Recently the trackpad on my bb torch had been acting up and I've figured out it works when my phone is slid down but when I slide it up it doesn't work?Does anyone know what's wrong with it and how it can be fixed?

IN the last 2 months i will go to call someone and the phone is silent(No ringing or voice from the other person). So i started pushing keys on my phone to see if i could hear that and i have come to notice that if i hit "#" all of the sudden it starts ringing or the persons voice is there on the other end. They can hear me the whole time but I cannot hear them. When it starts doing this silent thing I am able to hit the # key for about the 1st 2 phone calls then it does not work what so ever. The other person can hear me but I can hear nothing. I then have to take my battery out and restart my phone and it will work for a few hours or maybe a day but then does the same thing again.

He has noticed that the keys are still working, because when he slides the screen back down whatever he had typed is there on the screen (which quite obviously is working fine when in the down position).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9780 Recently my trackpad has been playing up(not repsonding to my touch) and when it does respond it flys everywhere uncontrollably and the centre bit doesnt work either. i have taken battery out several times. i have also tried updating and restoring to original factory settings. I have backed up etc. This still hasnt worked. has anyone else had these problems.

I downgraded the software version back to 5. something and it works fine. have tried rebooting the device,taking out the battery, re installing 6.0 and nothing seems to work.

I would only find out upon making a call and no one could here me speak back. I tried the hands free mic and attaching a headset. All did not work. I pulled the battery and it would work. My Sprint store exchanged me last week...it is happening again. I have backed up and wiped the phone and started fresh..

No red light or anything.. Tried plugging the phone to a wall charger with and without battery for extensive amounts of time. Tried hardware button combos for resetting the phone but nothing works.. Phone just does not power on. Checked the google results and I've seen lots of posts about simmilar issues but without a solution. What's going on, did $600 I payed got wasted? View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure whether this is a 9700 problem or a problem with Orange (UK) but it seems that every time I restart my BlackBerry, be it a battery pull or a restart from removing an app, my phone loses the ability to connect to UMA ("ISP or wireless network error"). The first time this happened I rang Orange and got them to reset my service and this seemed to do the trick since shortly after my UMA connected again.After installing and then removing App World and restarting my BlackBerry, it's gone again. Obviously I can't ring Orange support at all hours of the day and every time this happens.

I'm totally stumped on this one..My Bold is running OS 5.0.0.351 (The latest version on Orange)I've tried numerous battery pulls, resetting the router, wiped my handset, re-sent service books, all the usual stuff.The wifi icon is white and NOT greyed out. All other wifi features are working except UMA.
Well I got a black berry bold 9790 about a month ago; however, the touch screen stops responding and doesn't work again until I switch the phone off and remove the battery, it doesn't work even I reboot the phone without removing the battery.

Everything was fine at first but recently i would say within the past month i've been dropping calls and having problems with the data services. I'll be streaming slacker radio and all of a sudden it stops and i have to reboot to get it working again. The dropped calls thing is pretty much random. Im running 5.0.0.405.
Anyone else having this problem? I mean the whole surfing while talking thing is nice but if this keeps up im going to have to just bite the bullet pay the early term fee and switch back!

I have had this problem with three devices (all 9000's) and have had each replaced because I was told that it was a hardware error by the AT&T rep. However, I have done some testing on additional devices (corp. environment) and have been able to reproduce the issue, or more accurately stated, I have been able to observe the issue occurring on each device in my test group over time.Basically, when the device is new, the button works very snappy. Over time, looks like 2-3 months, the button begins to show intermittent issues and takes longer and longer being held down to activate the function (starting or sleeping). Eventually, this function has quit working on every device I've tested (out of the box devices with no apps beyond the delivered ones installed). Removing the battery repeatedly and on a regular schedule of once a week has not had an impact on the issue during testing or in Prod. Being new to supporting these devices I looked around and did some searching but haven't found a solution that has worked for our situation.

View 1 Replies View RelatedGot my Defender the other day. I noticed that when the phone is in the case the proximity sensor stops working. I take the phone out and it work fine. I emailed Otterbox and the guy said to clean the plastic window. Really?? you dont think I tried that before sending the email? I am going to try my brothers case to see if its the case. My brother told me that he had the proximity sensor issue before the case and now his works fine. My last step is to reload 4.0.1 but I have to figure out how to get a video off the phone first.

The phone will still vibrate and function fine except for ringing or letting me know about alert/alarms. I am on the latest firmware 45.4.13 but this issue has been ongoing for the past 3 firmware upgrades I have done. I have done factore resets multiple times and ran nothing but stock apps for a full month but it contnues to happen. Honestly it does not bother me to remember to reboot by phone each night but i have missed two VERY important calls because I was in another room and did not hear it ring.

Brand new devices.I have a problem with auto complete text. Once I transfer language from eng to other language with the keyboard shortcut (alt+enter ) the auto text stops working. Furthermore, the option box just disappears from the menu (options - text and languages ) !. Reset by battery removal fixes the problem.But, onces you repeat the above action the auto text complete disappears again...Some bug is there.... tried it with all 5 devices of my office.I contacted my provider- they were not aware of the problem and I demonstrated it to them. They dont know how to solve it...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was recently on a call when I noticed that I'd lost audio. I'd had the same problem before, but a reboot always fixed it before. This time, a reboot didn't help.After rebooting a second time, I connected my phone to my PC using a USB cable and loaded Samsung PC Studio. (As silly as it may sound, this step fixed my wife's phone several months back when it started to severely lag between keypresses.) No help there, either.I then turned the volume all the way up, started playing a song on my phone, and held my ear up close to the receiver. I could hear a very, very faint sound.
As soon as I slid the phone shut, the speaker went back to full volume.If that were the end of it, I could live with a silly workaround (make call, put call on speakerphone, slide phone shut, take call off speakerphone). But on a recent call, after using the usual workaround, I lost audio even with the phone slid shut.
Samsung tech support walked me through resetting my phone settings to factory defaults (Menu > Settings > (9) Reset Settings > Select "Phone Settings" > OK > Confirm). Still no go. I stopped short of wiping the phone completely because I didn't want to lose my Address Book and because I strongly believe the internal speaker is dying.Whenever the audio has cut in and out, it sounds exactly like a speaker shorting out.
I don't want to get a new phone and extend my contract with AT&T. I don't want to move to another cell phone provider yet (I'm hoping to hold out for when the Galaxy Nexus comes to Sprint then wait for the first price drop), either. I don't want to have to use a Bluetooth headset every time I make or receive a call. (Bluetooth audio works just fine.) And there's no way I can justify paying Samsung $70 to fix a phone I got in 2008.
My blackberry torch 9800 was working perfectly fine untill for some unknown reason the screen went completely pixelated, from then on it appears to be normal until you slide open the phone to use the qwerty keypad, therefore i can only use the phone when it is slided shut and have to rely on the touch screen. the only way to get the screen back to normal is to slide it shut and repeatedly press the lock button until it restores itsself and on multiple occassions i have had to remove the battery for the phone to go back to normal.
does anyone know if this is a software problem? or a maufacture problem? or has it been damaged? and is there anyway to fix it..
So i got my blackberry back at the End of july, and ever since blackberry went down in September i believe my track pad has not been functioning correctly. 3 weeks ago my track pad decided to stop working all together and i havn't gotten it to work since.
