My Nokia 5800 memory card sometimes goes rogue and i cant access my music player and says my files are corrupted. The problem is i can view my images and i can access the music via file manager.

I'm now having problems with my 8GB memory card, when I put it into the phone it said "Memory Card Corrupted", So I formatted it, as it had said to (lost all my music from it) And now it only shows up as 30MB, **bleep**? Also, when I take pictures and such, they're all showing up as corrupted (since they save straight to memory card) - I called up the company who I've got the contract phone from, and they really weren't any help.

Nokia should consider fixing these issues as we respect them a lot and think that they are still the #1 hardware vendor and will keep giving us good options than Samsung - android and will compete with apple phones.
I'm trying to move a few files around on my memory card whilst the phone is plugged into my pc. There is over a gb of free space on the memory card. I get error: "The selected files could not be copied there is not enough free space on the device".
- I'm moving files, not copying so it shouldn't need any free space.
- Even if it did need free space there is more than enough available on the card.
How can I move files around?
i own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?

View 11 Replies View RelatedMy phone said "memory full, delete some data",Ever since, all my tracks bar 3 are not showing on the memory card, neither are about 90% of my sound, image and video files.
Basically, my memory card is only showing a very small number of files and the rest I cannot access. Phone is N73 that caused this. Memory card is Mini SD.Ive used data cable and is still the case on the laptop, also tried memory card reader. Still exactly the same only showing small number of actual files. I can see the folder names however it says empty. But in properties it still recognizes the fact that that 1.9GB is used of 2.0GB. However I can only access about 100MB of those files.
Issue #1: I deleted all of my music on my 5800 and reloaded all new music (about 2 gigs worth), I restarted the phone and then refreshed my library. It added my new music but it did not delete the old music. How can I delete these old files from my library.
Issue #2: Every time I connect my phone in Mass Storage mode and sometimes in PC Suite mode, the Messenger says that it is Unable to Read the memory card and switches my text message saves to the C:, I then have to go back and change my message save location back to E: manually. Is there a way to stop the phone from doing this.
Issue #3: After upgrading my 5800 to v40 my left headphone plays louder than my right. I have tried different headphones and different songs and they all played the same. I am push the plug all the way in. It was working just fine before the upgrade. Is anyone else having this same issue?
These attention to detail issues get annoying when they pop up, Nokia (or Symbian) really needs to fix these issues. Some of these issue carry over from update to update and thats not good business. I would like to stay away from resetting my phone if at all possible...I have done so many resets, I have lost count and quite frankly my phone is setup the way I wont it and do not want to sit and set it up again.

I took off all pics, videos and music and saved them to the computer. However, when I've gone back to the Ovi store and into the "my stuff" tab, I cannot click the download button on many of the apps (mainly the ones that I actually use which makes it even more annoying). My husband has told me to go into "settings", then "application manager", then finally into "installed apps" and delete the files for the apps that I would like to reinstall (to reactivate the download button again). fantastic idea, but the file names don't give me any sort of clue as to what app they're for. I asked if it would be quicker and easier just to delete everything from the "installed apps" folder, at which point my husband nearly had a breakdown and told me not to do that as there were files in that folder that relate to firmware downloads and could cause more problems by deleting them.

Music player is unable to load music files which are stored in memory card. I even updated the phone software but unable to solve this problem, but other files such as videos and images. The phone states that the card is corrupted.To test the card I have tried it both in a pc and a Samsung phone and have both recognised and utilised the card correctly. I also tried an old 512mb micro sd from the Samsung in the Nokia and again the Nokia said that this was also corrupted but this works perfectly in the Samsung I have downloaded all latest updates etc The card is a brand new Lexar 32gb micro sdhc class 10 I am unable to format the card in the N700 as I cannot get past the corrupted card message?

But After I configure my email, it seems that my memory card's content was reset to defaul. The folders that are only visible are the default folders when you reformat the memory card. But the free space is still the same as the size before the memory card was corrupted. So I'm confident that the files are still there because the size is the same. Is there a way to recover those files?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter loading up some MP3s and a widget (a flashlight app) via bluetooth, I turned off my Nokia 5233. Next morning turned it on but it wouldn't go farther than the Nokia logo on white. Removed battery, left a few minutes, same thing. Removed battery, removed 2Gb memory card while phone was off, reinserted battery, turned it on, phone came back to life. Reinserted mem card; it was recognized, all apps (installed on the card) and music/photos were there, everything worked.However, if I turn off the phone and later on again, it's the same, can't boot further than logo screen unless I boot with the mem card out and insert it later. I guess mem card is corrrupted, and yes, checked that there were now 2 icons for that flashlight app. Removed the app via the app manager, there's still one icon left. Trying to remove it via the Organize->Remove command gives a 'File Corrupted' mesage and it can't de deleted; it doesn't run either. Is there a way to remove this 'corrupted' file?So guess there's no option but re-formating mem card, is it? I've backed up all photos but really dread having to re-install all the apps I had on it. Is there a way to check for mem card integrity or fix it without having to clean it off?

Therefore everytime I install an app I have to do a battery pull to restart the phone as the restart option from the App World in the phone makes the files on the media card not to be seen.This bug was not present before I did the upgrade to 7.1 bundle 1737?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded the firmware from v31.0.101 to v50.0.005 and I had the unpleasent surprise to find that the music player is no longer working. It plays only the files stored in the phone memory and is unable to update the library. It shows music files on the memory card that were deleted longtime ago and refresh library does not change anything: always shows refresh complete 0 files added. When I connect the phone to the PC, the Ovi Player doesn't see the phone and even the device manager shows that there is a problem with the portable device (conneced in PC Suite or Media Transfer modes). Done even a hard reset but nothing has changed except that it has lost the applications it had in the phone memory.

Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message. Can anyone please tell me how to move apps from the phone memory to the card memory. And can anyone also tell me if I have an icon on the 'Menu' screen and the 'Apps' screen, does this mean the application has been downloaded twice and do I need both or can I delete one (presumably the 'Menu' one)?

I left it to try and sort the problem for a while and then pressed STOP. When I tried later, the library was empty.I have upgraded the Music player but that also did not help. I removed the memory card where the MUSIC diretory is located and re-installed it. I have also re-booted the phone several times.From my PC I can see the directroy with all my music. All attempts to REFRESH the library on the phone fail with a message saying that 0 songs have been added. I have left it for long periods of time but still have no songs.If I locate a song with the file manager I can play it.Is there some way to delete/reset the library database and force it to re-create it?
