My son has a Torch, less than a year old. He has just started having a problem with it to day that when he slides the screen out, the screen goes blank. He has noticed that the keys are still working, because when he slides the screen back down whatever he had typed is there on the screen (which quite obviously is working fine when in the down position).
My blackberry torch 9800 was working perfectly fine untill for some unknown reason the screen went completely pixelated, from then on it appears to be normal until you slide open the phone to use the qwerty keypad, therefore i can only use the phone when it is slided shut and have to rely on the touch screen. the only way to get the screen back to normal is to slide it shut and repeatedly press the lock button until it restores itsself and on multiple occassions i have had to remove the battery for the phone to go back to normal.
does anyone know if this is a software problem? or a maufacture problem? or has it been damaged? and is there anyway to fix it..
Recently the trackpad on my bb torch had been acting up and I've figured out it works when my phone is slid down but when I slide it up it doesn't work?Does anyone know what's wrong with it and how it can be fixed?
I was recently on a call when I noticed that I'd lost audio. I'd had the same problem before, but a reboot always fixed it before. This time, a reboot didn't help. After rebooting a second time, I connected my phone to my PC using a USB cable and loaded Samsung PC Studio. (As silly as it may sound, this step fixed my wife's phone several months back when it started to severely lag between keypresses.) No help there, either.I then turned the volume all the way up, started playing a song on my phone, and held my ear up close to the receiver. I could hear a very, very faint sound.
As soon as I slid the phone shut, the speaker went back to full volume. If that were the end of it, I could live with a silly workaround (make call, put call on speakerphone, slide phone shut, take call off speakerphone). But on a recent call, after using the usual workaround, I lost audio even with the phone slid shut.
Samsung tech support walked me through resetting my phone settings to factory defaults (Menu > Settings > (9) Reset Settings > Select "Phone Settings" > OK > Confirm). Still no go. I stopped short of wiping the phone completely because I didn't want to lose my Address Book and because I strongly believe the internal speaker is dying.Whenever the audio has cut in and out, it sounds exactly like a speaker shorting out.
I don't want to get a new phone and extend my contract with AT&T. I don't want to move to another cell phone provider yet (I'm hoping to hold out for when the Galaxy Nexus comes to Sprint then wait for the first price drop), either. I don't want to have to use a Bluetooth headset every time I make or receive a call. (Bluetooth audio works just fine.) And there's no way I can justify paying Samsung $70 to fix a phone I got in 2008.
My touch screen stopped working only when the Torch is slid open. The track pad still works and can use the menu to navigate but what a pain. This started three days ago. Phone is 17 months old. Is this a setting?
I bought my TORCH 9810 3 months ago, it worked well, but lately I've been experiencing problems with it, the screen doesn touch, when it works, it works very slow, I can tap six times and it won't work, what is the problem and how can I fix this! Everything works very fine, except for the screen, why?!
I have used my torch for a long time now and it used to work perfectly, now the touch screen doesn't work at all, I have to use the track pad for everything. The pulling out battery doesn't work; and its not an option to take to my carrier since it is an Att device and my provider is Tmobile.
I have a problem with my BB Torch 9800. When I am calling or I am just dialing a phone number my screen is completely off and I cant do anything (browse menu, check the time, check the length of call, etc.).
The screen on my blackberry torch has stopped working. Everything else still is, I am receiving messages, the keys light up, so does the flashing light at the top and my alarm keeps going off however the screen is just black. I have not done anything to the phone for this to happen (not wet, dropped etc).
When I slide my BB Torch 9800 screen its display doesn't work properly. Green colours appear on the screen making visibility very poor. The screen however work fine when it is closed
The keys have stopped working and also my my touchscreen is not working. Yesterday I done a reset and I was able to do a text message but five minutes later the keys stopped working again.
my screen has stopped rotating when I put the device into a landscape axis. I have seen many post about people who want to disable this feature but I like it and now my device has stopped doing it.
My momīs Blackberry Torch 9800 (Carrier is Claro Brasil and the OS is updated to 6.0 Bundle 2647) isnīt working properly. Sometimes the touch screen doesnīt work and sometimes is works but not in a perfect way. When I try to type some numbers to dial using the virtual keyboard some keys doesnīt work out like the back button. When I type the back button the number 3 appears in the screen. I tried to downgrade and then upgrade the software using the desktop manager but this didnīt fix the problem and even after pulling the battery several times the problem remains.
Phone fell into snow last week (when I did). Got the red dot indicating liquid damage. All seems to be working except the touch screen. I can no longer do anything with it.
My touch screen keyboard does not come up when I want to use it and so I can only use my keyboard once I slide the screen up. I must have hit a button but for life of me cannot find which one I need to turn it back on again. It use to come up automatically when I touched in a typing area for texts, web etc - now nothing.
am having a problem with my 9800 torch that the screen touch sensitivity is not working at all. i tried formating the apps from it but still nothing happenedalso it reboots many times automaticaly and thats makes it difficult to do anything to fix the screen problem
Recently the touch screen keyboard if my blackberry torch has stopped working when I close the my phone (slide close) and also the rotation that Blackberry torch does when you change the position of it isn't also work, I thought it was software problem but it's not.
I have updated my device (Torch 9810) a few months ago and from that moment on the touch screen is not operating properly. Sometimes it works but most of the times it does not. Also the track pad does not always work properly after the upgrade. Yesterday nothing worked and I had to soft reset the device before considering throwing it to the swimming poolThe unfortunate thing is that I do not remember what type of upgrade I made but it took 2-3 hours to complete.Last but not least after this upgrade my battery dies in less than half a day. I bought a new one and the same thing happens.
I dropped my 9810 in cup of soda and have had it in a container of uncooked rice for 4 days. It's has completely dried out. I turn it back on for the first time, and all my new notifications appear, but unfortunately I cannot access them because my touchscreen function is not working nor is the select button working.I was hoping I would just turn my device back on and everything would be working as normal, but I guess that was wishful thinking.
My 9810 is acting up. None of the keys are working, even the 5 below the screen. Sometimes the track pad works but not when it is pressed, and when the back botton works it puts me into sreach mode and looks for the letter "H" only. The touch screen is fine. This was before upgrading to OS7.1. I have done multiple hard resets and it does nothing at all. This has been going on for three days now. It hasn't be dropped or anything.
Last night I upgraded to OS 7.1 now my back ground does not rotate properly with how the phone is being held it does rotate, When you hold it upright it thinks its on it's side and vise versa.
My screen is working fine but my keyboard and other buttons are not functioning at all. I also have my phone locked so in order to go into it i need to type my password but im also unable to do that because none of the keys are working.
1. images are not automatically appearing (need to click get images) 2. the HTML emails are appearing too wide. I have to scroll to the right to see the other half of the email.
i bought a new torch 9860 with OS7. when i try to open any flash video from facebook, it doesn;t open and says my phone doesnot support this. on adobe site, there is no flash player available for blackberry os7.
I think my title says it all, I've tried battery pulls and nothing helped. Is this just a hardware problem? Do I just need to return is or is there anything else I could try?
I am looking for a thread or would like to create one that will instruct a newbie on how to clean up (or hide) those apps I don't want or use, on the main screen. Also would like to know recommendations as to best apps to have, that don't suck memory. (Maybe an app to free up wasted space?)
