Motorola Atrix 2 :: Video Is Jerky When Combined With Audio?
Oct 17, 2011Well the good news is I demuxed the files that were choppy and the video plays 100% fine with NO audio. So its an audio issue.

View 15 RepliesI called moto this morning and told them the phone is awesome, but the camera can't focus on anything, and the video is jerky. The customer service guy told me he is sending the problem up the latter and is confident that it will be addressed with the next firmware update. He said there were a few people having the same problem. I'm not ready to get rid of this phone, but the camera/video camera are not on the same level with other 8mp/1080 p recording devices.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to record video. I'm getting some nice image quality, but almost no sound. The audio is extremely muffled. I have my playback volume as high as it will go, and still can just barely hear anything. I can use Tango and make phone calls just fine, so it seems that my mic is working. The only time I've noticed the problem is when I'm trying to record a video. Even if the person I'm recording is standing right in front of my and speaking in a loud, clear voice, I can't hear much in the recorded video.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was so excited to get Gingerbread (2.3.4) cause now Video chat is supposed to work with GTalk.I tried it on my Atrix and I can see the other person's video feed. But the other person can't see me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my Atrix 2 yesterday in hopes of it replacing my iPod touch as a music and phone device.I loaded up my stuff and went to my car to test it out (obviously through the headphone jack) and I was dramatically disappointed. I went straight to Amazon to look at the price of the latest iPod model! Sounds like a muffled tape deck. There are just plain out frequencies that are muffled or missing on the Atrix 2. Does not take a good ear to hear it either. I wish I could sit down with every person who looks at this or a Motorola engineer to show them.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow do I get in-call audio to play on my car speakers? If I plug in Car AUX to the headphone jack, in-call audio and music both play over the speakers... however if my Atrix is in the craddle, music plays over the speakers, but calls are in speaker-phone mode through the phone speakers.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a normal skype to skype call I can't hear the other persons voice. Yesterday, I could hear on switching on the speaker but after doing a factory reset I can't hear any sound. Mic is working fine as the person on the other end can hear me properly. Is this a handset fault or normal with motorola ATRIX.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 2010 Mazda Speed 3 and I hear this is a common problem. Phone calls are fine but media playback has a 3 second delay with Bluetooth in the car. I don't have this problem with other Bluetooth speakers or ear pieces. Is this delay a common problem for vehicles or is it just MY vehicle?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOne thing my phone used to do flawlessly before the Gingerbread update was play music. I use Pandora, Google Music, Amazon music, etc and they all worked perfectly before the update.
Since the update listening to music has become a painful experience. Audio has become extremely glitchy to the point where its unlistenable (sputtering, skipping, etc if you are familiar with an Xrun that is how I would describe it). Usually this happens when I'm listing to music while working in other apps (ie, scrolling through a feed in tweetdeck) but it sometimes happens when playing music is the only thing I'm doing with the phone.
It isn't 100% consistent, it's about 50% consistent, but, if I plug my Atrix HD into a computer with the USB cable (which I have to do quite often since the battery isn't long-lasting), playing audio stutters about every 15 to 30 seconds. Sometimes the pause/stutter can be for 2 or 3 seconds. However, mostly it's probably only 1/2 second. Regardless, it's disconcerting to listen to music or a podcast and have it pause every few seconds.
View 8 Replies View RelatedCame from LG G4 that didn't have these issues with the same apps.
Sometimes the audio will work fine (notice this more when I'm on WiFi) but sometimes, in all apps (snapchat, facebook, regular gallery view) the video will play but the audio will cut in and out.
Not sure what it is. Phone is rooted (systemless) and is running the EX Kernel. I didn't mess with the audio settings in the EX Manager...
This is a huge issue for me as I spend a lot of time on Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube (I'm a vlogger, etc.).
improve audio during video recording?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe bluetooth handling on the Atrix is clumsy! It seems to make some silly assumptions. Assumptions like, if there is a Bluetooth (bt) earpiece connected, the bt earpiece must be in the person's ear -- it couldn't possibly be in a pocket, or sitting on the desk. Also it assumes that if there are multiple bt devices around You must only want to be able to use one at a time. I have three bt earpieces, and a moto roadster handsfree. I hope in the car with my earpiece in my pocket and expect to be able to press the button on the roadster to connect it/use it... Atrix assumes I should only be connected to the bt in my pocket. I have never had a more hands-free experience on any other phone ever.
On my Sony Erisson (se) phone, it seemed to very intelligently handle Becky Tripp switching/routing/preference. E.g. a phone call comes in on the se, and all I have to do is press the answer button on any of the nearby devices, and the audio is automatically router to the device I pressed the button on.... Moto? No way! You have to play the "dig around in the menus game" - ridiculous. Again, do the people who write this code, actually use it? Or are they only interested in making it "just good enough to satisfy the board members"? Stop trying to play "keep up with everyone else after the fact", and start putting effort into getting ahead of the game.
Also, on the SE, when a call comes in, there's a menu that puts every possible audio routing option on screen -- it puts the selection instantly and intelligently within reach... it asks, "Sound: Phone, Speaker, Jabra 8040, Moto Roadster, Jabra SP200, BlueAnt S4 ?" I've missed calls numerous times, because the methodology, the paradigm behind achieving user preference is so cumbersome. I cannot silence the ringer by pressing a volume key? The lack of hardware buttons needs to be addressed...
I've noticed that the volume does not change at all when output is the car dock. E.g. lowering the volume does not actually decrease the volume until you get down to muting the device (which does still work). There are no problems when listening through the headphone out, but I don't wish to negate the functionality of the rather expensive Motorola Cardock. This is a major inconvenience as it generally causes an ugly distortion and could damage my car speakers.
View 6 Replies View RelatedVery happy with my Atrix 4G (running 2.3.4) and I've invested in 3 docks: desk, car, and laptop.
I've recently started having problems when using the phone (on battery) playing audio through a bluetooth speaker. This happens with music on the phone with the default Android music player, with Audible's player (for books), and the Pandora music app. Since that's a mix of local and remote (WiFi) content it can't be a WiFi problem.
The problem does not occur when the phone is powered (via the car or laptop dock).
I've searched high and low for an auto app shutdown setting, but can't find it. BTW, Battery Mode is Performance.
I'm new to smartphones and since getting my ARTIX have been using it instead of an iPod for listening to music, audio books, podcasts, etc.One problem however is that when the phone locks the audio player is no longer accessible beyond the volume control that's on the side of the phone. As a result whenever I want to pause, rewind or forward what I am listening to I have to unlock the phone to access the player.I asked my kids about this and they showed me how on their iPhones they could access the audio player without unlocking the phone. So far I have been unable to figure out how to do this on my ATRIX.After searching the settings on the ATRIX I found "Settings>Location & Security Setings>Security Lock Timer (when display is off)" but noticed that Security Lock Timer switch is "Gray" and unavailable on my ATRIX.
View 6 Replies View Related(I have a pair of S10's and a pair of S9's. The problems below happen using either one, but let's focus on the S10's. The problem is not interference between the two). When I pair my S10-HD set to my laptop (Acer TimelineX, Windows 7 64-bit, Broadcomm Bluetooth 3.0 USB driver 6.3.0.5900, Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator6.1.7600.16805), I have two options: 1) With Audio Sink disabled in Services (device>properties>services tab) I get great audio, but it cuts out continually (sound goes off and on) AND it is out of sync with video (in all video programs... Windows Media Player, VLC, and Silverlight); or 2) It is in sync, but is horrible sound (muffled volume, awful constant static).
This is what I have tried: All combinations of services, allow and disallow bluetooth devices to find this computer, clearing pairs and re-pairing over and over and disconnecting reconnecting and closing applications rebooting and closing and relaunching applications (all combinations for all tried scenarios), turning off ALL wireless devices in the house, never S9's and S10's on same machine, and I've tried every combination of button pressing on the headset. Bluetooth is set as the default playback device. The headset pairs perfectly with my iPhone 4 (the phone was not on during pairing or when experiencing the problem).
With large movie files (greater than 500MB), there is audio distortion while playing during action sequences or loud volume dialog (does not occur with audio files or as far as I can tell smaller video files).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was going to try a faster class 10 SD first. I think class 6 should be the minimum for HD movies.
The quality and sound is superb, but it's just slightly out of sync. The video is about 14 minutes in length and is 1.10GB in size. On playback on the phone, it sometimes stutters (like the music stutter) and drops frames, but watch it from a computer with the file still on the SD card, and it plays flawlessly. I know the Tegra 2 is capable of 1080p encoding/decoding, so it should have no issues with 720p. What did Motorola do to this thing?
Is there a way to change the colors of each account in the combined inbox? The phone selects the colors automatically when addeding the accounts. Currently I have: Grey, Light Blue, Dark Blue. Which are *REALLY* hard to tell the difference between all 3 colors when just glancing at the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI currently have 5 email accounts tied to the combined (blur?) inbox on my phone. When I receive an email on a particular account, I can access it just fine through the notification bar. What I haven't been able to do is figure out (short of changing the primary account under settings), is how to seemlessly go from one account to another within the app.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought an Atrix a few months ago and have had a few problems, but have had NO time to address it. So, I've just ignored it. The main problem is that I cannot play a video that has been sent to me via text. I am able to play videos that I record on the Atrix. I have even sent myself a video from my Atrix and it has played. I don't know why my phone is unable to play videos that have been texted to me.
Another problem is that my ringtone will not stay correct. Sometimes my ringtone will be what I have selected and other times it plays an old ringtone that I had set from my previous phone. I have checked the settings for my ringtone. I don't have any specialized ringtones for any specific people on my contacts list. So my ringtone can be one of 3 songs that are on my songs list. compared to the one listed above. I dont know how a phone this "smart" cannot play videos received.
I am new to both the Atrix and smart phones and have a few questions I was hoping somebody else had already figured out.
1)I installed Skype on the phone and it seems to work fine; however, I cannot figure out how to do video calling. I assumed that the front camera was there for the sole purpose of doing video to video calls; however, when my wife tried to make a video call to me I didn't receive video (she called my from her computer, on the exact same WiFi router).I went through every setting I could find and was unable to locate anything that would enable video calls.
2)I have noticed that my cellular reception seems weak compared to my wife's Motorolla XT 720.She regularly has 1-2 bars more than me in the exact same place.Any ideas why and if there is anything I can do to improve my cellular reception?
3)Whenever I get a new computer I like to remove all the bloatware installed by the manufacturer.I'd like to do the same on the phone, but I know so little about Android that I'm afraid I might remove something important. My phone is factory unlocked (but not jail broken) and seems to have a lot of AT&T junk on it that I really don't want/need. Are there any installed apps that I'd be better off leaving alone, and are there any that I really want to make sure I ditch?
4)I made the mistake of adding my facebook account when I set up my MotoBlur (another yuck ).Unfortunately I'm overseas for a couple years, and have no desire for these people to show up in my contacts when I'm trying to make a phone call.Is there any way to delete all my facebook contacts from my telephone contacts?
I have a BB 9650 with O/S 5..0.0.975.Main issue is that the voice and video of a video file are not in sync. The video plays slower than the voice. I believe that it is true for all video files. They were all loaded via BB Desktop Manager and all the files have the same extensions (MP4). They play fine on my computer.don't tell me to load O/S 6.0. That OS does has so many bugs that it is useless. I have loaded it twice over the course of 6 or 7 months and both times it simply fails to function properly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that the video playback, on the Lapdock, can be really clear, sharp and smooth. Other times it can be a little laggy, not as clear and blocky. (It changes between the two every 5 to 10 min.) Sometimes I've seen a message pop up that says something like, the video is not optimized for mobile. This is streaming thru Firefox, using HBO GO website. (I haven't had a chance to check this with netflix.) I've tried to let the buffers feel up for a few minutes as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to play an AVI video file (from an 808 keychain camera) that I copied from my computer to the phone SD card, the file comes up & plays but all I get is audio with a blank/black screen. The files play fine on the computer. I tried small ( 8mg ) files but no difference. I use the stock media player w/ flash player which has worked great for everything up till now. OS is 2.3.6.

the email address I am using is within my own domain of which I am the controller. There is no limit on my mailbox in regards to how large a file I can send. I wonder how to adjust the settings ont he Atrix to cure this bug/feature.
