apps, reset, etc., no difference'd turn it on when i noticed, by chance i found that sometimes it powered up with data roaming enabled, all by itself, annoying, i disabled it again, then always checked after each shut down, maybe one in 4-5 times it restarted with roaming enabledow that i'm back in the uk, no more problems, hasn't shut down once in three dayssim is vodafone, the network the phone roamed to was vodafone spainaside from roaming, and turning off data roaming, nothing else changed

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I have had an iphone 4 for years now, its jailbroken and has been my main phone forever. However I needed an upgrade badly, so I purchased an unlocked galaxy s6. I have so much data on the old iphone I must move, contacts, pictures, music, and I dont use icloud. So I purchased an otg cable, which worked perfectly for transferring data off of my ipad, but not my iphone.
When I connect the iphone to my galaxy, it pulls up smart switch. However it stays on the "connecting to ios device" screen. When I pull the notifications bar down on my galaxy, it says "camera connected". So my question is how can I prevent my galaxy s6 from recognizing the iphone as a camera, so smart switch can connect to it to transfer my data?
My S2 has behaving a bit strangely now for a while, but after updating it to ICS it seems to have gotten worse!
The settings I use daily are (amongst other ones):-
- WIFI off
- bluetooth on
- ringer vibrate
- brightness 25%
Before ICS, when I switched the phone off and then on again, it would change the settings to the following:-
- WIFI on
- bluetooth off
- brightness 50%
After ICS update it now also resets the ringer to loud, not vibrate.
It seems to make the changes shortly after it boots. For example, I switch it on, put my pin in and the bluetooth is on, wifi off, ringer vibrate (as it was when it went off). However, shortly after my home screens have loaded with their icons, the BT, WIFI, brightness and ringer all change, almost as if it's loading some default settings.
Seems to be no simple way of switching the music off.
View 3 Replies View Relatedsince my husband updated my Galaxy S2's firmwire, I've noticed that my battery is lasting a lot less than it did before it was updated.I've noticed that the 3G is on all the time, and when at home, when I don't need it, it doesn't automatically switch to the wifi like it used to.So basically, the wifi and 3G are on at the same time, instead of switching from one to the other.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S5/ Android 5.0/knox v 2.3
While adjusting my settings in Knox I switched to folder view, which has completely changed the knox environment. The main thing I now find is I can no longer toggle in and out of the knox container using the notifications area that you swipe down from the top of the screen, unless there is a specific notification, ie a new email.
The option within the Knox settings that I used to switch to folder view is no longer visible - the settings seem to have changed ( and more to the point, I can't remember the exact option) so I can't switch back.
Is there any easy fix to either add a toggle into the notifications area to enter/leave the knox container, or preferably to switch back from the folder view organisational structure to the standard environment that I assume is there by default?
Any Way if you can switch from english to an arabic keyboard. I'm getting the phone tomorrow so would like to know.

I have smart switch installed on my pc with windows 10 and i try to backup data from my g920f running latest 6.0.1.
Smart Switch is stuck at "To complete the backup using Smart Switch you need to temporarily allow some permissions. Allow the permissions on the connected device"... There's no prompt on my phone.
I tried all kinds of reconnecting, restarting but still this dialogue.
I'm a die-hard prepaid guy and would like to use this phone with P-Plus AND T-Mobile To Go.Both networks have questionable coverage in my area and would like a WiFi phone that could use both networks.Has any tried this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy s6 model SM-G.920F that hangs on the main screen and cannot shut down. I cannot go into recovery mode either to factory set it. So, I flashed with stock firmware from sammobile and phone works. I then hard reset it from recovery mode and phone boots and everything fine. Then after a couple of minutes hangs again and same problem.

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S6, but I'm not satisfied with this purchase.
In fact, the smartphone, from the beginning, showed different annoying problems, like:
- It shuts down randomly, when I press the home button to turn on the screen. Before it shuts down, the screen shows some weird horizontal grey lines for a couple of seconds;
- When I surf on the internet with Google Chrome, often the screen shows strange colorful flickerings, making it impossible to do research on Google
- The screen randomly becomes pink, and I have to change the brightness level in order to fix it.
My phone shut off earlier, while I was using it. The battery was just about fully charged, and it was plugged in. I've tried holding down the power button, power and volume down, power, volume down, and home. I tried taking the battery out as well. Its been a few hours, and it still wont turn on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHad this phone for one month. When I tried to shut it down today, it stayed on the 'nokia' screen for a few hours. I tried to forcefullly shut it off by pulling out the battery. The fone shut off. But, when I place the battery back and turn it on, it stays at the same 'nokia' screen. Tried this a few times and no help yet.Any ideas anyone? Any way to reset the phone without losing my photos, videos, voice recordings and music?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery single member of our family was awakened at 2 am last night when their phones were beeping about a system update. ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. There is no slider to select/deselect that. It seems like this would be a pretty basic option.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my s5 froze while I was using it. I was simultaneously using whatsapp and viber. The screen went unresponsive, (but no black screen). I waited for 2-3 minutes but it stayed frozen at that point. I use nova launcher.
Long pressed power key, no response. Finally had to do a battery pull to reboot.
Is there any hard key combination I can use to recover the phone ?
Answerphone is set up but the phone is just ringing out, not switching to answerphone.
