I use a Samsung S6 Edge. I have a fingerprint Lock enabled with the Device Auto Lock set to 5 minutes. I also have Trusted Places (Home & Office) added. I have a trusted Device (bose Headset) added as well. But still my device gets locked automatically after 5 mins even if i am in the trusted place or connected to trusted device.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new Huawei Android smart watch and I enabled Smart Lock so that as long as the phone and watch were connected by Bluetooth the phone would remain unlocked. If they are not connected, my fingerprint would unlock the phone. But enabling Smart Lock seems to have no effect - the phone remains locked when connected to the watch. I have rebooted the phone multiple times after turning off security and Smart Lock then turning them both back on after rebooting.

Smart Lock for Trusted devices (that is, bluetooth) works fine. however, Trusted places does NOT work EVER.
i can add Trusted places such as Home, my office, etc.... but it does nothing. no matter what, it won't allow me two swipe up to access the phone- it requires my PIN 100% of the time.
Location Mode is High accuracy (GPS and networks).
I've rebooted many times. I've added, removed, and added places... no place ever works for this feature.
I downloaded smart switch on my new phone but it isnt compatible with the old one. what is the best way to transfer my files such as contact list and photos to the new phone.

I installed a Screen Off app to save wear and tear on my power button. However, I discovered this app prevents Smart Lock from working. I set Pattern Lock with a Bluetooth device Smart Lock. When I use the Screen Off app the Lock Screen appears when I hit the power button. When I use the power button to turn off then Smart Lock works and it recognizes my Bluetooth device and skips the Pattern Lock screen.
Any way I can get a Screen Off app that allows Smart Lock to work as it should?
Having issues with trusted places now working for smart lock? I have it set as my home as a trusted place, yet it still requires me to unlock it when I'm at home. I've deleted and re added home as a trusted place. Same thing.

-trusted devices
-trusted places
-trusted voice
-bodydetection (maybe a poor translation from my dutchspeaking phone)
Is it possible to use the trusted faces on this device? or does it need an application?

This transition from iPhone to S5 has proven to be a total nightmare.
I have noticed the smart lock fails 100 % of the time when using a trust location.
The phone will continually ask you for a fingerprint or pattern to unlock in trusted locations.
This is a important selling point for the device that does not work.
Tried uninstalling google service updates with no luck.
Upgraded to L, factory reset, updated all apps.
I set up smart lock with trusted places. When it works it works. But every time I restart my phone I now get 'google play services has stopped'. I tried uninstalling google play services updates and reinstalling with no luck. Smart lock also deleted my trusted places last night and google play services crashed again this morning when I tried to read them.
Maybe this why samsung hide the setting on this phone (smart lock works perfectly on the moto x 2014 btw, so its not L )
Every time i change chrome to default browser it does not stick. If i click on a link in email, google+, or twitter i still get prompted to use chrome or internet.
I've searched and searched everyone says same thing but nothing works.
I've checked "always open with" chrome and does not work.
I've went under all apps and tried to clear default for internet but it is grayed out and i can not click it.
Under default applications it does not show browsers so i can't modify there.
Under application manager I've also reset application preferences and this did not let me change the default browser either.
I've downloaded an app called "default app manager" and it allows me to change the browser default but it does not "stick". as soon as i click a link i'm still prompted with an option for browser.
New s6 edge+ and having trouble setting it up the way I want. When I get an e-mail (Yahoo! or Gmail) I want to see it up top on the notification line. I don't want to hear any sounds. When I get a text or other alert I DO want to both see a notification AND hear my chirp. No matter how I set it up in settings it seems as though I always get the visual notification (that's good) , but I either get sounds for everything or no sounds for everything. I can't split the sounds for just texts and alerts and no sound for email.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have experienced this feature on my gfs S4 so I know how it is supposed to work, but I have smart alerts turned on in the settings of my S5 but they do not seem to be working. I have not tested it with a missed called yet, but it says it works with messages and other notifications but it does not vibrate when I pick it up. Are there any other settings that might be affecting this? I do have the vibration turn on and up pretty high, and I even enabled vibrate during ringing just to be safe.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just made the switch from an iPhone to a Galaxy S6 yesterday and I couldn't be more excited, other than one problem. I have set up all four fingerprint options on the phone, and have set the screen lock type as fingerprints. When I lock the phone, however, the security option is just a swipe. I have already tried a soft reset and would prefer not to do a hard reset because I just finished uploading contacts and photos. I have even tried the other security options such as a pattern or a passcode and when I set those as my screen lock options its still just a swipe.

right now my data isn't working, WiFi calls and texting works.
it's weird cause when I toggle off the Data it shows a line across the "4GLTE" but right now its just grayed out not letting me use data at all.
So after installing xstrestolite custom rom, Smart Switch on my pc doesnt connect to the phone. Usb storage works just fine, and the pc detects that it is Galaxy s6 connecting, but Smart Switch says "failed to connect to device". Now I do have the backup file in my pc, so could it be possible to move it to my phone and restore it from there? If so, how?

And under lock screen type it says fingerprint. Yet every time I lock the screen and hit the home button it says swipe to unlock. Even tho I go back to settings and under lock screen it says fingerprints. What step am I missing? Also I restarted the phone and the first time I pressed the home button it asked for my fingerprint but then after that it went to swipe screen. What should I do to fix this so it's fingerprint every time.

So is there a way to lock the homescreen and the apps that are displayed there? The wife is having a problem where she can just be holding her phone in her palm and when she looks at her phone the next time, most of her apps are missing. Is there anyway you can lock the apps in place? I know with the iphone there are a few things needed to make apps disappear (hold icon, hit "X", tap on DELETE. All pretty specific spots within the screen that need to be tapped.

Is there a way to do that on the galaxy s6? I hate to have to swipe the lock screen every time, if I need to access the phone again within the period that the screen does not automatically lock.

Smart Switch is stuck at "To complete the backup using Smart Switch you need to temporarily allow some permissions. Allow the permissions on the connected device"... There's no prompt on my phone.

Or suggest a lock screen that can. I don't like having notifications on for spotify because I don't need to be told everytime a song gets added to a payload but so far this is the only way to get controls on lockscreen and it's tiny. Was android always like this?
