Nokia :: 5233: Corrupted Widget On Memory Card And Startup Error

After loading up some MP3s and a widget (a flashlight app) via bluetooth, I turned off my Nokia 5233. Next morning turned it on but it wouldn't go farther than the Nokia logo on white. Removed battery, left a few minutes, same thing. Removed battery, removed 2Gb memory card while phone was off, reinserted battery, turned it on, phone came back to life. Reinserted mem card; it was recognized, all apps (installed on the card) and music/photos were there, everything worked.However, if I turn off the phone and later on again, it's the same, can't boot further than logo screen unless I boot with the mem card out and insert it later. I guess mem card is corrrupted, and yes, checked that there were now 2 icons for that flashlight app. Removed the app via the app manager, there's still one icon left. Trying to remove it via the Organize->Remove command gives a 'File Corrupted' mesage and it can't de deleted; it doesn't run either. Is there a way to remove this 'corrupted' file?So guess there's no option but re-formating mem card, is it? I've backed up all photos but really dread having to re-install all the apps I had on it. Is there a way to check for mem card integrity or fix it without having to clean it off?

I'am using nokia 5233. I had this problem for 3 or 4 times my mobile shows disk error can't complete read or write data. Then I can't open memory card and can't format it in 5233 I formated it in nokia 2700 then it works why is this happening? and what can i do for it?

i own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?

I recently got a Nokia 5800 Music phone on contract, I've already had to get an exchange once because the battery was dodgy on it. I'm now having problems with my 8GB memory card, when I put it into the phone it said "Memory Card Corrupted", So I formatted it, as it had said to (lost all my music from it) And now it only shows up as 30MB, **bleep**? Also, when I take pictures and such, they're all showing up as corrupted (since they save straight to memory card) - I called up the company who I've got the contract phone from, and they really weren't any help.

I have a one month old N700 which has performed perfectly until I installed a memory card today. The phone states that the card is corrupted.To test the card I have tried it both in a pc and a Samsung phone and have both recognised and utilised the card correctly. I also tried an old 512mb micro sd from the Samsung in the Nokia and again the Nokia said that this was also corrupted but this works perfectly in the Samsung I have downloaded all latest updates etc The card is a brand new Lexar 32gb micro sdhc class 10 I am unable to format the card in the N700 as I cannot get past the corrupted card message?

This is saumya, recently i have purched Nokia 5233 from one of Nokia priority shops. I was using Kingston 4gb micro sd card. Everything was going fine but one day when I tried to transfer my data into system via card reader i fealt hopeless since it was not recognised by my system, no issue but when i inserted this card again in my phone it prompts for a password. I never set a password on this phone or the memory card, ive only had this phone for about 1 weeks.So here i am with a bare new phone, and i lost all my information on my SD card and to make it worse NOW i cant even access it anymore! Under options on my phone i tried deleteing the password, changing it or reformating the card, but before any of those could be done it prompts me for that password and im stuck.

Hi guys, I'm having problem with my memory card after I updated to version 50 formware. After installating version 50, everthing works file. But After I configure my email, it seems that my memory card's content was reset to defaul. The folders that are only visible are the default folders when you reformat the memory card. But the free space is still the same as the size before the memory card was corrupted. So I'm confident that the files are still there because the size is the same. Is there a way to recover those files?

I have the following issue with my N97. Hope someone can shed some light on this. The last time I charged my N97 it just charged continuously without stopping when the battery was full. I didnt think too much of it, but during the same day the phone froze on me. Upon rebooting it stuck on the Nokia start-up screen and just stayed like that, the phone even started to get warm. I have since tried several times to switch it on but it stays stuck on the Nokia start-up screen. Oddly enough, when I removed the SD card and switched it on it worked! I have now tried to switch it on several times with the SD card inserted, no luck, without the card, no problem at all! This is obviously not the solution to remove the SD card each time I need to switch my phone on. Could this be a software problem? Has anybody had the same issue?

I backed up my phone, AND memory card.I updated firmware from 025.007 to 025.008. Since I had been having some odd behavior, I decided after the upgrade to reset the phone using *#7370#. The phone did refresh, but afterward, the memory card was unreadable. The error using file manager showed "Memory Card Corrupted" when clicking on the "E" drive. I tried reading in a card reader and it too failed.So, I am doing a long 11GB restore, but wanted to post this in case there is a known issue. If not, perhaps this should be looked at. My understanding of the reset process is it does not impact the memory card.

I bought myself a sandisk ultra class 10 32 gb card after updating my 1320 to 8.1. After using it for 3 months, the card got corrupted. I then got myself a samsung 2 gb card. Even that got corrupted. It says memory card need to be formatted. But when i try to format it says that the card cannot be formatted. I have seen few other posts mentioning the same problem.

I have a Sony Xperia Z3 16GB version and Recently I had been to a hiking trip and had used my Xperia Z3 on the trip extensively for photos and vidoes. I have taken as much as 600 photos and few videos of size 2.9 GB. Since the phone memory was getting full, i moved the images,videos using the "Move Files to SD Card" option found under "Settings --> Storage".
The Transfer finished successfully and the phone memory was relieved. Now after this transfer, i can't open any images moved to SD card. They all were moved to "DCIM --> 100ANDRO" folder.
The photos seem to be corrupted. ALL OF THEM
This is such a mess and I tried a few tools for recovering the images. They didn't woork for me. How to recover these photos? These are memories from a Trip which I can do only once in life time.
The jpeg image properties show up the File Size clearly which means that the content is still there but somehow corrupted.

find the software to restore my Nokia 5233 Music Player. It was corrupted by a virus when i downloaded an MP3 song from my desktop computer. I've already removed the said virus from my PC and mobile phone. Since then, everytime i tap the "All Songs" from the menu music library, this message suddenly appears on the screen of my mobile: "File is corrupted. Operation cancelled." Nothing happened when i restored it to factory setting.

I have a prob with my one week old (!) 5800 phone. Its 8GB memory card became invisible (file browser says- E: NO MEMORY CARD INSERTED) while I was browsing internet (on the screen suddenly appeared 'it is advised to choose Remove memory card first in phone menu, and then remove it' or smth like that).Now no formatting capabilities in phone menu. I have tried another Memory Card 1GB, Nokia made, and it is invisible too. My old Nokia E51i file manager can read both cards.The phone is ONE WEEK from an authorised Nokia shop, no damages, no fall.

Issue #1: I deleted all of my music on my 5800 and reloaded all new music (about 2 gigs worth), I restarted the phone and then refreshed my library. It added my new music but it did not delete the old music. How can I delete these old files from my library.
Issue #2: Every time I connect my phone in Mass Storage mode and sometimes in PC Suite mode, the Messenger says that it is Unable to Read the memory card and switches my text message saves to the C:, I then have to go back and change my message save location back to E: manually. Is there a way to stop the phone from doing this.
Issue #3: After upgrading my 5800 to v40 my left headphone plays louder than my right. I have tried different headphones and different songs and they all played the same. I am push the plug all the way in. It was working just fine before the upgrade. Is anyone else having this same issue?
These attention to detail issues get annoying when they pop up, Nokia (or Symbian) really needs to fix these issues. Some of these issue carry over from update to update and thats not good business. I would like to stay away from resetting my phone if at all possible...I have done so many resets, I have lost count and quite frankly my phone is setup the way I wont it and do not want to sit and set it up again.

I am having this X6 for a month now. I always encounter "memory full, application will be closed". Am not sure, about the phone memory still having ~150MB, isn't that enough? Or I should really uninstall all the apps and reinstall those into the mass memory?
another thing is,my facebook app seems to me is corrupted. I couldn't sign in as it will prompt "application error, restart might help". I try to look for the application so i can reinstall but it prompt me saying that application is not available for X6! I find it ridiculous, because X6 is fb ready device, why it is not available in ovi?

I go this error in my 8GB memory card, I tried to switch off but it didn't work, finally I tried to format the card on pc but I even cannot format the card, but I can access the memory in pc, I copied all item but still cannot format card, then I tried another card of 2GB but same thing happen to this card ! I have a problem with my Nokia 5300 because the phone theme was corrupted and I cant changed or restore it due to my other problems: my phone memory is full so i cant change theme which is very much larger memory and i cant also restore the memory because my phone memory fills through the messages which is already empty but still contains Kb&Mb, what will i do? The phone memory is approximately 10 kb and the messages/drafts are empty but still contains almost 2mb.

I cant scan phone memory of nokia 5233 using antivirus.when my phone is in mass storage mode via USB, it only shows Memory Card under my computer, It never shows phone memory.We also know that if we keep phone in ovi suite mode, it dont shows option to scan phone memory.

When I power on my N900 I get a notification message saying device storage format unsupported. Note: I don"t have a memory card, this is the Internal Memory Card. When I check (settings, memory) It says memory card corrupt 1.86GB available. When I check File Manager, It says no files/folders. First two pictures on: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=44203 is basically how it is on mine.
I tried flashing the firmware and emmc and it worked everything was back. But when I restart my phone same notification. When run mount/home/user/MyDocs via X-Terminal. In File Manager I can see N900 folder but in Settings/Memory is still says memory corrupt. When I restart phone everything does not work again. Can someone please assits me.

for something reason, my phone started to be DAMN slow and laggy, when i try to go menu, it takes about 10 seconds to get to menu, and all is laggy in this phone. When going to file manager, seems it doesnt find memory card, even it is inserted.Then when removing memory card, phone works normally and not slow, fast. What is wrong with my 5230, why it doesnt find my memory card and why inserting it makes so slow? I would like to get it work because it has all my music and pictures etc...
