Motorola Droid X :: Pandora & Audio Podcast Stops Playing
Aug 9, 2011
I would think it is a problem in my settings but dont know enough to know what it would be. Pandora use to play all of the time in the beginning but about 3 weeks ago it would play 4-6 songs then stop. I would have to shut it down and bring it back up to get it going again. I uninstalled/reinstalled it yesterday and now it will stop on the first song. I thought it might be Pandora but it is doing the same thing on audio podcasts.
When using Pandora, I double click the home button, and the list of apps shows up on the bottom of the screen. However, when I select the mail app, Pandora stops playing music.
Didn't notice that every video I record after my last update , can only record audio and video the first minute or less and then for some reason playback stops but you can still listen to audio. This has happened to all my recorded videos.
Read somewhere on the internet that you have to delete DATA and clear CACHE on the Camera app, have not recorded any video since then, but will try to see if this works.
This is a combination issue. I noticed with my Lumia 920, that if it had a weak/poor WiFi signal, it would still try to use that, and apps would report a bad internet connection, even when the LTE signal was great. This same thing seems to happen with my 950. Here at work, we have no WiFi. There are some nearby, but weak. If the phone latches on to one of them Pandora will report the internet connection is bad.
So, while at work I turn off WiFi. Problem solved, right? Wrong... WiFi turns itself back on from time to time. Why can't it fallback to my LTE when WiFi is bad? Why does it turn WiFi back on on it's own? Should I report this to the Insider program?
I have a brand new MOTOACTV 8GB and have only used it to TRY and listen to music around the house and outside once to walk my dog. I can't get through three complete songs without the device stopping a song. Sometimes it will randomly start to song over after a few seconds, sometimes it will move on to the next song. I have done a factory reset, upgraded to the newest software 6.13, and tried three different music formats, all supported. The same things happens regardless of what I try. If I can't get this thing to play music I'm really skeptical as to the rest of the functions.
I'm just getting used to my new droid 3, and learning all of the quirks that come with it. In the past, I used my old Droid Eris to listen to Pandora over 3G wireless at work, and never had any issue with Pandora cutting out or stopping even when the phone's display went to sleep. However, on my new Droid 3, it cuts out like clockwork after about 20 minutes, whether or not the display is active or asleep. In order to try to keep this from happening I have changed the Battery mode to performance, turned off data saver (no sense running it streaming music ) and in Pandora turned auto shutoff to Never, and have tried Auto lock both on and off. I am thinking that the built in task manager may be killing it?
Attempted to download Pandora. The Downloading bar is running constantly. When I click the "x" to stop the download, I get a message: "The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." How can I stop this and how can I remove the orange diamond with an exclamation mark from appearing in my Status bar?
OK, just found another issue with my Droiid X2 running 2.3.4...
I'm having issues with Pandora on my X2 running 2.3.4, I cannot get Pandora to connect and play at all unless it is through WiFi. Then, it only buffers one song and dies due to the problem with the X2 wifi not staying active even when the sleep policy is set to never.Pandora doesn't work on 3g except for the inital advertisement.
Any streaming music on my Droidx quits after 1 or 2 songs. I've read that "always on mobile data" needs to be enabled and the way to do this is to go to Settings - Wireless & networks - Mobile Networks - check the enable box. However, on my phone, option is not there. When I go to Mobile Networks, all I see is System Select - Home Only or Automatic. Is "always on mobile data" actually the answer to avoiding streaming music to stop? If so, how do I set it?
Phone gets really warm sometimes? Sometimes when playing games (dinosaur games to be precise, I just watched Jurassic Park 3D) it gets warm, same when streaming Pandora.
When watching videos and listening to football commentary online the player keeps stopping and wont come back online until I restart the page it plays for about 1min then stops again?
I would like to record an audio track for a podcast, with the iphone 4, I have yet to buy a microphone. Anyone has experience on this? Which microphone I could buy, the IRIG?
So I had a chance to start and really flex the stock music app. This application is a huge improvment over the GB one on the DX.I was able to subscribe to a few podcasts like *** with Marc Maron with no problems.I was notified this morning that a new episode had been downloaded to the RAZR.I can not add my own podcast feeds , which means ones that I have paid subscriptions to will have to find a different application (PodTrapper is what I used on my DX).
The application was able to find my music easily and even downloaded the cover art While playing a song the application with scrob to Last.fm if configured. It will also download the Lyrics for the playing song and show them on the screen. The application will show recommended news, songs that are related.I did not have time to try out Motocast yet and I am hoping to get to it this weekend..While playing either a podcast or music you can have the application running in the background to listen and allows quick access via the notifications bar.If the screen is locked you have quick access to pause/play and skip forward/backwards in your playlist.I found this to work very well. One issue that I did find is that if you are listening to a podcast and you use the application to pause ( not from a lock screen ) it will not pause, but will end the episode and then you must restart and try to move to last place it was playing.A few things that could be added to make this perfect.
1. Allow me to add my own podcast subscriptions along with ones that require authentication
2. Fix the pause button for podcasts
3. Allow me to add Google Music and or Amazon Cloud Music as a music source
I have an unrooted Bionic that I want to be able to control the sound a little more. Some music or other audio files are quiet, so I have to turn up my radio to hear it well. This causes a problem when I'm using navigation at the same time, because when it tells me to turn it's super loud. Is there a way, or an app out there to adjust the volume of my navigation separate from my music player/pandora?
I've had two Razr's behave the same, whenever audio plays, especially using the headphone jack and external speakers, one can hear an audiable click or pop just before and after the audio plays. This happens with Pandora, Rhapsody, and Google Navigator. I haven't tested other audio based apps yet.Verizon and Motorola say they've not heard of this issue, so I'm wondering how many other Razr owners have noticed this pop? Hearing such noises as the audio turns on and off is not acceptable quality for a Motorola branded phone.I don't know enough about how the Android OS works, but I'm thinking there are two possible causes. First, as different apps access the audio hardware the internal electronics of the phone produce an audible pop as the circuits power up and down. Alternatively, the Android OS may be probing the headpone jack trying to determine if it's connected to external speakers. I've noticed that the pop gets louder as the phone approaches 100% charge.
With a 90% charge or better I've even had the audio output go quiet if the headset cable is moved, even though the audio application shows audio is playing. I know that removing the headset cable will pause the player, but in this case hitting play starts the player and it shows progress, but no audio is heard.
I've been using my Moto Droid, running Android 2.2.2 for some time now. Up until recently, I've been able to use it to listen to Pandora and mp3s loaded onto the phone. Now, any time I plug a set of headphones into the audio jack, the audio is really distorted. It sounds like a channel is out or something, and this happens across all volume levels. It pretty much sounds like you're listening to music underwater. Doesn't matter if it's streaming adio through Pandora or mp3 audio. When I unplug the headset (any headset, mind you) and go to external speaker, the audio is fine.
Very happy with my Atrix 4G (running 2.3.4) and I've invested in 3 docks: desk, car, and laptop.
I've recently started having problems when using the phone (on battery) playing audio through a bluetooth speaker. This happens with music on the phone with the default Android music player, with Audible's player (for books), and the Pandora music app. Since that's a mix of local and remote (WiFi) content it can't be a WiFi problem.
The problem does not occur when the phone is powered (via the car or laptop dock).
I've searched high and low for an auto app shutdown setting, but can't find it. BTW, Battery Mode is Performance.
With large movie files (greater than 500MB), there is audio distortion while playing during action sequences or loud volume dialog (does not occur with audio files or as far as I can tell smaller video files).
i have a problem with video playing. i put some video from my pc via nokia pc suite and convert it to my n97. iit`s playing only few seconds and then the video stops but sound is still playing. i tried put the video without converting in mp4 formate but it`s the same. if i try to play some downloaded video from ovi or some carptured video it plays with no problems. i`ve already tried to reinstall my frimeware but it didn`t solve the problem...video : http://www.Internet.com/watch?v=ebhub4qetys
I'm thinking about getting an iPhone or iPod touch and want to listen to podcasts. With my current MP3 player/software combination I have a problem dealing with podcasts. So I'm wondering if iTunes+iPod/iPhone can do what I want. This is what I'm looking for:
I want to be able to have a playlist containing all podcasts that I haven't listened to. When a new podcast comes out I want to be able to sync with iTunes and have the new podcast get appended to the playlist. Preferably I should not have to choose which podcasts to append. All new podcasts should just be automatically appended. I don't want to have to make a new playlist everytime I download a new podcast and I don't want to lose my place in the playlist. I just want to sync the podcast and have it show up in my podcast playlist. Once I've listened to a podcast I want it to be deleted and taken off of the playlist. Thus the playlist should just act like a queue where podcasts that have been listened to get deleted and new podcasts get appended. I know that iTunes/iPod has some functionality in dealing with podcasts, but can it do all of this? If not, do you know of any device/software combination that can perhaps non-iPod or software for the iPod touch, something like that? If there's an application which can do this without syncing to iTunes, that would be work too.
I go to apps > options > search and boom - "The application Homescreen (processcom.motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." [Force close]I have confirmed other users are experiencing this.
For those using Handcent for texting - I found a way to keep your LED working after you receive a message.
Since we know that the LED stops as soon as the screen wakes, we need to keep the screen asleep! I love the popup feature of Handcent and am not willing to give that up. But in settings, notification settings, there is a popup setting. In there you can leave the popups enabled but DISABLE wake screen. Just had two messages sent to my phone. Got the sound, then the blinking LED and it remained blinking until I woke the phone up. And the popup is sitting there waiting.
It mostly happens when I'm trying to text, but my keyboard just stops typing. The keys light up as if you are typing, but no letters come up! Only started happening since the update.
Just ran into a different flavor of a bug described here fairly often... instead of my spacebar getting stuck on, and giving me lots of spaces, it stopped responding altogether. Anyone else ever seen this? It was fixed only after a phone reboot.
I've been using my new LG G3 for three days and I'm happy in general. However, I've noticed that, when I play music, sometimes the song stops and goes on. Like a very quickly interruption. It's not a big deal, but it annoys a bit because I listen to a lot of music during the day. The songs are original, copied from CD and they are stored in the SD card. The SD is a good one, I used to use it in my previous Lumia and it worked perfectly. It never happened anything like that with my previous phone. I use the google app Play Music.
Playlist stop playing during runs, not the headphones, tried 3 different ones, and problem persists when on speaker. Sometimes plays 1 song, or 2 songs, on a good day I get 3 songs until it just stops playing sound. Stays in the playlist, just stops.
