I think my title says it all, I've tried battery pulls and nothing helped. Is this just a hardware problem? Do I just need to return is or is there anything else I could try?
View 1 RepliesI have a Torch 9800 and the volume buttons on the right side of my phone don't seem to be working with any music program (Pandora, Slacker Radio, etc.) other than the normal Music program that comes with the phone. Is there something I need to do to configure the buttons for third-party music programs? It used to work just fine with these programs but no more!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI read in other forums for different devices that the volume button also advances songs. On my Torch this happens and it seems far too sensitive. Anytime I up the volume or lower I have to wait to see if it works as intended or advances the songs. Anyone seeing this also? Am I doing something wrong?

When I insert the BB Torch into my belt holder and then try to increase the music volume it actually works. I tried calling customer support at AT&T and was told that I need to take my phone to the nearest AT&T store and have the BB software upgraded. Is there a fix for this issue? I am becoming frustrated with my purchase to the newest,"best" blackberry that RIM has ever sold. My opinion is that the device has fallen short of everyone's expectations and the lack of technical support leaves me feeling that RIM does not feel that they need to be held accountable for taking people's money for a product that fails to perform as they advertised. The product that I purchased fails to do all the things that I was believed it would do when I purchased it.

View 2 Replies View Relatedbasically i bought my BB torch like 6 months ago, ever since i got it it was freezing (not alot though) anyway like 3 weeks ago the home button (main button) stopped working i turned the device off then on again and it worked. but it stopped working like after a couple of days and i had to reboot it and stuff and its been doing the same thing over and over again and it gets worse everytime, till the home button stopped working at all. then i took the battery out without turning it off, then cleaned the device properly so it worked for like an hour then it stopped working.

I tried battery resets, I also tried removing battery and pressing the button 5 times as I heard this may fix it. None of that works. Is there any fix for the trackpad button not working or should I just buy a iphone, i'm getting tired of blackberry issues.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the menu/BlackBerry button (whatever it's called) The button seems to be stuck. So when I push it the menu will come up but it will automatically do what is highlighted, which is often close or open the tray if on the home screen. If I lock the phone it will darken but then lighten up as if I have pressed the button, but I haven't. It will say screen locked but will continously darken and lighten back up.
I was having this issue a little while ago and even took my phone apart to clean as I thought that was the issue but it did not help. Then I needed to charge it, which I normally do by plug in, but this time I used usb to computer. There seemed to be a substantial update for my phone which once completed fixed the issue with the button. Which was a huge relief as I was thinking I would have to pay somebody to fix and I don't want to do that. It is very pricey.
Well today it started back up. I connected it to the computer but it said there were no updates and did not fix the button problem. And yes I have tried battery pull.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy buttons seemed to have stopped working properly. In order to adjust the volume using the side button, I have to shut down the phone and then restart it. It will work for a while and then stops working and I have to go thru the process again. The home button just works whenever it wants. It doesn't fix the problem when I restart the phone. I can slide my finger in a circle around the button and it still doesn't work.

I finally fixed it after reinstalling the OS a couple times but now I've noticed the 'clicking' function of the trackpad is not working. When I press it down nothing happens. I turn it back on for the first time, and all my new notifications appear, but unfortunately I cannot access them because my touchscreen function is not working nor is the select button working.I was hoping I would just turn my device back on and everything would be working as normal, but I guess that was wishful thinking.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just noticed this today that when I'm playing a song on my phone, the volume buttons act as the media player as well switching to the next song. I would often try to increase or decrease the volume, and I realize I can't. I tried a battery pull hoping that would solve the issue. It's frustrating how a person can't hear music at all, and having no use of the volume buttons. I am still under my 30 day warranty, I'm considering taking it back and exchanging for a new one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am pretty sure that after my up grade to 5.1, my volume + button stopped working. I think this is a software problem, because I can temporarily fix the issue by re-setting the network settings. However the fix is short lived, because as soon as I connect to a wifi network, the volume + button stops working again.

It has been this way for quite a while (nearly a year) and I am thinking that there is a permission that was inadverdently disabled.
