I have a 2010 Mazda Speed 3 and I hear this is a common problem. Phone calls are fine but media playback has a 3 second delay with Bluetooth in the car. I don't have this problem with other Bluetooth speakers or ear pieces.Is this delay a common problem for vehicles or is it just MY vehicle?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe bluetooth handling on the Atrix is clumsy! It seems to make some silly assumptions. Assumptions like, if there is a Bluetooth (bt) earpiece connected, the bt earpiece must be in the person's ear -- it couldn't possibly be in a pocket, or sitting on the desk. Also it assumes that if there are multiple bt devices around You must only want to be able to use one at a time. I have three bt earpieces, and a moto roadster handsfree. I hope in the car with my earpiece in my pocket and expect to be able to press the button on the roadster to connect it/use it... Atrix assumes I should only be connected to the bt in my pocket. I have never had a more hands-free experience on any other phone ever.
On my Sony Erisson (se) phone, it seemed to very intelligently handle Becky Tripp switching/routing/preference. E.g. a phone call comes in on the se, and all I have to do is press the answer button on any of the nearby devices, and the audio is automatically router to the device I pressed the button on.... Moto? No way! You have to play the "dig around in the menus game" - ridiculous. Again, do the people who write this code, actually use it? Or are they only interested in making it "just good enough to satisfy the board members"? Stop trying to play "keep up with everyone else after the fact", and start putting effort into getting ahead of the game.
Also, on the SE, when a call comes in, there's a menu that puts every possible audio routing option on screen -- it puts the selection instantly and intelligently within reach... it asks, "Sound: Phone, Speaker, Jabra 8040, Moto Roadster, Jabra SP200, BlueAnt S4 ?" I've missed calls numerous times, because the methodology, the paradigm behind achieving user preference is so cumbersome. I cannot silence the ringer by pressing a volume key? The lack of hardware buttons needs to be addressed...
Very happy with my Atrix 4G (running 2.3.4) and I've invested in 3 docks: desk, car, and laptop.
I've recently started having problems when using the phone (on battery) playing audio through a bluetooth speaker. This happens with music on the phone with the default Android music player, with Audible's player (for books), and the Pandora music app. Since that's a mix of local and remote (WiFi) content it can't be a WiFi problem.
The problem does not occur when the phone is powered (via the car or laptop dock).
I've searched high and low for an auto app shutdown setting, but can't find it. BTW, Battery Mode is Performance.
My car stereo is bluetooth capable for both telephone and music. The phone bonds with the car when I get in and detects the bluetooth audio player then autoplays. I'd like to choose when it plays. Having not listened to music on the phone during my journey I get out of the car and the phone detects the bluetooth is lost and plays music through the phones speakers. This means every time I get out of the car I have to get the phone out of my pocket, unlock the phone, find the media player / widget and stop the music. Could I control when media plays with bluetooth enabled stereos.

The cars I am trying are 2010 Chevy Traverse and a 2012 Chevy Cruze. Is it the car bluetooth? I found on my search where it looked like others have been able to do it on these vehicles.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was pulling my hair out trying to get media audio to stay connected on my S6 and Ford Sync audio system. I tried everything until I realized I had overlooked the obvious. Media audio would not stay connected, but call audio would. You have to select Bluetooth as the input on the Sync system. Only then will it say media audio connected on the phone and music will start playing assuming you have songs on the phone. So for those having trouble with media audio, make certain Bluetooth is selected on your car audio.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to call out to anyone, there can be a delay of 1 - 1 1/2 MINUTES between when I hit the call button and when the "Dialing" screen comes up. At first I thought this might be because of my Google Voice settings but that doesn't appear to be the case. I've changed the settings to every option and even turned it off completely but still have the same effect. Doesn't matter if I dial using the quick dial widgets or the contacts directory either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night I bought two CDs on line. i downloaded them to my computer and plugged in my phone to download to the phone. Media link started up and downloaded every CD on the computer before I could stop it. (I had selected only the new CD's in media link) I had to go into my music and delete everything that was duplicated. Then I discovered that my playlists were all empty. I had gone though all of my music and put all songs in playlists. Now I had to do it again!! I thought I was all fixed up and discovered this morning that all 1,290 photos from my computer were loaded onto my phone as well. DO NOT leave media link on your computer. I'm removing it when I get home and I'll start doing the old copy/paste routine. Motorola should send warnings about Media Link to all customers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere is a delay (~300ms) in the incoming audio stream when using the built-in sip client. i've spent days figuring out its cause. tried with a local sip registrar ([e72] [linksys spa921], both on the same lan) but the latency is the same. pings to the phone are in the 20ms range, so this couldn't be the source of the delay. i've played around with the codecs (g711, g729) and jitter buffer settings, and it didn't help either. my conclusion was that it must be the nokia sip stack which introduces the latency. then i installed fring and nimbuzz (i think they have a proprietary sip ipmlementation), same latency again... at last i wrote a simple j2me ping-like application to test the socket connection performance to my pc, and all the packets arrived in <30ms.
do you have any ideas? btw, does anybody know if the engineers at nokia were smart enough making it possible to focus the camera when the optical navi key is disable.
using OpenCore (under the stock audio player), the media player will not play newer MP3 files with high bit-rate encoding. Any of my MP3 files encoded in such a manner come up unsupported and will not play. However, lo and behold, I put the MP3s on my ORIGINAL DROID, and they play just fine using Stagefright (under the stock audio player) in Froyo. Attempting to use Stagefright on the X2 results in skipping/stuttering with these files (though there are no issues with other files). So, what now? After all of the music skipping/stuttering issues, certain MP3 files are now just completely unsupported? What gives? I continue to be completely and utterly let down by this POS phone and the complete lack of support.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got myself the Bold 9700. Ive managed to load movies into it and they work fine except one minor glitch. Now the pic quality is brilliant and there is audio too but the only problem is that there is a few seconds delay between the audio or the dialogue and the actual scene. The audio is 1 or 2 seconds later than the actual scene.
Also when i first loaded video files into the phone and i played the file for the first time i got an option "optimize screen for playback" Upon selecting this option the video got into full screen mode but now i just do not get this option and the videos r really very small so i'am using a software where i have to increase the resolution that fits into the screen.
I just got my Atrix 2 yesterday in hopes of it replacing my iPod touch as a music and phone device.I loaded up my stuff and went to my car to test it out (obviously through the headphone jack) and I was dramatically disappointed. I went straight to Amazon to look at the price of the latest iPod model! Sounds like a muffled tape deck.There are just plain out frequencies that are muffled or missing on the Atrix 2. Does not take a good ear to hear it either. I wish I could sit down with every person who looks at this or a Motorola engineer to show them.

My previous phone worked correctly and auto-connected when I started the car.. I've fully deleted all devices and pairings from the car and the phone and re-paired the new phone several times. NG. I have my playback volume as high as it will go, and still can just barely hear anything. I can use Tango and make phone calls just fine, so it seems that my mic is working. The only time I've noticed the problem is when I'm trying to record a video. Even if the person I'm recording is standing right in front of my and speaking in a loud, clear voice, I can't hear much in the recorded video.

View 15 Replies View RelatedOne thing my phone used to do flawlessly before the Gingerbread update was play music. I use Pandora, Google Music, Amazon music, etc and they all worked perfectly before the update.
Since the update listening to music has become a painful experience. Audio has become extremely glitchy to the point where its unlistenable (sputtering, skipping, etc if you are familiar with an Xrun that is how I would describe it). Usually this happens when I'm listing to music while working in other apps (ie, scrolling through a feed in tweetdeck) but it sometimes happens when playing music is the only thing I'm doing with the phone.
It isn't 100% consistent, it's about 50% consistent, but, if I plug my Atrix HD into a computer with the USB cable (which I have to do quite often since the battery isn't long-lasting), playing audio stutters about every 15 to 30 seconds. Sometimes the pause/stutter can be for 2 or 3 seconds. However, mostly it's probably only 1/2 second. Regardless, it's disconcerting to listen to music or a podcast and have it pause every few seconds.

E.g. lowering the volume does not actually decrease the volume until you get down to muting the device (which does still work). There are no problems when listening through the headphone out, but I don't wish to negate the functionality of the rather expensive Motorola Cardock.This is a major inconvenience as it generally causes an ugly distortion and could damage my car speakers.

I was able to install Media Link on my Dell Vostro PC running Windows 7, but keep getting the error message during installation on my Dell desktop running VIsta Home Premium that Media Link cannot find MotoHelper Driver 5.0 (I have removed some of the underlines, etc. for brevity's sake). I have installed that MotoHelper Driver about 300 times, but still get this error message.
What is the trick to getting Media LInk to install?
I just purchased a Media Dock and It's plugged in correctly.It just DOESN'T charge the phone.
