Nokia :: N900 - Internal Memory Corrupted / Storage Format Unsupported
Aug 30, 2010
When I power on my N900 I get a notification message saying device storage format unsupported. Note: I don"t have a memory card, this is the Internal Memory Card. When I check (settings, memory) It says memory card corrupt 1.86GB available. When I check File Manager, It says no files/folders. First two pictures on: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=44203 is basically how it is on mine.
I tried flashing the firmware and emmc and it worked everything was back. But when I restart my phone same notification. When run mount/home/user/MyDocs via X-Terminal. In File Manager I can see N900 folder but in Settings/Memory is still says memory corrupt. When I restart phone everything does not work again. Can someone please assits me.
My Nokia N81 8GB just started telling me that my Mass memory is corrupted. I have tried all means to get it back to work but failed. It wont format normally, is there Any way I can format my phone to save my memory.
My N70 memory card corrupted.I am unable to format the memory card.I am tried many methods to format the card but it fails.I also tried to format card using fat file system but it doesn't.I am now using only phone memory.
I'm having a small problem here. The memory of both memory card and internal memory of my N900 is read only. I tried a reboot, reconnecting, ... Nothing helps.I connect it to a Debian and windows XP, none of them work.Any suggestions somehting like fsck? I know fsck is on the device but I don't know how to use it well?
I have gotten my nokia n82 a week a go with 2GB memory card inside.I have gotten problem with my gallery.I have checked my gallery and recently some pictures were corrupted or something so i switched off pohone and turn on again and all pictures were gone when i went to my gallery.Do i need to get a new memory card or do i need to update something.Because i can't format my memory card because i got 3 months free gps navigation. And if i will format it now than it will be lost
I replaced my phones SD card. I thought I still had to format the new card, so went to Menu-Settings-Storage. This is where I screwed up. Instead of selecting the SD card for formatting, I clicked on Internal Storage. A check of the old SD card made me realize many of my photos & videos were wiped.
I've tried Recuva and Stellar Phoenix recovery programs to no avail.
I just didn't realize everything was going to internal storage. Is data recovery a lost cause?
I'm having a strange issue with my N900. It started yesterday when I plugged into my PC in external stockage mode. Windows gave me an alert saying that the phone should be analysed because of a faulty file system. I ignored this message. I have now noticed that I can no longer save any data on the internal memory, on the microSd there is no problem. I have no idea how to solve this problem so any advice would be great.
So i've been reading on the Bold forums that you can go Options -> Memory -> Format or something like that to format the internal memory on the Bold without losing your data.Is there this option for the curve? The problem is, I used to be able to see both the memory card and internal memory when I connected via USB. Now I can only see the card. I want to be able to access the internal again.
Verizon Tour 9630. I am not using an SD card and I'm trying to mount the internal memory as a drive in Windows, so that I can access and download pictures taken with the camera. When I plug it in, Windows mounts a removable drive but doesn't let me access it (insert card). Storage class driver is turned on (or off, makes no difference). BB desktop is installed, but doesn't help.
I have a Blackberry Storm 3590 which no longer shows anything on the display;it is black.I desperately need to retrieve my photos from it.I believe they are located on the "internal" storage partition, as they are not located on the Sandisk media card that is installed. When I attempt to view / retrieve the photos from this phone via the Blackberry Desktop Software (ver. 18.104.22.168) I get the following message:"You need to turn on mass storage mode from the connected Blackberry device to use this feature. This may require you to reconnect your device."I have fully charged the battery & removed / installed the battery numerous times, but have had no luck.I was able to see the pictures the first couple of times I connected the phone to my laptop.
I've run into a bit of a problem, as have MANY Photon 4G owners have as well.since mounting my Electrify as a USB mass storage device (the two "MOT" drives pop up in explorer), now the internal storage (which is where everything is) comes up as an unreadable drive. It mounted fine when I got it, then stopped working, then worked for a day, now it doesn't work.I've tried uninstalling drivers, taking out the battery, SD card, etc etc.
I have a 5800 with v21 firmware.I am facing two peculiar problems:
1.When i connect the device in "mass Storage" mode .it disconnects & reconnects by itself as soon as you open the removable storage in my computer & i am not able to view the files.
2.I had installed a few widgets like cricket, times etc. but on removing them; their shortcut remains in the apps of the memory card.on trying to remove them further i encounter the "file corrupted" message.Reinstalling the app also does not solve the problem( in fact a new shortcut for the same app appears.i hv now 4 shortcuts for cricket!)
Any ideas for solving these problems will be greatly welcomed.
I downloaded a movie over the weekend, mp4 format and put it on my media card in my BB. When I try to play the movie, I get "Unsupported format". I was pretty sure that mp4 videos is what the BB plays. Do I have to convert the file down to a smaller size first? (i.e. 320x240)
Basically, I got the N86 a couple of weeks back. At first, it was brilliant, now it has turned totally **bleep**. It turns off randomly, it's slow and very unresponsive, and it has also corrupted my Mass Memory and Memory Card. Any ideas on what to do? Is it anything to do with the software?
I am planing to get my N900 till end of current week.Would you please tell me - how I can get info is the phone used and how many minutes have been used? And has it any codes as Symbian phones hes to get such info.
I've just recieved the N900 (UK on Vodafone) but straight away i've come across and error which means it's going back for a replacement handset - although Vodafone currently struggling to have the N900 in stock! The error is "internal error closing app". My concern now is reading lots of blogs i'm currently concerned that the N900 is not yet ready for the market and perhaps should be looking for something else. Is the phone the way forward?
I just started getting this message this week I don't know what happened but I can't play any .avi or .mp4 files only .wmv and .mp3 are working.Any help? I did battery bulls, spamming the play button but there is still an error playing the videos and stuff I record won't playback either.
I installed media manager to my PC...took forever to open. I finally got Roxio to start and copied songs from my PC to my BB (using Roxio). All of the songs are showing on my BB but when I try to play them it says "The media being played is of an unsupported format" What the FREAK....I thought roxio was supposed to convert the music so that it is compatible with your BB. Please HELP! I'm getting so frustrated...Media manager and Roxio suck!
ok i have been fighting to get videos to play on my curve. i have tried os versions: .77, .138, .160. all with no luck. it doesn't seem to be an os problem. my media card encryption is of (has never been on either) and pics work fine. just can't get videos to play that are on the phone or media card. i can however watch Internet videos. any ideas? have read its a firmware issue and will need to get a new berry. please say it isn't so.
Just bought my wife a BB storm 9500. Whenever whe takes a video, she tries to go back and watch it on her blackberry and it says "the media being played is of an unsupported format" I am unfamiliar with this phone. I did reset it by taking out the battery for about 1 minute.
After ripping a cd onto my Blackberry, when I try to play the songs I get a message that says , The media being played is of an unsupported format....anyone know what I've done wrong or what do I do next?
I recorded a short video, about 15 seconds and when I go to play it, i get this error msg: "The media being played is of an unsopported format." I've never had a problem recording and playing videos before, and it works now if I try. Does anyone know how I can play this video back?
New to blackberry my wife have curve 8330 and wre trying to record a video but everytime we save it nd try to play it, it wont play its always said vdeo cant be played unsupported formats. need help. btw i already update the software but same thing.
I've been using my storm to listen to music for the past two days with no problems. All of the sudden, today its telling me that "the media being played is of unsupported format." I used the media sync to put the music on my memory card. what is the deal? any thoughts?
I was at the David Byrne concert and took a couple videos and ran into multiple problems. One, the Storm locked up on my twice and I had to pull the battery. Two, when I went to review my videos later, I get the message "The media being played is of an unsupported format."I'm running on .75 and boy is this frustrating. Does anyone have this problem with taking videos?
So far, I have not been able to view video's from the web.It tells me that it's an unsupported format. So I know that my storm will play MP4 videos from my media video file.Does anyjuan know what other formats are supported?
Although I was able to open, download and use ringtones recently, now when I attempt to open any ringtones I receive this error message in the Media folder: "The media being played is of an unsupported format." and will not play. I haven't received any calls to test whether my phone will ring or not, but I'm assuming since it won't play back in Media, I'm unable to pull up the ringtone period.I'm a newbie to Blackberrys.
I have just purchased a Blackberry Curve 9320, and all the documentation states that M4A (Apple Lossless) is fully supported. I have synced my Curve with iTunes via the Blackberry synchronization software and successfully added my iTunes playlist to my Blackberry.
But when I try to play a tune I get the following error message: The media "Song name" being played is of an unsupported format. How do I play my songs on this device? Do I need a codec or a different media player or is the documentation wrong?
the error message "The media being played is of an unsupported format". When this occurs to me, my rintones also do not work. I am forced to pull my battery for a reset. I believe this has been the 5th or 6th time since I got this phone. Verizon told me that they weren't aware of this error message. Hopefully I'm not the only one experiencing this and when the official new release update comes out, it will fix this. I am debating whether I should just exchange the phone now. Keep in mind, this is already my second Storm. If anyone has had this same issue, please let me know.
I'm having problems getting any wallpaper from my Micro Card to show up on my Samsung T629. I'm using a Micro TF Card to transfer these pictures from my PC to my phone, but when I try to open the images on my phone, they show up with a picture of a question mark. All the pictures I've tried are the standard 176X220 or 240X320, and they are either .jpg or .gif files that I downloaded from this forum. So I don't understand what I could be doing wrong. My .mp3 files all work just fine, so I know there's no problems with my Micro TF Card. I've also tried saving these images to both Images folder and Other Files folder on my card, but with the same result.
In melody studio, when I try to transfer my song to my phone, it gives an error saying:Unsupported format (mp3 codec may be inappropriate or missing)What does that mean? Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix the problem?
While playing around with my phone, I found my video recorder and decided to test it. For about 20 seconds, I recorded me walking around the house. The problem arose when I went to play it. I clicked the play button and got the message: "The media being played is of an unsupported format." In addition a small red box in the upper right hand corner says "Error Playing".
A couple weeks ago i got a refurbished bold off att website. The camera worked fine, saved pics and vids normally. Now, it wont save pics correctly. It DOES save Vids correctly. When i take a pic, and i view it, theres a little red X at the top left of the screen, and when i view the pics on my pc, it says unsupported file format. Even though it says JPG.When the camera was working i believe the os was 167 and then it stopped working on 167. i just updated to 247 and it still doesnt work.
I got a Samsung Forever (SGH-A886) and I would like to be able to put games on it that I have DLed onto my computer.problem is that rogers and there infinite wisdom have fixed it so that you cant do this. I transfer the game to the phone, fine but when I try to run it it tells me that its an "unsuported file format". Now I know this is because the phone has been locked so that you have to DL stuff directly to the phone but I don't have a data plan and would really like to be able to put these games and such onto my phone from my computer.
Is there a way to setup the email to use the memory card rather than internal memory? Ever since i'v started using the messaing client, I can see the internal memory depleting. Obviously this is due to the email client downloading new mails. I have Gmail setup to use IMAP, and set 'Hide email older than 5 days'. Now my point is, even though i delete mails regularly from the phone,I think it still sits on the memory since i dont really regain any space.
Whats the most efficient way to use gmail, and have it use as minimum space as required on the local memory? and also, how to delete emails permanently from the phone?
