Nokia :: N900 - In Read Only Mode / Cannot Save Any Data On Internal Memory
Jan 18, 2010I'm having a strange issue with my N900. It started yesterday when I plugged into my PC in external stockage mode. Windows gave me an alert saying that the phone should be analysed because of a faulty file system. I ignored this message. I have now noticed that I can no longer save any data on the internal memory, on the microSd there is no problem. I have no idea how to solve this problem so any advice would be great.

Jan 23, 2010My n900 died, I mean it, its just dead.I'll start by saying I tried all this and no go ..URL...All I see is the nokia logo and.. well thats it.
can't do anything with it, if I remove the battery and put back the logo goes back on and again, thats it.When pluging it to a usb my pc makes a sound like something was connected but the flasher and NSU do not find anything even with the "u" key pressed down.

Nokia :: N900 Struggling To Save Battery - Not Get More Than 6 Hours Battery Life
May 14, 2010So had my N900 for a little over a week now and overall I'm pretty impressed. Great phone, but still very much a work in progress. One of the main issues I have at the moment, other than no turn-by-turn navigation (sorry, had to mention it), is the battery life - or lack of!
On an average weekday I use the phone to send a few texts (no more than 10), scan the news sites (no more then 20-30mins total) and catch up on my RSS feeds (again, no more than 20-30 mins total). I'm not using the media player at all and I may make one or two short calls.
Bottom line is that I'm struggling to get more than 6 hours battery life out of it. I know smart phones are thirsty, but I don't even get to listen to music on my way to or from work!Here's what I've already done to reduce battery consumption:
Removed active widgets (such as ForcaWeather) from desktops and replaced with web shortcuts.Reduced screen brightness to 2 barsDisabled GPS & Network positioningDisabled IMDisabled BluetoothI've heard some mention reducing the amount of active desktops, but I think that kinda defeats the object of having a N900. May as well buy a lesser phone if you need to strip out all the functionality to get though the day. I'd be satisfied with 8-10 hours medium use. At the moment I'm getting around 6 hours at light use - got to be something I'm missing.

Jul 8, 2010I have all my contacts in Nokia x6. I also did sync with OVI site. I would like to get the contacts either from the x6 or from OVI site into my phone N900. How can I get them? I did use phone switch application from N95 to x6. Don't know how to do for N900.

Aug 15, 2010I would like to copy my contacts from my N900 to my new work phone, they are all syncd in Ovi Suite but I cannot seem to find a way to copy them. Old phones were simple copy to sim! I have tried mail for exchange but unfortunately this has never worked for me on the N900 I always get same error message re contacting the server! I would really like to be able to use the same contacts on my new phone to save me having to input by hand.

May 19, 2010Two of my family members have nearly identical phone numbers. This seems to confuse my N900 to no end - at times, when person A calls, it gets put into the call log as person B, and so on. Very annoying when you miss a call from either one: You can never be sure which one called you. Any ideas how to fix this / will it be fixed in the next update?

Oct 11, 2012In sheer frustration to try and separate my phone contact from my windows live contacts, I deleted several contacts from my Windows Phone and this has also subsequently deleted the contacts off MSN Messenger (yes I now know that they are synced).
I then logged onto the Windows Live homepage and was able to undelete the contacts but they are not re-appearing on MSN Messenger. I can see the contacts re-appear on my Windows Phone and on the Manage My Contacts page of Windows Life.

Jan 29, 2010I have the Blackberry 9700 V5.0.032,I had my email sync with the contacts but then it duplicated all my contacts list when I already had the settings to 'NO' In duplicated names. I found out you can erase the duplicated names by pressing Option -> then press letters RSET --> which deleted ALL my contacts clean instead. I tried to put the names and numbers back into my phone but it wont let me save and so now I don't have any contacts on my phone.
