So, after I updated to ios 5.1 my iPhone 4 has some problems I never kinda seen before. I own it for more than a year . While at home or any other area, good signal,has a bumper, while speaking with friends I get the Called failed problem. Tried reset network settings, even I restored the firmware ... same . Happens a few times a day..
View 3 RepliesI live in Downtown Los Angeles, so reception isn't a problem. I usually always get full bars. However, when talking on long phone calls 20+ minutes with full bars, my phone will just cut off and say call failed. Then I have no reception, then it just comes back.
Is this a iPhone issue or a ATT issue? I have an odd suspicion it's my phone because it occurs so frequently, but Ive had difficulty asking the apple bar to replace my phone just because of reception issues.
I have been a BB lover for years. My Curve 5320 served me well and I loved it. When the new Bold 9700 was released I was one of the first to get it b/c businesses were offered the opportunity to get it before individuals. I was so excited about 3G, it's sleek look, etc. My excitement has officially crashed and burned. When placing calls it will fail repeatedly before even dialing the number. It will fail during calls up to 5 and 6 times in a few minute period, which is HORRIBLE during business calls. It will lock up when I'm trying to move between apps, it will spontaneously shut itself off. I'm feeling like my BB is possessed. This is my second 9700. The first the E key would stick or repeat 20 times on a text and the calls would fail, so they diligently sent me a new one. Thankfully, I no longer have to edit every text for 100 e's (i'm stopping @ theeeeeee storeeeeeeeeeee is theeeeeeereeeeeee anything you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed), but the failed calls thing is really pissing me off! Also, the volume on calls is really low in comparison to my Curve. To top it off, the 3G speed seems as slow as, if not slower than my former EDGE. I am hoping and praying that a software upgrade will fix all of these issues, but if it doesn't are there any suggestions as to what i can do? Other than switching to an iPhone? I for one happen to love my Qwerty keyboard and am not exactly fond of the on-screen keyboards.

I see that there is an option to create a customized profile, but I am not able to figure out how this might be accomplished.Anyone know how I can select "to receive only calls from 2 people" in my contact list? Should I give them a specific ring-tone and allow only that tone? Or is it possible to specifically select their names from the contact list?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought an unlocked iPhone 5 today. I inserted my sim card, and the phone didn't ask me for the pin, nor did it change its network status to anything else but "searching". For several hours I waited, restarted the phone, toggled plane mode on and off, and tried a few other things I read up on on the internet. None of them worked, the network status still said "searching". So, I decided to try and update the device OS, from iOS 6 to 7.1.2. At first, I tried doing this OTA, so from within the iPhone`s settings. It downloaded the software for about 10 minutes or so, only to after a while, emerge with a message saying that the update failed. This happened several times. I then read a few other posts online, and was recommended to update the device via iTunes. So, I tried this, where, again, it downloaded the software, did some other things such as extracting the software, and then, somewhere in the process, a message popped up on iTunes saying the update had failed. The phone is now still in update mode however, with only the Apple-Logo being displayed on the phone, along with a half-full status bar. Â
What should I do? Should I hard restart the phone? Will this brick it, or is it already bricked? And how can I get it to find a network?

So about 20 minutes ago I connected my iPhone to my computer and iTunes prompted me to update it. I accepted, but as it was applying the updates some type of error popped up. Long story short, it failed to update and now when I turn on my phone it's frozen with the screen showing the USB cord & iTunes icons. I've tried: -Shutting it down by holding the sleep/power button-Shutting it down by holding the Home + sleep/power button-All of my USB ports on my computer-Reinstalling iTunes As soon as I turn it on, it briefly shows the Apple icon then it goes back to the same screen with the iTunes/USB icons. When I connect it to my computer it makes the connection sound but it won't register on iTunes.

I've tried to update both my iphone 4 and 4s both of which was unsuccessful, now all I have on my phones screens are the itunes logo and the usb as if it wants me to attached to itunes! when i do neither of the phones will show up on the itunes screen on my computer ! as if it wont recognise them, went into the apple store in town they want to charge me 5 pounds to sort it which i think is a joke since both phones were fine before this update !

I wasn't too happy today when somebody rear ended my car and I was trying to make important phone calls..."WiFi preferred" selected, but the 9700 (OS 593) choose a 1 bar UMA over a 4.5 bar cell signal... Failed calls galore... Literally had to stop what I was doing and tell the 9700 to use the obviously better cell signal...

View 3 Replies View Relateda couple of days ago I tried to do an update on my W995a via the SEUS program (latest version used, downloaded the day I did the update), It got to about 90% then stopped and stayed at 90% for about 2 - 4 minutes then it came up with Update Failed, I've retried the process a few times and all have failed, I've used the repair feature in the PC Suite program to try to fix the phone but it fails about about 90% as well, I had no issues or software glitches with the phone before attempting the Update. The phone now will not load the OS but instead just sits there with the keypad lights on. Is there a solution to this problem? As this is my main phone and the SEUS program has broken it.

I recently tried to update the software on my iphone 4s through itunes, it appeared to be almost complete when I got an error message saying the update had failed. Now my phone will only load up to the screen saying I have to connect to itunes (pic of a USB pointing to the itunes logo), problem is that now itunes doesn't recognise the phone at all. I have tried all the troubleshooting ideas for itunes not recognising the phone but nothing has worked - USB connection is fine, have reinstalled itunes, apple mobile device program is working properly.. When connecting or disconnecting by plug the computer recognises it (makes the noise to say something's been plugged in/unplugged) however the phone doesn't show up in Computer either. Clearly I need to restore the phone but with itunes not recognising it?

I just bought my iphon last night & tried doing it`s first update this morning. I got an error message that the update failed & now my iphone only shows a pic of a usb cable with an arrow pointing to the itunes logo.I already tried holding down the on off buton & the home button like the instructions say. Problem is that when the instructions say I should be at the part where itunes is again recognizing my iphone, my itune is not recognizing my iphone. So I am stuck. I bought a new verizon storm 2 phone, at least I think its new, and unlocked it for t-mobile. A lot of the times, when I make a call or receive a call after like 10 seconds or so, theres no sound and call fails...Is my phone refurbished or this something that happens commonly with the storm 2? Sometimes I receive calls and make calls just fine, but it does this pretty often.

Tried SIM card in another phone in the same spot and it works. The pearl does get full signal and EDGE. Could this be a hardware problem? The antenna, maybe?

At first it occasionally wouldn't let me make calls and would just come out with 3 beeps and return to the contact list. Then it started to become more frequent until it started to not let me answer any calls. when I press accept call or slide open the phone it just hangs up on the person instead. This is actually starting to make a lot of people angry at me now as they think I am just repeatedly hanging up on them, and I have to spend a good chunk of my day explaining whats going on through text (which works fine). I haven't successfully talked to anyone with my phone for days now, and I know its not a signal issue as I have had full many of the times I have received or made calls.

The phone is stuck in recovery mode, and all attempts to restore the phone have resulted in failure. I keep getting the same error message.
