Motorola Atrix 4G :: Playing Music/audio Through Bluetooth Times Out?

Aug 17, 2011

Very happy with my Atrix 4G (running 2.3.4) and I've invested in 3 docks: desk, car, and laptop.

I've recently started having problems when using the phone (on battery) playing audio through a bluetooth speaker. This happens with music on the phone with the default Android music player, with Audible's player (for books), and the Pandora music app. Since that's a mix of local and remote (WiFi) content it can't be a WiFi problem.

The problem does not occur when the phone is powered (via the car or laptop dock).

I've searched high and low for an auto app shutdown setting, but can't find it. BTW, Battery Mode is Performance.

Motorola Atrix :: Can't Stop Music Playing

Oct 5, 2011

For some reason, walking to my car this morning, my Atrix began to play an audiobook file (MP3). One that I had listened to days ago.

After months of using the phone and happily listening to audio books this issue has just occured this morning.

I swiped open the phone only to find that the (stock) music player was not actually running. Have not been able to find a way to stop the file(s) from playing.

1. rebooting the phone simply restarts the playback of the file from its begining.

2. When the phone is sleeping (screen black), I have no control of the volume (as I would using media player)

3. If I swipe the phone to vibrate or silent, the playback goes silent (though I believe it continues playing)

4. I don't believe I have any ther media players installed.

5. Attempting to play a file in the (stock) music player, results in the file trying to play (the slider moves left to right), but only the audiobook is audible.

6. Have tried cycling power, removing battery, and ManageApps->clearing cache, and even uninstalling a number of downloaded apps - nothing helps.

7. I don't believe my phone vibrates any longer when I receive a notification for incoming text or email.

Motorola Atrix 4G :: Bluetooth Audio Matrix / Routing Clumsy

May 25, 2011

The bluetooth handling on the Atrix is clumsy! It seems to make some silly assumptions. Assumptions like, if there is a Bluetooth (bt) earpiece connected, the bt earpiece must be in the person's ear -- it couldn't possibly be in a pocket, or sitting on the desk. Also it assumes that if there are multiple bt devices around You must only want to be able to use one at a time. I have three bt earpieces, and a moto roadster handsfree. I hope in the car with my earpiece in my pocket and expect to be able to press the button on the roadster to connect it/use it... Atrix assumes I should only be connected to the bt in my pocket. I have never had a more hands-free experience on any other phone ever.

On my Sony Erisson (se) phone, it seemed to very intelligently handle Becky Tripp switching/routing/preference. E.g. a phone call comes in on the se, and all I have to do is press the answer button on any of the nearby devices, and the audio is automatically router to the device I pressed the button on.... Moto? No way! You have to play the "dig around in the menus game" - ridiculous. Again, do the people who write this code, actually use it? Or are they only interested in making it "just good enough to satisfy the board members"? Stop trying to play "keep up with everyone else after the fact", and start putting effort into getting ahead of the game.

Also, on the SE, when a call comes in, there's a menu that puts every possible audio routing option on screen -- it puts the selection instantly and intelligently within reach... it asks, "Sound: Phone, Speaker, Jabra 8040, Moto Roadster, Jabra SP200, BlueAnt S4 ?" I've missed calls numerous times, because the methodology, the paradigm behind achieving user preference is so cumbersome. I cannot silence the ringer by pressing a volume key? The lack of hardware buttons needs to be addressed...

Motorola Atrix 4G :: Playing Music Causes Reboots With Gingerbread

Aug 16, 2011

After upgrading to Gingerbread I'm noticing that playing music via media players causes my Atrix to either lock up or spontaneously reboot. This is happening even after a factory reset. This had so far occured with Winamp (which I haven't reinstalled since my factory reset), Amazon MP3 and Google Music Beta. This has occured both while I was listening to the music on my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone ICON) and also just playing it back via the built-in speaker.

Motorola Atrix HD :: Audio Stutter With Podcasts And Music?

Jul 24, 2012

It isn't 100% consistent, it's about 50% consistent, but, if I plug my Atrix HD into a computer with the USB cable (which I have to do quite often since the battery isn't long-lasting), playing audio stutters about every 15 to 30 seconds. Sometimes the pause/stutter can be for 2 or 3 seconds. However, mostly it's probably only 1/2 second. Regardless, it's disconcerting to listen to music or a podcast and have it pause every few seconds.

Motorola Atrix 2 :: Synced All ITunes Songs - Music Will Stop Playing Randomly

When I play songs on my music player with my headphones, the music will stop randomly. Some other times it won't stop and will play for a long time. I had a feeling it was somehow related to turning the screen off using the power button after I start my playlist but I am not sure about it. Again with this case, sometimes it stops and other times it would play correct. There are some apps as on my auto-end list but music player isn't one of them

Motorola Droid 4 :: Bluetooth Audio - Occasional Skipping In Music

Feb 17, 2012

Just got the Droid 4 yesterday. Using it on Verizon's 4g network, and have discovered a really annoying issue: When playing audio across a bluetooth connection (either to a droid roadster or my 2012 chevy sonic), there are occasional skips in the music. This happens about once every 4-6 seconds, and the cutout is brief, about 1/8th of a second. It does not happen for phone calls, nor do the skips happen if I disable bluetooth and listen via the built in speaker or the headphone jack.

Wifi is disabled, and the source of the audio doesn't seem to matter. I've tried Pandora, Tune-in radio, and locally saved music, same result. It's not the network, as I just upgraded from a Samsung Droid Charge (also a 4g phone) which does not have this issue. I've unpaired from all sources, and re-paired, rebooted the phone, tried while charging / not charging, enabling gps / disabling gps, everything I can think of to isolate the issue. This phone is my in-car entertainment device, and if I can't use it for it's intended purpose, it's useless to me.

Motorola Atrix 2 :: Music Player Interaction With Car Bluetooth

Feb 3, 2012

How do I control which music player is used when my phone is connected to my car's bluetooth? Or, is there anyway to disable the stock music player? For example, I have the atrix's stock music player, google music, and spotify installed on my phone, and the phone will randomly select which one it would like to use when the bluetooth connects. Even if I was just listening to google music, when the bluetooth connects, the phone will automatically switch to the stock player (even though last time I was in the car I was using google music).

Sometimes I'll be listening to google music, and when I change the song it will revert to the stock player. How to make it so that the music always stops when bluetooth disconnects? The music player will randomly keep playing or pause when I turn the car off. I want it to always pause. This seems to be affected by random music programs being installed (even when not in use) such as spotify or iheartradio.

I'm using PocketCasts and the media is on the phone for that. Also using doubletwist and it's media is on SD.

Took me a long time to notice it because some podcasts aren't the greatest quality. Thing is if I rewind and replay that section it usually plays fine meaning the phone did something wrong.

Motorola Atrix :: Bluetooth And Autoplay Music With Media Player?

Jun 29, 2011

My car stereo is bluetooth capable for both telephone and music. The phone bonds with the car when I get in and detects the bluetooth audio player then autoplays. I'd like to choose when it plays. Having not listened to music on the phone during my journey I get out of the car and the phone detects the bluetooth is lost and plays music through the phones speakers. This means every time I get out of the car I have to get the phone out of my pocket, unlock the phone, find the media player / widget and stop the music. Could I control when media plays with bluetooth enabled stereos.

Motorola Atrix 4G :: Music Player Sorry 'audio Player Does Not Support'

Aug 8, 2011

so I have a GB 2.3.4 Atrix 4G, and usually, it plays my music and takes pictures fine. But every so often (it seems everyday), I wind up rebooting after, when trying to player music, it says "sorry, this type of file is not supported," even tho I've been playing them all the time. Also, when this happens, the camera and camcorder also happen to stop working, saying " (or blur)" unexpectedly closed. All my songs are MP3 or MPEG4, and usually all play.

Why is this happening on an update? What can be done to prevent it? Are there apps I need to keep off the "auto-end list?" Does rooting a phone bring this on (via pre-install method)? Or is this a common glitch? I have also complained about the way the music player doesn't have an "all songs" option for the player. Personally, I think a blur 5.0 needs to come out already.

IPhone :: Stops Playing Music Through AUX And / Or Bluetooth

May 13, 2012

I recently updated to 5.1.1 and my phone will stop playing music through the headphone/AUX jack. Pulling out the cord and plugging it back in reinitiates the music, but it will stop soon afterwards again. The song is still playing (because play icon still up). Thought it was a problem with the cord, but other iPhones (not updated--friends phones) work just fine for long periods with no interruption. I checked out the headphone jack looking for lint or debris and did not find any, so I did a restore.

After restore of phone same problem, random cutting out using the headphone jack. This morning it is doing the same cutting out while playing music with my Bluetooth Bose speaker... so I tested it with my physical stereo system dock, again, music cuts out. (I've tested all my music devices--Bluetooth speaker, physical stereo dock, and car aux jack/cord with other NON-updated iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S with no problems like the one I am having.)

I usually listen to a podcast on my iPod, then switch to a CD if the podcast episode ends before I get to work. To do so, I flip past my Bluetooth audio setting on my radio. I've already disabled the Bluetooth connection for media in my phone, but all that's done is stop music from playing through the speakers of my car. My phone still begins to auto-play music, either music that's stored in my phone or launching Spotify and starting to play what I last listened to on there. Motorola Atrix 4G :: It Reboots 1 To 2 Times A Day?

Dec 11, 2011

there have been many posts on this issue but no real answers. why?i have done a total of five factory resets on my atrix.second was through the android recovery menu. still reboots randomly.third was through the system menu and did not install any apps, just factory defaults. still reboots.fourth was after i got a new sim card from the att store. it was mentioned to try that out. you guessed it restarts/reboots randomly.fifth and current was through the android recovery menu with clearing the cache and creating a new moto blur account as well as leaving factory default apps. nope still does this point i should have a new phone right. should be practically new! actually it is, still has the sticker on the back. most of my reboots seem to be data related. some are using the stock navigation app, happens every time i use it. what a pain to have the phone reset right before my exit comes up. some reboots are while surfing the web on wifi and att 3g. hell i've had the thing lock up and reboot while browsing files and looking through photos of my kids. even switching screens for cyring out loud. these mostly seem to happen during some sort of data transfer of sorts. web, netflix, Internet, ect.

my first atrix had these issues on froyo and i replaced it within the 30 day window. the second one was fine until gingerbread. i participated in the beta and the update locked it up and wouldn't even boot. this third atrix came with gingerbread stock from moto support and has rebooted since i took it out of the this point i'm counting down the days till i'm do for an upgrade from att and plan to switch to the galaxy s ii. my galaxy tab 10.1 had not had a single problem since i unboxed it! the atrix problem were the main reason i didn't buy the xoom. i wonder if these problems with the atrix are the reason the atrix 2 came out so soon..well i wish there were a real solution because now that the lapdock and other accessories are close to $50.00 from att i was about to buy them. nope......not unless these issues were resolved. hell most likely wont be a repeat moto customer here.
