I'm having a small problem here. The memory of both memory card and internal memory of my N900 is read only. I tried a reboot, reconnecting, ... Nothing helps.I connect it to a Debian and windows XP, none of them work.Any suggestions somehting like fsck? I know fsck is on the device but I don't know how to use it well?
View 7 RepliesI'm having a strange issue with my N900. It started yesterday when I plugged into my PC in external stockage mode. Windows gave me an alert saying that the phone should be analysed because of a faulty file system. I ignored this message. I have now noticed that I can no longer save any data on the internal memory, on the microSd there is no problem. I have no idea how to solve this problem so any advice would be great.

To me this is a no brainer, most of us have 16 or 32gig cards, I would be more than happy to set aside some space so the phone could run better. Most of the new flash cards these days are reasonably fast and could easily be used as a swap file place holder or reside some of the dormitory features.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I power on my N900 I get a notification message saying device storage format unsupported. Note: I don"t have a memory card, this is the Internal Memory Card. When I check (settings, memory) It says memory card corrupt 1.86GB available. When I check File Manager, It says no files/folders. I tried flashing the firmware and emmc and it worked everything was back. But when I restart my phone same notification. When run mount/home/user/MyDocs via X-Terminal. In File Manager I can see N900 folder but in Settings/Memory is still says memory corrupt. When I restart phone everything does not work again. Can someone please assits me.
HOW CAN ICHECK THE MEMORY STATUS FOR BOTH THE PHONE MEMORY AND THE MEMORY CARD AND CAN I CHOOSE THE MEMORY CARD AS MY PRIMARY MEANS OF STORAGE ESPECIALLY FOR MUSIC AND PHOTOS.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI just got my N900 about 2 days back, my sister dropped it and it would not turned on. I flashed it, and now it turns on but it does not recognize my internal memory card. I don't have an external card. I can't use camera, all websites show blank, and I get low error messages on almost everything else due to this.
If I go to settings/memory the the device memory is full and available memory for installable applications is at 80 MB. There is no corrupt memory card message. Also if I go to backup utility I get a "no memory card inserted" message. Any suggestions?
It finds them fine on a 2GB card. I tried reformatting it to FAT16 but still no luck. What's the trick?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIt wasn't a huge problem before, bet phone isn't reading memory card and has started to reset it self. Lagging became much more active as well. I took it to shop which fix phones, So it reinstalled my 10V OS (I had installed it by my self) into 9.40V it is quite better, but phone lags a lot, restarts it self, memory card isn't working well too. Memory card is good, works on other devices, and I used it for lot of time before on this device.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?

When going to file manager, seems it doesnt find memory card, even it is inserted.Then when removing memory card, phone works normally and not slow, fast. Most of these applications have consumed most of the internal memory. some of the applications do not get transferred to the SD card and are only retained in the SD card. now when i want to download new applications or update current applications, it says the memory is full. how do i transfer the applications to the SD card from the internal memory and download fresh applications. The applications are not visible when connected to the computer. Moreover, many of the applications are pre-set when the phone was purchased. Will the phone work if all the applications are transferred from the internal memory to the SD card.

I did not know my media files were saved on my SD card. I thought they were saved on my device.
In the options, under Memory, it says Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card has been formatted.
First I took the memory SD mini card 8G out and put it back in.
Still same message.
So then I went to Format and formatted it...as it asked me to do.
Error message came up. Saying Format Failed.
However all my files are gone.
I am so mad that my blackberry told me to ensure it was formatted. Everything is gone off my BB.
Is there a way to recover this data?
I haven't backed up my BB before.
I've had my Blackberry Torch for a few months and it used to flash "Media Card Inserted/Removed" constantly (alternating between the two) untill I would just take it out and give up. Now it has got to the point where it won't read any memory cards at all. I recently posted about this and was told to format the card in my PC then in my phone, which worked great for a few hours then it flashed "Media Card Removed" and was not recognised at all after that. Now when I repeat the format procedure (in PC then in phone) it recognises it for about 10 seconds then says its removed. The media card slot doesn't appear to be damaged or loose.

I can't figure out how to get the pictures off the memory card to the internal memory so I can put the 2gb memory card back into my tour that it came with. I don't want to use Roxio because it messes up my computer and the Menu > Move doesn't move it to the internal memory!

After app back up I then reinstall form sd card and the internal mem goes down, I am on about 44mb at the moment. Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message. Can anyone please tell me how to move apps from the phone memory to the card memory. And can anyone also tell me if I have an icon on the 'Menu' screen and the 'Apps' screen, does this mean the application has been downloaded twice and do I need both or can I delete one (presumably the 'Menu' one)?
