I have just bought a nokia 5230, and i'm shocked to see that gallery doesn't show the memory card contents! Why is it so? please help... the memory card could be read in the file manager though

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have E71, I used to see the foldersand files in my memory card using file manager, but due to some virus, i took backup of memory card formatted it. the backup folder on my desktop was subjected to virus removal, and then again i restored the clean files to my memory card. but now i can not see the folder in my memory card using nokia e71 file manager but can see the files and folders using Mass Storage mode.

1. It's got a 512mb stick in it and I'd like to replace it with something with greater capacity - say 4gb or 8gb - do I can put a lot more stuff on it. I spoke to Maplin about a new stick and the chap there said, if the phone is that sort of age, I might be able to go up only to a 1gb or 2gb and should check. Does anyone know the answer please?
2. The handbook (which I have just downloaded) talks about a file manager function, but I can't see it on my phone - is this a problem?
3. I have gone through all the menus and can't see a function to let me format a new memory stick - can I use one without formatting it?
for something reason, my phone started to be DAMN slow and laggy, when i try to go menu, it takes about 10 seconds to get to menu, and all is laggy in this phone. When going to file manager, seems it doesnt find memory card, even it is inserted.Then when removing memory card, phone works normally and not slow, fast. What is wrong with my 5230, why it doesnt find my memory card and why inserting it makes so slow? I would like to get it work because it has all my music and pictures etc...

I didnt even open any application other than that. even if i switch off and restart i get same error. also i am using the 2 GB memory card i got with phone pack. nokia memory card.
I'm having a small problem here. The memory of both memory card and internal memory of my N900 is read only. I tried a reboot, reconnecting, ... Nothing helps.I connect it to a Debian and windows XP, none of them work.Any suggestions somehting like fsck? I know fsck is on the device but I don't know how to use it well?

I am having issues trying to backup my phone to the mini-SD card. Whenever I try to backup the phone, during the 'Preparing backup' stage I get the message:
File Manager : Memory Full. Close some applications and try again
I have uninstalled any unnecessary apps from the C: drive and cleared out unwanted files . This is how much memory I have available:
RAM : 51mb / 120mb
C: 41mb/86mb
D: 51mb/43mb
E: 5869mb/ 7596mb
I have recently carried out a hard reset on the handset and upgraded the software, so this is not the solution. This was a problem before doing this and remains an issue now. I know that I can backup the phone on my PC but I would like to resolve this so I can backup the phone on the fly.
i recently got a new e52, its all grt except for d fact tat i have got few pictures loaded on ma 4gb memory card tat i inserted into d phone which are not shwn in the gallery, but they r present in the card when viewed thru file manager the songs got updated into d library from d memory card even when i receive picture thru bluetooth, i can see them in d in box and after savin them to the card or phone, they are not seen in d gallery

View 12 Replies View RelatedMy new memory card arrives in a day or two and until it does I have not been downloading much on my phone but I have been using things like Ovi Maps and being online in general.I noticed that looking at the memory usage there are 42MB of Other files.Now I noticed that each time in OVI maps I goto a completely new place it downloads about 7MB of data, and as far as I remember I have had 3 or 4 of these but that still leave about 20MB
When I insert my memory card can I move stuff to the card and 'clean up' the phone?Or would I have to do something like a 'restore of the factory setting' that deletes everythig and then start again.
I have recently purchased a Nokia 5230 and memory card, great no probs, just wanted a photo printing off, the photo shop man couldn't get my memory card out of the mobile and obviously didn't want to force it. (bluetooth from my phone for whatever reason wouldn't work in his shop).
I came home and tried to remove it and had the same problem, the card will come out so far and then it is stuck I tried with tweezers but it still wouldn't budge after a bit of force. Help!! Any solution apart from taking it back to the shop I bought it from? Should the phone be off or on while I am trying to remove the card?
Do I need to install a memory card to use OVI MAPS on Nokia 5230? I installed MAPS, and when starting the application on the phone, it does start and shows the GPS info, but on a blank screen, no maps.Anyone?

First of all, I've bought a 16GB memory card, but I don't know how to remove the 2GB one it currently has inserted. I press down the memory card but it won't (Fully) come out! Can someone explain me how to remove it, please?
Another issue is with some Bluetooth connections.
I tried to transfer some songs from my girlfriend's cell-phone, I've connected the 2 devices by creating an authorized(Automatically transfers data between the 2 cell-phones) paired connection. But I can't transfer data from her cell-phone to mine. They connect but the data isn't transferred! Side note: I've been able to transfer data before with the same devices, it would only transfer whenever it wanted, though. If it failed, I had to change the permissions and just try again. It could fail countless times(Once it failed like... 15 times in a row).
Now, it just won't transfer. They connect and the "Receiving data via Bluetooth" screen appears, but nothing happens until the connection times out. I've done nothing wrong and everything is fine, I guess. Does it only happen to me?
My last (main) problem:Battery.
My battery has a very short duration time. At the first time I turned it on, I've used it until the battery ran out, like I was told so. Then, I've plugged it to the switch and turned it on. I've used it through that time though, only to send and receive text messages. I exchange about 400 text messages per day. I've done everything I could to save battery. I've turned off the delivery reports, I always have it in silent mode, the screen bright is lower than the default value, etc. Still, it only lasts me like 20 hours before it ran's out. The first bar takes "a lot" of time to disappear, but the last 6 ones disappear quite fast.
I've tried to let him charge for 10-12 hours 2 times after that, but I didn't notice any change.If I'm on a long duration call, the battery runs out after... 3.45-4.30 hours. But that's definitely not the problem.I don't know if this affects, but it is always connected to my operator through 3G.
I own a Nokia 5530 and I have a problem with my music. Some show up in the music gallery but they aren't stored on my memory card for some reason. Is there any way that I can get them stored back onto my memory card. If they get deleted, it will be hard for me to get all of them back on.
It wasn't a huge problem before, bet phone isn't reading memory card and has started to reset it self. Lagging became much more active as well. I took it to shop which fix phones, So it reinstalled my 10V OS (I had installed it by my self) into 9.40V it is quite better, but phone lags a lot, restarts it self, memory card isn't working well too. Memory card is good, works on other devices, and I used it for lot of time before on this device.

The problem is whenever I select option Refresh Library, the device is unable to load new music files which I have transferred to memory card using PC suite. Music player is unable to load music files which are stored in memory card. I even updated the phone software but unable to solve this problem, but other files such as videos and images. I am able to see in gallery. Only problem is with the music files.....

I did not know my media files were saved on my SD card. I thought they were saved on my device.
In the options, under Memory, it says Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card has been formatted.
First I took the memory SD mini card 8G out and put it back in.
Still same message.
So then I went to Format and formatted it...as it asked me to do.
Error message came up. Saying Format Failed.
However all my files are gone.
I am so mad that my blackberry told me to ensure it was formatted. Everything is gone off my BB.
Is there a way to recover this data?
I haven't backed up my BB before.
I am new in this forum. Please could any one tell me how do i save files on the memory card.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've used ES File Explorer / Manager for years on my Androids. I've had the S5 for a few weeks, and I notice that I can't delete a folder on my SD card. I tried another File Manager from Cheetah, it can't do it either. I can create and delete folders on the phone storage. I can create folders on the SD card, but can't delete them.
For now, I have to connect a USB cable, and delete from my PC, which works fine.
Without file manager app how I can browse the sdcard?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had my Blackberry Torch for a few months and it used to flash "Media Card Inserted/Removed" constantly (alternating between the two) untill I would just take it out and give up. Now it has got to the point where it won't read any memory cards at all. I recently posted about this and was told to format the card in my PC then in my phone, which worked great for a few hours then it flashed "Media Card Removed" and was not recognised at all after that. Now when I repeat the format procedure (in PC then in phone) it recognises it for about 10 seconds then says its removed. The media card slot doesn't appear to be damaged or loose.

In fact, it doesn't even ask me for my PIN number, it just boots as normal but I have no connection to any network. I've tried using the SIM card in another phone and it works fine, therefore the problem is with the phone itself.I'd recently had my phone network & bootloader unlocked by wotanserver using the test point method - because of this I thought the DRM keys would be fine (e.g. TrackId & Timescape still worked). However, when I was updating from GB .42 to .62 OTA (to flash a GB ROM) my phone brickedSo, I searched high and low for a solution and ended up using s1tool to restore the locked bootloader. Then I used flashtool to flash a stock ICS ftf file. It seemed to work (the phone rebooted) but it was then I noticed that the SIM card wasn't being recognised. Also, in the Flashtool log I noticed that a blue line was there saying 'this file is ignored simlock.ta'I've tried everything I can think of to fix this.

It keeps giving me a message that says "A media card has been inserted that is not formatted. Do you wish to format the media card now?". I don't want to format the card b/c then all my data will be erased. So how can I get this phone to read my data w/out having to format it??
