Motorola Motoactv :: Music Stops Playing On It?
Jun 16, 2012I have a brand new MOTOACTV 8GB and have only used it to TRY and listen to music around the house and outside once to walk my dog. I can't get through three complete songs without the device stopping a song. Sometimes it will randomly start to song over after a few seconds, sometimes it will move on to the next song. I have done a factory reset, upgraded to the newest software 6.13, and tried three different music formats, all supported. The same things happens regardless of what I try. If I can't get this thing to play music I'm really skeptical as to the rest of the functions.

Jul 29, 2011I have now tried three separate music players (ATT Music Player, Google Music and Winamp. All three have a common problem. I begin playing music, and then after a minute or so, the music stops.I've tried several fixes over the last couple of weeks to rectify the issue including:
-Music players are not on the "Auto-End List."
-I've taken programs that seem to be associated with playing music off the "Auto-End List"
-Phone battery savings setting: Performance Mode
-Screen timeout is set at 1 minute. (I know that this should not affect the music player.)The only time that this doesn't happen is when I set the screen timeout to never. So when it is set to timeout, or when I turn the phone off via the power button, the music plays for a minute or so and then stops.

Jan 18, 2012When I go to the music player and select a song to play, I get a message that tells me to plug in my headphones. The issue is that my headphones are plugged in. I didn't have this issue a week ago. I was listening to my music just fine. I have rebooted the device several times already. The weird thing is that I can hear the boot up sounds through my headphones, as well as notifications. I just can't play music. I have the same issue with the FM radio.

Nov 26, 2011I still have not been able to stop the Atrix music player from stopping after 4 minutes when the screen timeout is set for 2 minutes. Strangest thing. The screen shuts off after 2 minutes as it should but the music keeps playing for exactly 2 more minutes then stops. When the screen is set to never time out, there is no problem, (except unnecessarily buring out the screen and the battery, of course.) The auto-end list in the stock task manager has Music, Gellery, Files and Purchased Media set to NOT shut off. I have read that there are other apps that should be on this list, like News and Weather

Dec 1, 2015I've been using my new LG G3 for three days and I'm happy in general. However, I've noticed that, when I play music, sometimes the song stops and goes on. Like a very quickly interruption. It's not a big deal, but it annoys a bit because I listen to a lot of music during the day. The songs are original, copied from CD and they are stored in the SD card. The SD is a good one, I used to use it in my previous Lumia and it worked perfectly. It never happened anything like that with my previous phone. I use the google app Play Music.

Jun 19, 2012Playlist stop playing during runs, not the headphones, tried 3 different ones, and problem persists when on speaker. Sometimes plays 1 song, or 2 songs, on a good day I get 3 songs until it just stops playing sound. Stays in the playlist, just stops.

May 13, 2012I recently updated to 5.1.1 and my phone will stop playing music through the headphone/AUX jack. Pulling out the cord and plugging it back in reinitiates the music, but it will stop soon afterwards again. The song is still playing (because play icon still up). Thought it was a problem with the cord, but other iPhones (not updated--friends phones) work just fine for long periods with no interruption. I checked out the headphone jack looking for lint or debris and did not find any, so I did a restore.
After restore of phone same problem, random cutting out using the headphone jack. This morning it is doing the same cutting out while playing music with my Bluetooth Bose speaker... so I tested it with my physical stereo system dock, again, music cuts out. (I've tested all my music devices--Bluetooth speaker, physical stereo dock, and car aux jack/cord with other NON-updated iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S with no problems like the one I am having.)

Jun 4, 2012i have iphone 4, iphone 4s and ipod and on all units some songs stop playing and skips to the next song. i have unchecked sync music and put it back on again and still the same result. I also set up a new library and no luck there either.

Nov 28, 2011I want to use my blackberry as audio device when riding my bike. However i noticed that it just stops playing music when there is a new notification, once thats has been cleared, it just resumes playing. This is highly unusable 'cause the torch is somewhere in my jacket.
I saw that this was a common problem and i find it very unlicky that cracking my blackberry (which i bought for 800$) is the only solution to make it work like a 20$ mp3 player.

Anyways, music randomly stops playing and I can't seem to get it back to playing if I don't restart THE WHOLE PHONE. It's very annoying and no this is not an Xbox Music issue since I've tried MixRadio, the Hub Tile and other third party players and this is still happening. Whatever skipping of songs I do it still won't play. Songs are switching but it's stuck on the 'pause' button but it's not playing.. No sounds, time is not running. REALLY annoying.

I've tried trouble shooting mentioned on other parts of this forum. I didn't have the google maps "shake to send feedback" feature on, and this behavior is happening on multiple music apps (Podcast Addict, Google Music, Sony Music, Spotify, etc). Â So this seems to be a problem native to the phone, not a third party application.

Dec 26, 2015Just got a new 6P from Google. I have it unlocked and TWRP installed, but no rooted just yet. Loading everything up on the phone, and I've come across an odd issue. I loaded my 1500 or so songs from my Samsung S5 to the 6P, and Google player only sees some of the songs. All the ones I bought from Amazon and some other random ones I'd ripped from our CD collection. Rocket Player sees them all, but won't play any but the ones Google Player plays. Tried some other music apps, but similar results.
I deleted all the songs, put them back in different folders, wiped the cache on Google Play and Rocket, booted the phone. I used ES File Explorer to go to individual albums and try to play the songs direct from there, but still does not work. I get "Couldn't play the track you selected".
Google search said to nuke all the music and go into Apps>Media and clear the storage, but that is not an option under Apps on this phone. Doesn't really seem like that kind of issue anyway, since it will play some of the songs.

Pandora use to play all of the time in the beginning but about 3 weeks ago it would play 4-6 songs then stop. I would have to shut it down and bring it back up to get it going again. I uninstalled/reinstalled it yesterday and now it will stop on the first song. I thought it might be Pandora but it is doing the same thing on audio podcasts.

Aug 8, 2011so I have a GB 2.3.4 Atrix 4G, and usually, it plays my music and takes pictures fine. But every so often (it seems everyday), I wind up rebooting after, when trying to player music, it says "sorry, this type of file is not supported," even tho I've been playing them all the time. Also, when this happens, the camera and camcorder also happen to stop working, saying "com.camera.android (or blur)" unexpectedly closed. All my songs are MP3 or MPEG4, and usually all play.
Why is this happening on an update? What can be done to prevent it? Are there apps I need to keep off the "auto-end list?" Does rooting a phone bring this on (via pre-install method)? Or is this a common glitch? I have also complained about the way the music player doesn't have an "all songs" option for the player. Personally, I think a blur 5.0 needs to come out already.

Aug 1, 2011Granted I am using Good Technologie's email client for work, but i get wav file attachments for all VM's left for me @ work via email.
I used to be able to just play them on the D2 with Froyo, but it looks like the GB version of the stock player for D3 doesn't play wav files...is this right??
I also tried WinAmp but that doesn't work either.
