it used to work... then every now and again if took battery out now for last 2 weeks not worked at all.. i rang to report it n they said it would just need updating because my Camera stopped working aswell so i did that Camera now works and button stilL does not...

So I got this phone for Christmas.And I had a few troubles at first but nothing a quick post on these forums didn't clear up. But a few days have gone by and new problems have developed. Any help would be appreciated.
1) The middle button (used for menu and selection) is not working. But when I turn the phone off for about 5 or 6 minutes and then turn it back on it magically works again for about.5 or 6 minutes.What is the problem and how can this be fixed?
2) when I turn the phone off and back on it makes the sounds of it starting up but the screen just stays black.and then I have to let it sit for (go figure) 5 or 6 minutes before the screen shows. please help with this problem as best you can
last week, I went to the beach with my friends and unfortunately, my dear phone was dropped in the water T.T. I tried to take the battery out immediately. 2 days later, I put the battery back, it seems to work well EXCEPT the middle / main button T.T. I tried to hit that button hard but it's not working.

It takes several presses in for it to work, and I will often have to press it in quite hard. I am unsure of why this has happened, because I have not dropped the phone or let water or other substances into it. It could perhaps be dirt? I have tried several battery pulls.

The Elm was just given new to me from Vodafone, so yeah and the X10 is my general phone, but I need my S312 as it is my spare phone or a phone that I use at times when the X10 is ruined (hopefully never) or I am going somewhere where I would never dare bring my X10.
Its my spare phone and no being able to click ok / middle / select is annoying theres no point keeping the phone, so how to I place the middle button back on, I tried semi-super glue (like the ones you get in model sets) and that didn't work (just made it smell ) and I tried double sided tape, it worked but it fell off because the tape is slightly bigger and because it increased the hight about 1cm then it should be so when I click it it will fall off. How do I fix it, here are some shots.

View 1 Replies View Relatedbasically i bought my BB torch like 6 months ago, ever since i got it it was freezing (not alot though) anyway like 3 weeks ago the home button (main button) stopped working i turned the device off then on again and it worked. but it stopped working like after a couple of days and i had to reboot it and stuff and its been doing the same thing over and over again and it gets worse everytime, till the home button stopped working at all. then i took the battery out without turning it off, then cleaned the device properly so it worked for like an hour then it stopped working.

I tried battery resets, I also tried removing battery and pressing the button 5 times as I heard this may fix it. None of that works. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the menu/BlackBerry button (whatever it's called) The button seems to be stuck. So when I push it the menu will come up but it will automatically do what is highlighted, which is often close or open the tray if on the home screen. If I lock the phone it will darken but then lighten up as if I have pressed the button, but I haven't. It will say screen locked but will continously darken and lighten back up.
I was having this issue a little while ago and even took my phone apart to clean as I thought that was the issue but it did not help. Then I needed to charge it, which I normally do by plug in, but this time I used usb to computer. There seemed to be a substantial update for my phone which once completed fixed the issue with the button. Which was a huge relief as I was thinking I would have to pay somebody to fix and I don't want to do that. It is very pricey.
Well today it started back up. I connected it to the computer but it said there were no updates and did not fix the button problem. And yes I have tried battery pull.

My blackberry torch gets a small turning black clock looking icon in the middle of it. When this happens my phone is frozen. The "clock like" icon continues to turn. When this happens I can not do anything with it. I cannot even turn it off. I fixed it by taking out the battery.
