I recently upgraded then downgraded os's and now my email icons are all plain. Usually aol or yahoo icons would show. Also, my 2 gmail account icons I cant seem to get into. I click on them and it just freezes. What am I doing wrong. Even my blackberry messenger contact pictures look blank.
I just bought a new bold 9700 to use, instead of my bold 9000. With blackberry desktop manager is used the device switch wizard to transfer everything to my 9700. However when it was done, my email icons were gone. I can only read my emails with the "messages" icon, but not my different email adresses appart. Does anyone know how i can fix this?
Techno help needed again! Can some body please explain; why the small icons (pictures) for my email accounts keep disappearing and re-appearing whenever they choose? More importantly how do I stop them disappearing again?
Anyone knows if we can still do this with OS5? specifically with .545 with filescout? We used to be able to have gmail icon for our gmail box, yahoo icon for our yahoo boxes, etc. Anyone knows how we can do this in OS184.108.40.2065? Or we hv do fix this via custom themes?
I have the new 9700, its two months old and its a really great phone-brand new btw. but there is no e-mail icons for the aol folder and the yahoo folder? is it missing? i sent the service books-but that didnt work.
I have a strange issue on my BlackBerry 9700 Bold, which I got on Orange UK. For some reason my E-mail and SMS Notifications are stacking under the same icon. So for example if I have 3 e-mails and 1 text it shows 4 as the e-mail Notification icon. I have friends on Vodafone who get two separate icons. So far I've tried the following: I've tried updating the firmware to the latest sticky at the top of this forum. Making sure Display New message indicator under General Options is set to yes Battery pull. I still get a red star over the SMS icon in the menu, but just no notification. In my themes menu I have Precision Zen and Precision Orange. Both have the same issue.
I just downloaded the hero theme and it shows a mailbox for the email accounts.I pushed hide on one of the email accounts, and now it is showing a different icon than the "original" mailbox. How do I get it back to showing both mailboxes for my email accounts for the icons.
just switched over from an IPhone 3G to a Bold 9700 and I'm loving it so far. Besides the SMS bug, the only thing that has bothered me is that my Gmail isn't receiving emails. I made sure I set up my account correctly and I even received a confirmation email, but two days after that and I have not received a single email. I have signed into Gmail from my computer and had multiple emails that my Bold never received. Any ideas what the problem might be?
am seriously annoyed with the state of my inbox and the threading by subject is the culprit.Have visited every forum and have tried everything that's been posted to no avail.Would very much appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to remove the gmail enhanced email plugin from my 9700.
So I added a new gmail email address to my phone but by accident, when prompted told it to synch my contacts with that account. The first thing it did was import all the contacts to my gmail address book, on gmail.com, effectively erasing most of them from the phone. I took it into the t-mobile store and the guy somehow managed to recover about 1/3 of the contacts. So when I took it home, I deleted that email address and just plugged it into my computer and re-synched the contacts from my address book. However, whenever I look in my address book on the blackberry now, at the top of a contact it says "Sychronize using: email@example.com" (Obviously insert the email address I used). But that email address is no longer on my phone, so how is it synched with that? It also I think it is creating problems with synching up my facebook contacts as their pictures no longer show as icons on my phone. It's a minor problem, and seems to be a software issue, but is there any way to completely un-sych my contacts from this deleted email address?
I don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time. What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.
I use gmail and when I delete an email on the web, it doesn't delete on my BB. The same goes for when I open an email on the web, it doesn't show 'read' on my BB. Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.
I'm a n00b so I apologize in advance, but I just bought my Blackberry Bold and really dig this phone. However, I want to add more icons to the home screen other than the 5 that are currently on there. How do I do this? I am currently using the "Widescreen HD 9700 O550" theme (which looks really nice).I just switched over from the G1/Android OS so I am still learning my way around the Blackberry.
I've tried and tried to solve this - if anyone can help then that would be fab.On my BB Bold 9700 I've got too many message icons.I've got one for my work email - useful...One for my SMS and MMS - useful. One for my personal email - useful. And one stupid one that wants to group all the messages into one place and mix then up and notify me (even though the other ones already notify me) etc etc.
I have a Bold 9700 on the Bell Network and have lost all the BB functions. Phone was working fine and then I lost all ability to access email and BBM. The email icons are there but the BBM icon vanished along with all my other app icons (NHL, Weather, ZoomPass etc.). I've also noticed that the blackberry logo that is usually beside the 3G icon in the top right is also gone. What is weird is that the phone can still make calls, text and browse. Bell data support says everything is fine on there end. I've wiped the unit via JL_Cmder and reinstalled the latest OS 220.127.116.115 and still not working.
Starting when I installed 18.104.22.1685, and continuing on .593, and .593 pwncakes hybrid I have this minor problem I did not used to have. On my browser's go to page, the icons for the search options are cut off or missing. See the images below. This did not happen with my stock .293, .405, or any versions I used prior to .545
Is this "normal" or is something a little off with my 9700? I don't think I've wiped it since my .545 install, just upgraded.
demo games, who hates looking at those icons and hiding them or moving them every time you download a new theme? I know I was, but I am demo game free now. Now, it really is as simple as this to get rid of them,
Go to options>advanced options>service book Then delete the service books for those demo games and the icons disappear, I have done it with both my 8520 and my 9700.
Just picked up a Bold 9700 today. So far, I've been impressed with the phone itself. One thing I'm wondering though is can the application icons on the bottom of the main (wallpaper) screen be changed for other applications? This is the default theme that came with the phone, btw. I've seen screen shots of this theme with different application icons. I set up 2 emails on my phone and now my phone has the Messages icon, 2 email icons, SMS/MMS icon, Contacts icon, and Calendar icon. I'd like to be able to switch these around if possible. For instance, I only want to see the "overall" Messages icon, and replace the 2 email icons.
as you know within any screen on the phone when you press and hold the Blackberry button for less than 2 seconds it will bring up a "quick menu". Some icons are ALWAYS listed under this "quick menu" whether they are closed or not, such as BB messenger, Browser etc. Is there any way I can add or remove icons in this quick menu?
I have a 9700, and I wondered if we can set custom icons on the home screen, like putting Opera or BeeJiveIM instead of other icons like Vodafone Live or Email or Calendar.I hope you got it. I searched on the web, but no good answer for 9700.
How can I change the icons on my home screen? Ive got 3 mail icons which I dont need. Is there a way to place links to apps on the home screen? Also, is there a way to autohide the icons so as to fully display the wallpaper?
I just got my 9700 from Rogers, it came with OS v22.214.171.1243 on it. However, I can't find the icons for BB Maps, Application Center, and AppWorld ! I checked in the "Applications" and it says they are installed.
I've had my BlackBerry Bold 9700 for more than 3 months.Lately, the icon's been getting stuck on my Main Screen. So, I always ended up uninstalling and reinstalling, and the problem would always get fixed. But last time I did that, my BlackBerry Messenger disappeared..I tried everything!..I looked through every single folder, ticked Show All, but nothing,I also went to Explore, showed hidden files, there was nothing I tried rebooting, deleting and reinstalling, also nothing..I also went on Desktop Manager, checked the Application Loader, and it's there, it's ticked.I checked Options > Applications > Add-on, and I can see that the BlackBerry Messenger is installed (Research In Motion Limited, version 126.96.36.199).My Device Software is updated, and when I check for updates, it says no updates available.I tried Security Wipe, but it's still not there..I tried to backup and restore as well, but nothing's changed
i updated my phone last week, and ever since then i do not receive any gmail anymore.i did the batt pull thing. i also deleted the gmail app from my phone and reinstalled it but still no email.can anyone help me.funny thing is i hear a sound for the email but not email in my boxes?
I am trying to setup my gmail account on my BB 9700 Bold, but keep getting the message that the gmail account or password is incorrect and won't give me any other options.I updated the phone to OS6 and it still won't accept the gmail account. Also received the "Enhanced Google Mail plug-in for Blackberry smartphones" - but that also stops at the same place.I have another webmail account [URL] that I've always used previously (and it works), but want to change from that email account (which is very spammed out) to my gmail account. Must I delete that account first before adding my gmail account? I haven't done so in case I lose that account and not be able to reinstate it.
