Nokia :: N900 - In Read Only Mode / Cannot Save Any Data On Internal Memory
Jan 18, 2010
I'm having a strange issue with my N900. It started yesterday when I plugged into my PC in external stockage mode. Windows gave me an alert saying that the phone should be analysed because of a faulty file system. I ignored this message. I have now noticed that I can no longer save any data on the internal memory, on the microSd there is no problem. I have no idea how to solve this problem so any advice would be great.
I'm having a small problem here. The memory of both memory card and internal memory of my N900 is read only. I tried a reboot, reconnecting, ... Nothing helps.I connect it to a Debian and windows XP, none of them work.Any suggestions somehting like fsck? I know fsck is on the device but I don't know how to use it well?
my nokia internal memory i can't save my document in internal memory, why? And in menu i can't find file manager are exist I hope you can answer my question in indonesia language
When I power on my N900 I get a notification message saying device storage format unsupported. Note: I don"t have a memory card, this is the Internal Memory Card. When I check (settings, memory) It says memory card corrupt 1.86GB available. When I check File Manager, It says no files/folders. First two pictures on: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=44203 is basically how it is on mine.
I tried flashing the firmware and emmc and it worked everything was back. But when I restart my phone same notification. When run mount/home/user/MyDocs via X-Terminal. In File Manager I can see N900 folder but in Settings/Memory is still says memory corrupt. When I restart phone everything does not work again. Can someone please assits me.
My girlfriend's N95 8Gb came to something of a nasty end over the weekend. No screen, no keyboard, camera unit's out, but, with a battery the lights still come on. The question is whether we can recover anything from the internal 8Gb flash memory. Any thoughts as to whether anything's salvageable and/or how to go about it? Has anybody been in the same position and succeeded in recovering any data?
When having the camera save photos to the internal memory, or the SD card, then connecting the phone in MTP USB mode to get the files , the timestamps on the photos are incorrect. I'll take a picture at 5:00PM or something and the file is modified at 3AM etc.
I just took a photo saved to the SD card at 8:49AM and the timestamp is 3:49PM.
I'am using nokia 5233. I had this problem for 3 or 4 times my mobile shows disk error can't complete read or write data. Then I can't open memory card and can't format it in 5233 I formated it in nokia 2700 then it works why is this happening? and what can i do for it?
I have been traveling for 8 weeks and have hundreds of photos and videos on my s5 internal memory. Unfortunately I went swimming with my phone. I plan on buying another s5. Is there any way of transferring the internal memory module to a new phone and hoping that it's not also water damaged? I really want the photos from my trip. I am confident repairing phones.
I've just recieved the N900 (UK on Vodafone) but straight away i've come across and error which means it's going back for a replacement handset - although Vodafone currently struggling to have the N900 in stock! The error is "internal error closing app". My concern now is reading lots of blogs i'm currently concerned that the N900 is not yet ready for the market and perhaps should be looking for something else. Is the phone the way forward?
I can't swear that this applies to the Droid X² too. But it definitely does to the Droid X.For those Droid X owners without a Verizon Unlimited Data plan, this may be of interest, since the Verizon's new tiered data pricing structure just went into effect.
I have bought a N900 today and am busy testing it. With the phone, no real user guide was given. I downloaded one from the Nokia site. But I do not seem to find how to make the screen rotate.
My N900 only seems to be able to connect to PC Suite in 'non-compatibility' mode. This mode doesnt allow me to use any of the PC suite applications. How do I change the mode to 'compatibility' mode, or the 'normal' mode so everything works! No options appear on the phone when the USB cable is connected for PC Suite, like it should do? The phone is automatically charged via the connection though.
I added my hotmail account on my N900 but now it says that I have about 2000 unread emails. How can I easily mark all emails as read or get it to only receive new emails?
I have an E75 for a few months now and I have a problem that totally confuses me: I constantly keep getting the System Message that my Internal Memory C: is full and that I need to either delete files or move them to the flash memory. Sometimes it also refuses to open emails, because of the lack of memory.
The sad part is that almost all of my data already is on the flash card, not on the internal drive. There's literally nothing left to delete from the internal memory. I also tried deleting my personal data from the web browser, but it didn't help much. I checked the data that is stored on the internal memory and it is about 18MB while the phone's file manager sais I have only about 2MB free memory left. 20 MB total memory size seems a little small to me, shouldn't it be 50MB?
I am not using the phone memory for storage. it says it contain 30MB phone memory.i can only use 3.6MB of it. i am not able to access the remaining 26mb or find it. did reset factory condition but it remains the same. help me with this problem.
After every 2 -3 weeks I get the info that i need to make space as my internal memory gets full... what to do in this case??? the messages and contacts are just stored at internal memory i guess is there any way to change the storage of messages from internal memory to memory card???
I recently pirchased nokia X6 16 gb... its totally fresh i haven't put any songs, or files in it.. but when i see the memory status: for phone memory it shows 276 mb free(out of 512 mb) and used is 44 mb where as in internal memory 334 mb is used and 14.6 gb is free.. where are the remaining space
i have nokia 5130 xpress music phone. but now a days it is creating problem to me. my phone internal memory is full with data but i had not stored any thing in my phone memory, but it shows full phone memory indication. today i updated my phone software to v 07.95 also but my problem is still persist.
My E72 doesn't read the 8GB memory card it just accept the 4GB memory card that came with the phone I got a new 8GB memory card if any one can help me with that dont be shy go for it.
Why can't the BB OS use some of the removable memory card space to free up the internal memory. To me this is a no brainer, most of us have 16 or 32gig cards, I would be more than happy to set aside some space so the phone could run better. Most of the new flash cards these days are reasonably fast and could easily be used as a swap file place holder or reside some of the dormitory features.
After installing many apps my phone now says that its low on memory. but i do have 1.75 GB available space on my memory card. How can I install the Apps on memory card instead of phone memory?
as above. blackberry storm sorry if this is duplicated but i cant find anything when i search. I had this problem previously not sure what i did to fix it.
Just bought N900 lately. I saw that there's already a new software PR 1.2. I'm trying to install it using my device & I already backed-up my phone. However when I continued to install the software, it flashed a warning that the "target memory is low" what will I do next?
I have broken my N900. The 32GB EMMC has been disconnected electrically from the phone's PCB and the remaining RAM is far too small to work properly. Can I use the micro-SD card as virtual memory for the phone? Can a Maemo / Linux expert out there suggest something otherwise it goes in to the skip!
I keep running out of memory on my n900, even though there is a few GB free in the other areas of the "drive". How can I decide where applications are saved to when I install them, to prevent this from happening? I am regularly having to uninstall applications, just to be able to receive SMS messages. If tnis post is a cure to your issue, please MARK IT AS SOLUTION.If this post has helped anyone in any way, PLEASE SHARE YOUR KUDOS, by clicking on the GREEN STAR.
I'm having problems connecting my N900 to my PC via USB (Mass Storage mode). I've contacted Nokia support twice but haven't heard anything back. When I connect it up, a Windows pop-up from the system tray appears saying "This device will perform faster if plugged into a USB 2.0 slot". File transfers to and from the device are extremely slow.
I've checked out my motherboard, and it only has USB 2.0 slots. I tried them all anyway, and besides, my iPod and other USB devices such as data sticks connect to USB 2.0 no problem at all, using these very same ports.I've tried on a friend's computer, and without having to install anything, the phone instantly popped up, USB 2.0 mode, no problem. What's wrong with my computer? What a I missing? Any suggestions?
My N900 can't recognize or see memory card. is this part of the big failure or peculiar to mine. Worst still, I cant use check my credit balance using the code *556#, load credit. It doesnt with pc suite, nor with the ovi suite, map updater, map loader! is this a fraud or what?
