View 12 RepliesI was facing an issue with the gallery in nokia 5800 xpressmusic phone. When i open the gallery and watching the pictures in the gallery in sequence, I am getting a popup message like "Gallery: Memory Full. Close some applications and try again". Do anyone facing the same issue and found the fix for this. I had 1001 pictures in the gallery. Still 2.3GB space is left in Memory-card and 22mb free in phone memory.

View 5 Replies View RelatedTotally new to this phone, with the option to download applications. Having great fun in doing so but not always given the option of where to save them to with the end result that they are saving to the phone memory which keeps filling up and then giving me an error message. Can anyone please tell me how to move apps from the phone memory to the card memory. And can anyone also tell me if I have an icon on the 'Menu' screen and the 'Apps' screen, does this mean the application has been downloaded twice and do I need both or can I delete one (presumably the 'Menu' one)?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI own a Nokia 5530 and I have a problem with my music. Some show up in the music gallery but they aren't stored on my memory card for some reason. Is there any way that I can get them stored back onto my memory card. If they get deleted, it will be hard for me to get all of them back on.
I have just bought a nokia 5230, and i'm shocked to see that gallery doesn't show the memory card contents! Why is it so? please help... the memory card could be read in the file manager though
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Nokia 5800 Music phone on contract, I've already had to get an exchange once because the battery was dodgy on it. I'm now having problems with my 8GB memory card, when I put it into the phone it said "Memory Card Corrupted", So I formatted it, as it had said to (lost all my music from it) And now it only shows up as 30MB, **bleep**? Also, when I take pictures and such, they're all showing up as corrupted (since they save straight to memory card) - I called up the company who I've got the contract phone from, and they really weren't any help.

As I'm editing music files / installing apps to card, I'd like to do regular backups (5800 XPress Music). Can I just copy all the contents of the card over to "Backup" folder on PC harddrive (using phone in "storage" mode) ? If I then moved these over to a new card, would this be transparent to the phone?Or is there some fancy function of Ovi software that is needed to do this ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter having this phone for more then half a year, I finally decided to post my complaints, now that my phone really stopped working properly. I'll bullet-point it in chronological order so as to make it clear, because there are too many problems I would like to share with you.
1. After I got the phone( firmware version 21.something), I very very liked it. When I compared it to my friend's 5800 phone (the first firmware version 11.something) though, mine didn't work really fluently. For example, when I press the button on the top of the screen, the bar just appears/disappears as opposed to nicely slides out/in as on my friend's phone. Same when closing/opening windows, mine just appears/disappears as opposed to the nice way it did on the other phone. This is of least of my concerns right now though.
2. Moreover, soon I found out how unstable the whole thing was. The phone kept freezing and crushing whenever I was using the internet or listening to music. I took special care not to install or copy any illegal stuff in it. The application folder took forever to load (all applications from Ovi store) and from time to time I got some really nasty crashes where the screen went black with some red line across it. This slowly led me to believe there was a virus in the phone. After downloading the anti-virus program no virus was detected, though................
When I select Messaging -> Settings -> Other -> Memory -> [select memory card E]then it is OK for email messages but when I receive an SMS it issues an error 'Cannot access memory' and then it switches back to phone memory C, stres the message there and then opens is.
This bug is still present in Firmware V4.0025. Is there a workaround for this? The reason is that 'Phone memory C' is still very precious as it is shared with the working memory (Symbian design flaw ?) so I do not use the C memory is possible.
after browsing in Opera Mini(5.2 beta), my 5800 froze and restarted. It no longer recognizes my memory card. On starting usb connection it tells me that i don't have a memory card in and PC-suite might not work as expected. I tried a soft-reset (*#7370#), but it still does not recognize the memory card. All applications saved on my memory card are no longer displayed. In file manager it tells me I have no memory card in. Of course I have ejected and inserted the memory card, but the initial problem started when my I was just browsing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a prob with my one week old (!) 5800 phone. Its 8GB memory card became invisible (file browser says- E: NO MEMORY CARD INSERTED) while I was browsing internet (on the screen suddenly appeared 'it is advised to choose Remove memory card first in phone menu, and then remove it' or smth like that). Now no formatting capabilities in phone menu. I have tried another Memory Card 1GB, Nokia made, and it is invisible too. My old Nokia E51i file manager can read both cards. The phone is ONE WEEK from an authorised Nokia shop, no damages, no fall.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had one frustrating experience with my phone and it continues to annoy me. Since the past 6 months that i'm using my nokia 5800, one problem reoccurs frequently. Data on my memory card gets deleted by itself every now and then. I lose videos, music and images primarily every time.
The only option remaining then is to run a data recovery software on my memory card to restore to the lost data. This has happened 5 times in last 6 months and I have no clue why. I have seen many other complaining of the same problem in this forum but there's no solution. I hope to find on in this thread.
For your knowledge, i'm using 8gb micro sd that came with the phone and i'm already on FW ver 40.X which is the latest.List of Nokia phones I've used: 3310, 3315, 3200, 6600,3250, N73 ME, N95 8GB and 5800 XpressMusic (currently using this).

I have a very large contact list I want to import to my new express music 5800. I read the fine manual, but don't see how to switch the saving of contacts to the memory card so that I have more than the 40 MB currently available on the phone's memory.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs you all Nokia 5800 XpressMusic gives only 81MB for its phone memory. Many of you have used the 'App. update' located in Application folder in Nokia 5800 main menu. On the first use of App. update you will find updates like
Adobe Flashlite 3.1Live TV 1.2Mail for Exchange 2.9Ovi Store 1.5Python for S60 2.0Scribble 0.2After installing all these updates, only 64 - 70 MB is left in my mobile this makes my mobile slow. While installing these updates i didnt got any pop-up to choose while installing these updates to Phone memory or Memory card i.e C dirve or E drive. can install all the above updates in Memory card that means i will get a pop-up like we get while installing 3rd party application.
After a year of purchase, i now decided to reset my nokia 5800. View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter receiving my 5800 I had to restore factory settings and format the memory card to get rid of unwanted pre-installed content. Before that, I had no problems connecting the phone to the computer via USB and transferring media files, but now - Ovi player doesn't recognize it when I connect the phone and select PC suite modemedia transfer mode. Bluetooth works, mass storage mode via USB works. I am using Windows 7.Is there anything that I need to reinstall on the phone to get it to work? has anybody seen this problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIssue #1: I deleted all of my music on my 5800 and reloaded all new music (about 2 gigs worth), I restarted the phone and then refreshed my library. It added my new music but it did not delete the old music. How can I delete these old files from my library.
Issue #2: Every time I connect my phone in Mass Storage mode and sometimes in PC Suite mode, the Messenger says that it is Unable to Read the memory card and switches my text message saves to the C:, I then have to go back and change my message save location back to E: manually. Is there a way to stop the phone from doing this.
Issue #3: After upgrading my 5800 to v40 my left headphone plays louder than my right. I have tried different headphones and different songs and they all played the same. I am push the plug all the way in. It was working just fine before the upgrade. Is anyone else having this same issue?
These attention to detail issues get annoying when they pop up, Nokia (or Symbian) really needs to fix these issues. Some of these issue carry over from update to update and thats not good business. I would like to stay away from resetting my phone if at all possible...I have done so many resets, I have lost count and quite frankly my phone is setup the way I wont it and do not want to sit and set it up again.

- Even if it did need free space there is more than enough available on the card.
How can I move files around?

If I restart my phone with the memory card inserted, my phone just hangs on the Nokia white screen and does nothing, but upon removal of the card it starts up fine...
After the phone starts up, I usually re-insert said memory card and everything works fine untill now, after inserting the card, my phone jams up and won't respond to button presses or screen touches....
I've removed the faulty memory card from the phone and done a chkdisk on it, with Windows doing all the repairs to the corrupted files and reinserted it but it still jams the phone up whenever I insert it....
Did a hard reset on my phone and reinserted my card and now it's stuck at a dialogue box thats says : Installing
Are there any ways that I could get it working again without loosing important data on the memory card?
